Likewise horticulture portion of worldwide GDP has recently contracted 3% just and we should create 70% more food by 2050. Without a doubt, high requests for food from the overall developing populace are affecting the climate and putting numerous weights on horticultural efficiency. The customary methodology of the horticulture is going through a principal change. Improving Generalization of Metric Learning via Listwise Self-distillation

Most deep metric learning (DML) methods employ a strategy that forces all positive samples to be close in the embedding space while keeping them away from negative ones. However, such a strategy ignores the internal relationships of positive (negative) samples and often leads to overfitting, especially in the presence of hard samples and mislabeled samples. In this work, we propose a simple yet effective regularization, namely Listwise Self-Distillation (LSD), which progressively distills a model's own knowledge to adaptively assign a more appropriate distance target to each sample pair in a batch. LSD encourages smoother embeddings and information mining within positive (negative) samples as a way to mitigate overfitting and thus improve generalization. Our LSD can be directly integrated into general DML frameworks. Extensive experiments show that LSD consistently boosts the performance of various metric learning methods on multiple datasets. Internet of Things enables devices to communicate, collect and exchange data with the network. As the number of IoT devices keeps growing, the volume of data they produce is also increasing exponentially. Given the feature of limited computing and storage resources of IoT, it is inevitable to store data in the cloud for better services. However, for users to effectively and efficiently inspect those data over the cloud is a critical and open problem. Most public integrity auditing over the cloud schemes requires the user to do a sheer amount of preprocessing work on the local devices, which is unsuitable for IoT devices. With the development of edge computing extending cloud computing, it can provide computing capability for resource-constrained devices in close geographic proximity. In this paper, we design an auditing scheme based on secure computation outsourcing assisted by edge computing, in which the data preprocessing work can be offloaded to the edge server. The experiments show that it reduces the computing load on the devices and improves the efficiency of task processing.

Integrating Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) models plays a pivotal role in enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of healthcare software, which is essential for patient safety and providing high-quality care. The precision of healthcare software is fundamental to protecting the well-being of the patient. In addition, it can ensure the delivery of superior care, maintain the integrity of healthcare systems, and promote trust and cost-effectiveness. It is necessary to emphasize the importance of software reliability in its development and deployment. Symbolic execution serves as a vital technology in automated vulnerability detection. However, symbolic execution often faces problems such as path explosion, which seriously affects efficiency. Although there have been several studies to reduce the number of computational paths in symbolic execution, this problem remains a major obstacle. Therefore, more efficient solutions are urgently needed to ensure the software security. This paper proposes a large-scale language model(LLM) induction method mitigating path explosion applied to symbolic execution engines. In contrast to traditional symbolic execution engines, which often result in timeout or out-of-memory detection, our approach achieves the task of detecting vulnerabilities in seconds. Furthermore, our proposal improves the scalability of symbolic execution, allowing more extensive and complex programs to be analyzed without significant increases in computational resources or time. This scalability is crucial to tackling modern software systems and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of automated defect verification in healthcare software. © 2025 IEEE. Photovoltaic solar cells degrade or even fail during long-term storage, affecting their conversion efficiency and lifetime. In this work, an industry-standard InGaP/GaAs/InGaAs multi-junction solar cell (MJSC) was monitoredin a non-working idle state for more than two years. The sub-cell degradation caused by prolonged storage and its origin have been revealed by using the absolute electroluminescence (EL) imaging technique. Several potential defects were found to gradually exacerbate over time, introducing more non-radiative recombination centers and reducing the sub-cell external radiative efficiency under low-injection conditions. Quantitative evaluation results show that long-term idle resultedin an over 0.2% efficiency degradation and an over 1% fill factor degradation for each sub-cell, which is mainly originated from the non-radiative recombination loss. © 2022 IEEE.

