Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) analysis is a widely used medical procedure for the early diagnosis of various brain diseases. Accurate pathology identification during the brain MRI analysis procedure is crucial as misdiagnoses or missed findings can greatly affect a patient's treatment and long-term prediction. With the recent advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the medical field, researchers have approached various techniques to detect brain diseases using AI. Although AI models exhibit high accuracy, they suffer from a lack of transparency and interpretability, paving the way for the development of eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) methods in brain disease diagnosis. Image segmentation, machine learning, deep learning and XAI are important for assisting the diagnostic procedure. In this paper, a comprehensive overview of various existing techniques in brain disease detection using MRI is presented, starting with image segmentation techniques, followed by classification techniques, and finally, XAI techniques. In conclusion, the paper identifies a critical need for further research on XAI integration to advance brain disease detection.

Secret Image Sharing (SIS) is the technology that shares any given secret image by generating and distributing n shadow images in the way that any subset of k shadow images can restore the secret image. However, in the existing SIS schemes, the shadow images will be easily tampered and corrupted during the communication, which will pose serious security issues. Recently, blockchain has emerged as a promising paradigm in the field of data communication and information security. To securely communicate and effectively protect the secret image data in wireless networks, we propose a Blockchain-based Secure and Efficient Secret Image Sharing (BC-SESIS) scheme with outsourcing computation in wireless networks. In the proposed BC-SESIS scheme, the shadow images are encrypted and stored in the blockchain to prevent them from being tampered and corrupted. The identity authentication-enabled smart contract is deployed to achieve the (k,n) threshold for secret image restoring. Furthermore, to reduce the computational burden of smart contract and users, an efficient outsourcing computation method is designed to outsource the restoring task, which is securely implemented by agent miners in the encryption domain. Theoretical analysis and extensive experiments demonstrate that the BC-SESIS scheme can achieve desirable communication security and high computational efficiency in the wireless networks. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) systems include a massive number of connected devices. The communication between these devices requires a huge amount of communication. Thus, it is very crucial for an IoT system to reduce communication volumes by minimizing the amount of data transmission. There are several approaches to achieving the goal of data transmission reduction, such as data compression and dual prediction. Dual prediction schemes received more attention in comparison to data compression. The mainstream techniques for proposing dual prediction schemes in the literature can be classified into two main groups, namely, filter-based and deep learning-based methods. The filter-based methods, such as the 1-D Kalman filter, are lightweight in terms of running time and the model’s memory requirements. On the other hand, deep learning-based methods require more memory space and training time, but deep learning models are more accurate as predictive models in comparison to filter-based methods in dual prediction schemes. There are very limited efforts to utilize machine learning methods in dual prediction schemes as a compromise between the aforementioned mainstream techniques. In this work, we extended one of these limited efforts, which utilizes boosting ensemble learning as a machine learning predictive method in a proposed dual prediction scheme. The current work proposes exploring the performance gap between the three main approaches to ensemble learning, namely, boosting, stacking, and bagging. The three proposed ensemble learning models are evaluated on a real dataset and compared against state-of-the-art methods. The obtained results show that among the ensemble learning models, boosting and bagging models are better than the stacking model, but the three proposed ensemble learning models outperformed the state-of-the-art methods of comparison. A host-switch graph was originally proposed as a graph that represents a network topology of a computer systems with 1-port host computers and (Formula presented.) -port switches. It has been studied from both theoretical and practical aspects in terms of the diameter, the average shortest path length, and the performance of real applications. In recent high-performance computing systems, however, a host computer is connected to multiple switches by using InfiniBand, NVSwitch, or Omni-Path, and consequently they provide high bandwidths. Since a host-switch graph cannot represent such systems, this article extends a host-switch graph so that it can represent such systems. As a result, a host-switch graph can include multi-ported hosts. Furthermore, we propose to use multi-port hosts for reducing the diameter. We show that the diameter minimization is equivalent to solving the degree diameter problem for bipartite graphs of diameter three. Our experimental results show that we can drastically reduce the diameter as well as increasing the bandwidth and improves performance of MPI applications by up to 162% as compared with networks with single-ported hosts. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

The process of managing financial transactions, especially in the education sector, is still mostly carried out conventionally, so it has the potential to cause many risks, such as loss or damage to documents related to difficulties in searching for data as needed, transaction processes that take quite a long time, financial records that are not properly recorded. Well, it is prone to discrepancies between the nominal filing and the nominal disbursed conventional representations of financial statements that make the stakeholder evaluation process uncomfortable, and many other things. Therefore this research was conducted to build a website-based information system that can prevent this from happening in the future. The method used in the development of this information system is the Agile method with the Scrum framework. The Scrum framework consists of five stages, starting from Initiate, Plan, and Estimate, Implement, Review and Retrospect, and Release. This website was built using the Javascript programming language using the Vue JS framework for the Front-end. With this website-based application, it is hoped that transaction activities can be carried out better and correctly without being limited by space and time. © 2023 IEEE.

