Intersymbol interference (ISI) can be effectively cancelled by using a decision-aided canceler (DAC). Such a scheme exploits the fact that the introduced ISI may be adequately modeled as a linear combination of past and future decisions. Since future decisions are unavailable, a first stage is required, which provides tentative decisions to the second (the cancellation) stage. In the new DAC presented here, block adaptive schemes, implemented in the frequency domain, are used in both stages. The new DAC outperforms the existing DAC schemes in both steady-state performance and convergence speed and at the same time it exhibits a much lower computational complexity. Its good performance is retained even under hostile conditions such as those encountered in wideband mobile communication systems.

Iridology is the science that allows a health practitioner or non expert to learn the signs in the iris of the eye that is capable of indicating the presence of abnormalities in the body, including basic genetics, toxin deposition, dam circulation, and other weaknesses. Research on computerized iridology had been done before. This paper present a computerized iridology system for detecting heart conditions which is designed through several stages such as pre-processing, auto cropping, segmentation, feature extraction and classification using Thresholding Algorithm. Put a sample of the patient's iris shows the condition of normal and abnormal heart. Our proposed heart abnormalities detection system performs in Mugi Barokah Clinic Surabaya. We made an experimental study of our proposed system by using 40 data of normal and abnormal patients to determine the effectiveness of our application system. Our heart abnormalities detection system gives contribution for the patient with 86,4% accuration.

Intelligent tutoring systems are becoming an important mean of education delivery and have changed the ways of teaching and learning. One of their most important aspects concerns the personalization and the adaptation of the learning procedures to learners' characteristics. This is mainly achieved with the use of student modelling which is employed to record user context and to enhance the learning experience of the students. In this work, we present a generic ontology that incorporates concepts and properties used to model user profiles in order to formulate concrete, complete and extensible user modelling in e-learning systems. The ontology consists of learners' personal, cognitive and social information as well as information about their performance and skills. In order to keep the student model updated, semantic rules are utilized to analyse student learning and to extract knowledge regarding their performance. The ontological approach is domain independent and can be utilized as a reference model for learner representation in intelligent tutoring systems in higher and distance education.
