In this paper, we explore innovative approaches in the field of information extraction from scanned invoice documents using deep learning methods. Our study makes significant contributions in three key areas. Firstly, we introduce a novel organizational method for labeling invoices, designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data extraction. This lays a foundation for future research in this domain. Secondly, we break new ground by classifying a larger number of classes, 57 in total, far exceeding the typical 8–10 classes usually addressed in existing literature. This comprehensive classification enables a more detailed and nuanced understanding of invoice data. Lastly, we present our experimentation with various deep learning architectures, including Graph Convolutional Network (GCN), LayoutLMv1, and LayoutLMv3. Notably, our findings reveal promising, albeit preliminary results for Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN), an architecture that is not pre-trained, sug- gesting potential for further exploration and development in this area.

An Abstract Argumentation Framework (AAF) is an abstract structure consisting of a set arguments, whose origin, nature, and possible internal organisation is not specified, and by a binary relation of attack on the set of arguments, whose meaning is not specified either. Subjective logic provides a standard set of logical operators, intended for use in domains containing uncertainty. In this paper, we define an extension of AAFs in which each argument and attacks is evaluated with an opinion, by revisiting the constellations approach developed for probabilistic AAFs. In this way, different agents can merge their opinions on how much arguments and attacks are "trustworthy", e.g., they do not represent fallacies or enthymemes. Finally, subjective logic operators can be used to fuse the belief of different possible worlds (i.e., a constellation of sub-graphs in the original AAF) containing different arguments and attacks.

Gamification of in-classroom diagram design for science students

Merging the content of learning with the motivation of games can be a successful combination, if done properly and supported by the appropriate tool. Towards this goal, we developed Diagram-atic an environment used to gamify the in-classroom activity of designing diagrams during a lecture. Using Diagram-atic the professor, instead of lecturing about diagrams or showing examples of such diagrams, can design short games where the students could play by competing during the lecture. Diagram-atic is a complete environment offering to the professor a design application to create games and a management application. The management application is used for monitoring the games while students play, as well as to present the results to the students after the end of each game, or to evaluate these results after classroom time. The students may use the mobile application on their mobiles to practice by designing diagrams outside of the classroom, as well as to play a game during classroom time, but only after the professor starts this game. The environment handles the communication from students’ mobiles to the professor’s applications and vice versa, while the students submit their diagrams or receive the correct ones, so to proceed to follow up games. The current version of Diagram-atic is tailored for designing flow graphs used for path testing into a higher education software engineering course, but the environment can be used in any similar case requiring the design of diagrams (e.g. math, physics, chemistry). the design decisions made in the architecture of a software system are essential to its maintainability, and thus its quality is of great importance. Architecture smells (ASs) can be used to identify any quality issues within the system. To further explore the relationships between ASs, stability, and reusability, Spearman correlation coefficients will be calculated. This paper seeks to examine the connection between architecture smells, software stability, and reusability. To do this, we utilized a dataset created by other researchers and conducted an empirical study of the associations between five types of architecture smells and software stability and reusability. This research is necessary as there is a lack of in-depth research on architecture smells and their relationship to software stability and reusability. We found a relationship between the presence of Feature Concentration in package and the stability and reusability of the package. Also, package's stability is affected by both Cyclic dependency and Unstable dependency. A slight positive correlation has been found between God Class and stability, as well as a very weak negative correlation between Unstable dependency and reusability. Finally, we found a slight negative correlation between package stability and reusability. © 2024 IEEE.

Collaborative recommendation approaches based on nearest-neighbors are still highly popular today due to their simplicity, their efficiency, and their ability to produce accurate and personalized recommendations. This chapter offers a comprehensive survey of neighborhood-based methods for the item recommendation problem. It presents the main characteristics and benefits of such methods, describes key design choices for implementing a neighborhood-based recommender system, and gives practical information on how to make these choices. A broad range of methods is covered in the chapter, including traditional algorithms like k-nearest neighbors as well as advanced approaches based on matrix factorization, sparse coding and random walks. At the dawning of the beyond 5G era, broadband last mile connectivity is stimulating rapid developments in optical and wireless technologies that will efficiently handle the traffic generated by mobile users and demanding network applications. To this end, multiple Radio Access (multi-RAT) technologies operating at various millimeter wave (mmWave) frequency bands, e.g., V-/E-/D-band are being actively pursued, in parallel with the investigation of efficient fiber wireless fronthaul schemes, e.g. Analog Radio over Fiber (aRoF) or Intermediate Frequency over Fiber (IFoF), to deliver low-complexity, broadband, last-mile connectivity. However, integration of such novel technologies in an actual mobile network infrastructure remains a challenge, as it needs to support compatibility with the network operators' equipment. The current talk aims to present a holistic Fiber Wireless (FiWi) connectivity, demonstrating the co-existence of Analog and Digital RoF traffic along with flexible, reconfigurable point-to-multipoint connectivity to multi-RAT antenna units. Experimental results on high capacity FiWi fronthaul links operating in the V- (60 GHz) and D- (145 GHz) will be presented. Moreover, end-to-end, integrated real-time traffic and network operation will also be discussed and experimentally presented, indicating a possible technology roadmap towards multi-RAT 6G networks.

Safety or mission critical systems are those where failures should be avoided at all costs. engineering processes, techniques and tools are, however, not perfect, and lead to software and systems with flaws. This paper presents an analysis of the impact of late found issues versus the fault types for critical aerospace systems. These issues are the independently detected faults that remain once the engineering processes that are required by European space standards have been applied and the engineering teams have performed their verification and validation activities. This study presents the analysis of the fault impact versus fault type distribution according to the detection phases and to the issues severity/type and presents recommendations to improve space systems engineering.

Consumers nowadays are opted with inline business commerce which is inconsiderably inconvenience compared to traditional transactions. Deniably, e.-commerce enterprises offer more benefits, comparing to 'bricks-Andmortal' traditional enterprises, but not to be missed the issues and challenges faced by the e-commerce enterprises. Low altitude airspace economy applications will be of highly effective in a wide range of civil activities and will be a critical element in the smart cities of the future. In view of the main features of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), such as automatic piloting system, access to uninhabited areas, low cost compared to road and manned aircraft, shorter delivery time, and the ability to carry heavy payloads, it is important to recognize that UAVs can be used for a wide range of civil activities. With the development of these applications in full swing around the world, in addition to advanced communications technology and other related infrastructure, business demand and a favorable investment climate, clarity, definiteness and feasible regulations in the Taiwanese environment are also essential. Based on the premise of local economic strength, the technical level of the telecommunication industry, and commercial demands, Taiwan should establish a rational standard for the UAV regulatory system as soon as possible, so as to facilitate the development of UAM and to ensure the international competitiveness of the related technologies for market development © 2024 IEEE.