Geo-Localization via Ground-to-Satellite Cross-View Image Retrieval

The large variation of viewpoint and irrelevant content around the target always hinder accurate image retrieval and its subsequent tasks. In this paper, we investigate an extremely challenging task: given a ground-view image of a landmark, we aim to achieve cross-view geo-localization by searching out its corresponding satellite-view images. Specifically, the challenge comes from the gap between ground-view and satellite-view, which includes not only large viewpoint changes (some parts of the landmark may be invisible from front view to top view) but also highly irrelevant background (the target landmark tend to be hidden in other surrounding buildings), making it difficult to learn a common representation or a suitable mapping. To address this issue, we take advantage of drone-view information as a bridge between ground-view and satellite-view domains. We propose a Peer Learning and Cross Diffusion (PLCD) framework. PLCD consists of three parts: 1) a peer learning across ground-view and drone-view to find visible parts to benefit ground-drone cross-view representation learning;2) a patch-based network for satellite-drone cross-view representation learning;3) a cross diffusion between ground-drone space and satellite-drone space. Extensive experiments conducted on the University-Earth and University-Google datasets show that our method outperforms state-of-the-arts significantly. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are fueling a new paradigm of discoveries in natural sciences. Today, AI has started to advance natural sciences by improving, accelerating, and enabling our understanding of natural phenomena at a wide range of spatial and temporal scales, giving rise to a new area of research known as AI for science (AI4Science). Being an emerging research paradigm, AI4Science is unique in that it is an enormous and highly interdisciplinary area. Thus, a unified and technical treatment of this field is needed yet challenging. This work aims to provide a technically thorough account of a subarea of AI4Science;namely, AI for quantum, atomistic, and continuum systems. These areas aim at understanding the physical world from the subatomic (wavefunctions and electron density), atomic (molecules, proteins, materials, and interactions), to macro (fluids, climate, and subsurface) scales and form an important subarea of AI4Science. A unique advantage of focusing on these areas is that they largely share a common set of challenges, thereby allowing a unified and foundational treatment. A key common challenge is how to capture physics first principles, especially symmetries, in natural systems by deep learning methods. We provide an in-depth yet intuitive account of techniques to achieve equivariance to symmetry transformations. We also discuss other common technical challenges, including explainability, out-of-distribution generalization, knowledge transfer with foundation and large language models, and uncertainty quantification. To facilitate learning and education, we provide categorized lists of resources that we found to be useful. We strive to be thorough and unified and hope this initial effort may trigger more community interests and efforts to further advance AI4Science. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The lung is one of the prime respiratory organs in human physiology, and its abnormality will severely disrupt the respiratory system. Lung Nodule (LN) is one of the abnormalities, and early screening and treatment are necessary to reduce its harshness. The proposed work aims to implement the Convolutional-Neural-Network (CNN) segmentation methodology to extract the LN in various lung CT slices, such as axial, coronal, and sagittal planes. This work consists of the following phases;(i) Image collection and pre-processing, (ii) Ground-truth generation, (iii) CNN-supported segmentation, and (iv) Performance evaluation and validation. In this work, the merit of pre-trained CNN segmentation schemes is verified using (i) One-fold training and (ii) Two-fold training methods. The test images for this study are collected from The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) database. The experimental investigation is executed using Python®, and the outcome of this study confirms that the VGG-SegNet helps to get better values of Jaccard (>88%), Dice (>93%), and Accuracy (>96%) compared to other CNN methods. © 2023 The Authors. The eye is the prime sensory organ in physiology, and the abnormality in the eye severely influences the vision system. Therefore, eye irregularity is commonly assessed using imaging schemes, and Fundus Retinal Image (FRI) supported eye screening is one of the ophthalmological practices. This work proposed a Deep-Learning Procedure (DLP) to recognize Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) in FI. The proposed work presents the experimental work with different DLP methods found in the literature. This work is executed with two modes;(i) DR detection using conventional deep-features and (ii) DR discovery using deep ensemble features. To demonstrate this work, 1800 fundus images (900 regular and 900 DR class) are considered for the assessment, and the advantage of proposed plan is confirmed using various performance metrics. The experimental outcome of this study confirms that the AlexNet-based detection provides a better detection (>96%), and the deep ensemble features of AlexNet, VGG16, and ResNet18 provide a detection accuracy of >98% on the chosen FRI database. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. Cloud storage services offer flexible, convenient solutions for business and personal users to store data. Traditionally, Third Party Auditors (TPAs) are introduced to ensure data integrity for public auditing. However, TPAs may also be untrusted for forging the auditing results or colluding with cloud storage servers to deceive users. In this paper, we propose a novel Blockchain-based Public Auditing Outsourcing system without TPAs (BPAO), in which the computationally expensive operations in public auditing are outsourced through blockchain to the cloud servers without risking users' privacy. Our security analysis indicates that BPAO achieves soundness and robustness. The experimental results show that BPAO is computationally efficient for cloud storage user. © 2021 IEEE.
