The Javanese language is a local subject taught in almost all elementary schools on the island of Java. Most students have difficulties learning Javanese, especially the Javanese letters. They can hardly read and write the Javanese traditional scripts as they are no longer for daily reading and writing. Therefore, this research develops attractive Javanese letters learning medium to ease the students studying the Javanese letters independently and improve their understanding and learning outcomes as an Android-based mobile application. This study involved 57 students (28 students in the experimental group and 29 students in the control group), two Javanese language teachers, and two media experts. Experiments and testing were conducted for approximately two weeks, with the experimental group using the SinAr application and the control group using textbooks during the learning process. The result is that the experimental group show a higher increase in learning outcomes than the control group, so it approached the ability of the control group, which was superior in Javanese lessons based on the pretest and post-test results. The SinAr application also supports understanding of the material, student learning independence, and interesting learning, based on the results of trials on 57 students who overall received and gave good responses to the SinAr application for each aspect of learning design, operational, and visual communication with scores of 4.29 (85%). © 2023 IEEE.

The traveling salesman problem (TSP) has been studied for many years. In particular, the multimodal optimization of the TSP is important for practical applications, because decision-makers can select the best candidate based on current conditions and requirements. In the Euclidean TSP, there are n points in R^d space with Euclidean distance between any two points, that is, d(x, y) =||x-y||_2. The goal is to find a tour of minimum length visiting each point. In this article, we only focus on the case that d=2. Recently, in order to efficiently handle the multimodal optimization of the TSP, some methods have been developed to deal with it. Nevertheless, these methods usually perform poorly for large-scale cases. In this article, we propose a niching regression adaptive memetic algorithm (MA) to handle the multimodal optimization of the Euclidean TSP. We use the MA as the baseline algorithm and incorporate the neighborhood strategy to maintain the population diversity. In addition, we design a novel regression partition initialization and adaptive parameter control to enhance our algorithm, and propose the concept of the redundant individual to improve the search efficiency. To validate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we comprehensively conduct experiments on the multimodal optimization of TSP benchmark and the well-known TSPLIB library. The experimental results reveal that the proposed method outperforms other methods, especially for large-scale cases. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

Prior study has developed the RouteSegmentation algorithm to identify the perimeter area surrounding a route. In this study, a comparative experiment was carried out to investigate the performance of the RouteSegmentation algorithm implementation in contrast to the RouteBoxer algorithm. Both algorithms play a crucial role in geographical information systems (GIS), particularly in enhancing navigational tools by identifying points of interest along specified routes. Through systematic experimentation using various perimeter distance values and types of route, the trade-offs between processing efficiency and the granularity of the area identified by these algorithms were evaluated. The results demonstrate that RouteSegmentation maintained relatively consistent performance across different perimeter distance values and statistically significantly faster processing time than RouteBoxer. Furthermore, while the RouteBoxer algorithm benefits from larger perimeter distance values by reducing processing time, it compromises the coverage results of the algorithm and potentially undermines its usefulness in practical scenarios. This study not only provides insights into the optimal use of perimeter distance values for each algorithm but also guides users in selecting the appropriate algorithm based on their specific application needs, balancing detailed geographical analysis and runtime efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

The data collected from all the States and Union Territories has been compiled in the Publication, according to the ministry of road transport and roads transport research wing. The total number of accident-related deaths in 2018 was 1,51,417, which is a 2.3 percent increase over 2017. Around 85% of accident-related deaths occur in the 18-60 age range, which is the most productive. Road traffic fatalities not only inflict the relatives of the victims considerable emotional suffering, but they also cost the nation a lot of money. In this data maximum hazard happens due to delayed response of family and friends as they are unknown of the situation of the sight of the accident. Also, several cases remain unreported. Our objective is to reduce this number to make our nation strong and prosper. In this current research we are committed to creating a social network where road accidents can be reported quickly to family and friends, so the delayed response can be reduced. The practice of associating a person with a picture has become increasingly common thanks to the media. However, it is less resistant to retinal and fingerprint scanning. The face detection and recognition module created for the current research is described in this paper. Face detection will be performed using Haar-Cascades, while face identification will be performed using Eigenfaces, Fisher faces, and local binary pattern histograms. © 2023 IEEE.

Federated Learning (FL) offers a privacy-preserving solution by enabling multiple clients to train a shared model collaboratively without centralizing data. However, the decentralized nature of FL presents challenges, particularly regarding security and performance under adversarial conditions. This paper investigates the effects of poisoning attacks under data heterogeneity. Our experiments evaluate the impact of varying malicious client fractions and poison concentration levels on the accuracy of the model. We explore the effects of poisoning attacks on FedAvg and FedNova models using medical imaging tasks. Our findings reveal that increasing data heterogeneity exacerbates the effects of poisoning, with FedNova demonstrating greater resilience compared to FedAvg. We found that the number of malicious clients plays a more significant role in degrading performance than the ratio of poisoning samples shared by each malicious client, suggesting that even modest levels of poisoning can be tolerated by most algorithms. The study highlights the importance of developing robust defense mechanisms to maintain model performance under adversarial conditions. © 2025 IEEE.