A stroke, also known as brain attack, occurs when blood supply to your brain is interrupted. Primary prevention relies on prompt prediction of a stroke. While currently there are several clinical risk scores, machine learning (ML) models seems to be more suitable tools for accurate prediction of stroke events. Therefore, this work focuses on the prediction of stroke within 7 years follow-up in patients who have not suffered from a stroke or TIA event at baseline. LightGBM (LGBM), Extreme Grading Boosting (XGBoost), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Decision Tree were employed in the getABI dataset, which includes 5,897 participants. The performance of models was calculated by Accuracy (ACC), Sensitivity (SENS), Specificity (SPE) and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of each model. According to the comparison analysis's results, LGBM has been shown to be the most trustworthy algorithm, with accuracy 68 %. Moreover, sex, age, status of peripheral artery disease (PAD), history of myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, amputation and diabetes and pulse status of different arteries can be used as a simple and cost-effective way to predict *** Relevance: A fatal medical emergency, stroke may be anticipated using artificial intelligence, and the sooner it is predicted, the more cerebrovascular disease occurrences can be avoided. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper considers one dimensional unsteady heat condition in a media with temperature dependent thermal conductivity. When the thermal conductivity depends on the temperature, the corresponding heat equation is nonlinear. At one or both boundaries, a relaxing boundary condition is applied. It is a time dependent condition that approaches continuously, as time increases, a certain time independent condition. Such behavior at the boundaries arises naturally in some physical systems. As an example, we propose a simple model system that can give rise to either Dirichlet or convective relaxing boundary condition. Due to the dependence of the thermal conductivity on the temperature, the convective condition is nonlinear. For the solution of the problem, we propose a new numerical approach that first discretizes the heat equation in time, whereby a sequence of two-point boundary value problems (TPBVPs) is obtained. We use implicit time discretization, which provides for unconditional stability of the method. If the initial condition is given, we can solve consecutively the TPBVPs and get approximations of the temperature at the different time levels. For the solution of the TPBVPs, we apply the finite difference method. The arising nonlinear systems are solved by Newton’s method. Machine learning, particularly Support Vector Machines (SVM), has gained popularity in geospatial data processing and image classification. Geospatial data from various sources may contain errors, impacting image classification accuracy. Traditional pixel-based and object-based methods struggle to classify complex land cover classes accurately. Previous studies explored machine learning algorithms like Random Forests, K-Nearest Neighbors, and Neural Networks. Still, they faced challenges capturing intricate relationships within images and required substantial labeled training data, leading to computational expenses. SVM with polynomial kernels was attempted in some studies, but it suffered from potential overfitting and inefficiency for large datasets. To overcome these issues, this study employed SVM with RBF and Linear kernels to classify multispectral satellite images from the SPOT-6 Satellite Imagery dataset in Sungai Kelang, Malaysia. Previous research evaluated each kernel’s performance accuracy compared using a test dataset, utilizing open-source tools like Jupyter Notebooks and Python libraries to explore SVM’s potential as a high-performance satellite image classification technique. The findings revealed that SVM with RBF kernel outperformed SVM with polynomial or linear kernels in classifying satellite images. The RBF kernel’s robustness allowed SVM to model intricate decision boundaries and capture complex patterns in the image data, making it suitable for tasks with non-linearly separable data. The study introduces a new methodology and theoretical contribution to image classification-related literature, shedding light on the efficacy of SVM-RBF for geospatial data processing. It provides an alternative to traditional approaches for complex image classification tasks. IoT BotScan: Ultra-Lightweight AI Defense Against Botnet Threats

This research study examines the effectiveness of Deep Learning (DL) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms in identifying BotNet attacks within network infrastructures. Various algorithms, including Random Forests (RF), Decision Trees (DT), Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, were evaluated using the N-BaIoT dataset, which encompasses multiple BotNet attack types. The findings indicate that ML models, specifically RF and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), demonstrate superior performance in terms of recall, precision, and overall accuracy compared to DL methods, with KNN achieving the highest accuracy of 99.94% followed by RF and ETC (99.55%). Among DL models, CNN has the highest accuracy (86.20%). The study focuses on multiclass classification (11 classes) and employs 10-fold cross-validation to enhance model robustness and mitigate overfitting. Notably, the research emphasizes the significance of feature engineering and selection techniques in enhancing model performance by identifying critical indicators of BotNet activity. A key contribution of this study is the lightweight RF approach, which minimizes the number of features to reduce complexity. The insights gained from this research provide valuable information for academics and cybersecurity practitioners, aiding in the development of proactive defenses against evolving BotNet threats and promoting the advancement of resilient security measures for network infrastructures. © 2013 IEEE.

3D reconstruction based on single view aims to reconstruct the entire 3D shape of an object from one *** existing methods reconstruct the mesh surface of complex objects,the surface details are difficult to predict and the reconstruction visual effect is poor because the mesh representation is not easily integrated into the deep learning framework;the 3D topology is easily limited by predefined templates and inflexible,and unnecessary mesh self-intersections and connections will be generated when reconstructing complex topology,thus destroying the surface details;the training of the reconstruction network is limited by the large amount of information attached to the mesh vertices,and the training time of the reconstructed network is too *** this paper,we propose a method for fast mesh reconstruction from single view based on Graph Convolutional Network(GCN)and topology *** use GCN to ensure the generation of high-quality mesh surfaces and use topology modification to improve the flexibility of the ***,a feature fusion method is proposed to make full use of the features of each stage of the image *** use 3D open dataset ShapeNet to train our network and add a new weight parameter to speed up the training *** experiments demonstrate that our method can not only reconstruct object meshes on complex topological surfaces,but also has better qualitative and quantitative results.
