We consider the problem of producing accurate facial animation corresponding to a given input speech signal. A popular technique previously used for Audio Driven Facial Animation is to build a joint audio-visual model using Active Appearance Models (AAMs) to represent possible facial variations and Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) to select the correct appearance based on the input audio. However there are several questions that remained unanswered. In particular the choice of clustering technique and the choice of the number of clusters in the HMM may have significant influence over the quality of the produced videos. We have investigated a range of clustering techniques in order to improve the quality of the HMM produced, and proposed a new structure based on using Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs) to model each phoneme separately. We compared our approach to several alternatives using a public dataset of 300 phonetically labeled sentences spoken by a single person and found that our approach produces more accurate animation. In addition, we use a hybrid approach where the training data is phonetically labeled thus producing a model with better separation of phonemes, but test audio data is not labeled, thus making our approach for generating facial animation less laborious and fully automatic.

Development of Electronic Archive Information System was the final step in completing Lithuania's preparation for signed electronic documents. The system is unique not only in Lithuania, but also in Europe. It allows to submit to the state archives the official electronic documents signed by qualified e-signature, assuring their integrity, authenticity, non-repudiation and possibility to use and store them for a long or unlimited time. To resolve the interoperability problems the universal model, sufficient for complex electronic documents during whole of their life cycle has been created and described in two specifications: ADOC - for human readable electronic documents and MDOC - for machine readable electronic documents. The public free software tools for preparation, signing, preview and verification of official electronic documents have played an important role in promoting the usage of electronic documents. The paper presents practical fundamental solutions applied in Lithuania.

There is an ongoing research on reconciling the difference between predicted/simulated and actual energy consumption in buildings (either in design or in operational phase). In this paper a fully automated acquisition system for occupancy and energy measurement data is going to be presented. The proposed system comprises a depth camera cloud and RFID for occupancy extraction, a network of CO2and temperature sensors and separate energy meters for HVAC, lighting, wall sockets and equipment. The extracted occupancy and energy consumption measurements of the proposed system could be utilized in a variety of applications, such as real-time control strategies, performance simulation analysis, high semantic occupancy and energy consumption information extraction, even business processes analysis and simulation. The proposed system has been evaluated to a large scale experiment, and its accuracy and robustness will prove its significance to the occupancy simulation processes, as well as to any kind of application that exploits occupancy.