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is a radiation-free modality widely used for functional and structural evaluation of the cardiovascular system. Achieving an accurate diagnosis requires having good-quality images. Subjective CMR image quality assessment is a tedious, time-consuming and costly process. This paper presents an automated scoring framework for CMR image quality assessment that uses deep learning models to evaluate left ventricular coverage and CMR imaging artefacts. The quality scoring in the proposed framework is an attempt to automate some of the subjective quality control criteria of the EuroCMR registry for the short-axis cine steady-state free precession (SSFP) CMR images. The scores given by a radiologist and a cardiologist with experience in CMR imaging for the images of 50 subjects from the UK Biobank were used to validate the proposed framework. The Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) and the Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient (SRCC) calculated for the experts' quality scores versus ones obtained from the proposed framework are 0.908 and 0.806 on average. The results show that the quality scoring by the proposed framework is highly correlated with the experts' opinions. The proposed framework can be used for post-imaging quality assessment of short-axis cine SSFP CMR images and quality control of large population studies such as the UK Biobank. © 2023 IEEE.

Existing supervised facial attribute recognition (FAR) methods that rely on large labeled datasets can pose a challenge in real-world scenarios. In the case of limited labeled data, the current methods that introduce auxiliary tasks with a large number of parameters are not conducive to the embedded applications of FAR. To overcome these challenges, this paper develops an adjustable gating prompt Transformer that can handle the limited labeled FAR task with a small number of training parameters. Specifically, we employ an effective image-guided prompt tuning, where the image-related prompt sequence is first generated by feeding image tokens into an image-guided prompt generation network (IPG-Net). Then, the prompt sequence can learn facial image information and guide the frozen pre-trained Transformer to fine-tune the model. In addition, dynamically adjustable gating is applied to the prompt sequence to adaptively adjust the contribution of the prompts from different encoder layers, which enhances the interaction between the different encoder layers and retains effective feature information during the iterative process. Experimental results on the CelebA and LFWA datasets demonstrate that our method outperforms competitive methods with a very small amount of training parameters when only limited labeled data are used. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

This Bicopter is an unmanned aircraft with two brushless motor drive systems connected to propellers in a horizontal parallel position. The problem that often occurs in bicopters is stability or flight balance. When the vehicle cannot control or maintain its balance angle, it is most likely that the bicopter vehicle will fall while flying. Thus, a research design is carried out that can develop and overcome problems in Bicopter stability through PID Control Implementation as a One Axis Balancing Control System on the Bicopter Vehicle. This study aims to find out how to apply the PID control system as a balance controller on the bicopter and to see the results of the dynamic response generated by the PID control system using testing methods using different load weights and load positions. The research results show that the prototype of the bicopter vehicle with PID controller has been successfully made and can work well in carrying out balance control. By providing a value of Kp = 2.4329, Ki = 0.000821, Kd = 603.98901, and a Throttle of 1600 rpm, it produces a dynamic response in the form of the smallest Steady State Error value of 0.16 and the largest value of 9.29, the smallest Rise Time is 0.22s and the largest is 1.92s, The biggest overshoot is 6.68 and the smallest is -0.17. The biggest settling time is 3.36s, and the smallest is 0.92s © 2023 IEEE.

As a high-level programming language, Python supports user-friendly coding and system integration. It is not only used for data analytics but is also applied in software development. Although it has several benefits, users have various issues while running Python code. When programmers face issues, they often use Stack Overflow (SO) to get assistance for their problems. However, many Pythonrelated questions on SO are not responded to and remain unanswered. Thus, in this paper, we analyzed these unanswered questions to identify potential weaknesses of user and discussion characteristics. We applied a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative and qualitative analysis of user reputation, question types, and discussion topics. Our analysis shows that unanswered questions are mostly from low-reputation users ($\mathbf{7 2. 5 2 \%}$), followed by mid-reputation users $(\mathbf{1 7. 9 3 \%}$), and high-reputation users $\mathbf{(9. 5 5 \%)}$. The distribution of the unanswered question types shows that low-reputation users ask more “how” type of question ($\mathbf{3 8. 9 0 \%}$) followed by mid and high-reputation users. In contrast, the “what” and “why” questions are mostly posted by high-reputation users, followed by mid and low-reputation users. Our word-cloud analysis suggests a correlation between user reputation and the question topics. We acknowledge that there are limitations in our study, include potential misclassifications due to the time of posting and biases in manual labeling, which may affect the accuracy of our findings. This study provides insights into unanswered questions posted by the community, open up potential areas for future work such as improving support mechanisms and community engagement.
