This study utilizes geotagged microphone technology to analyze vehicular mobility patterns and noise pollution in Indian suburban regions. Audio data capturing traffic scenarios were meticulously calibrated using a Sound Pressure Level Meter (SPLM) and manual markers to identify five mobility types. A novel approach employing a modified Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) was developed to accurately extract vehicles and characterize mobility patterns, achieving an impressive 92.1% accuracy rate. Particularly it shows significant performance in identifying light mobility events (95% accuracy) and honking events (65% accuracy), surpassing conventional method gaining knowledge of and deep learning strategies. Integrating the modified CNN into the pipeline superposed recognition technique by 4.12%. The version gives special insights into vehicular speed and noise characteristics, facilitating specific detection of mobility patterns. The advent of mobility maps contributes to Earth Science informatics by using integrating geospatial analysis with advanced neural network strategies, imparting a comprehensive information of vehicular mobility and noise dynamics in Indian suburban environments. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) is a general-purpose algorithm for combinatorial optimization that has been a promising avenue for near-term quantum advantage. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the QAOA on the spiked tensor model, a statistical estimation problem that exhibits a large computational-statistical gap classically. We prove that the weak recovery threshold of 1-step QAOA matches that of 1-step tensor power iteration. Additional heuristic calculations suggest that the weak recovery threshold of p-step QAOA matches that of p-step tensor power iteration when p is a fixed constant. This further implies that multi-step QAOA with tensor unfolding could achieve, but not surpass, the asymptotic classical computation threshold Θ(n(q-2)/4) for spiked q-tensors. Meanwhile, we characterize the asymptotic overlap distribution for p-step QAOA, discovering an intriguing sine-Gaussian law verified through simulations. For some p and q, the QAOA has an effective recovery threshold that is a constant factor better than tensor power iteration. Of independent interest, our proof techniques employ the Fourier transform to handle difficult combinatorial sums, a novel approach differing from prior QAOA analyses on spin-glass models without planted structure. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Multilevel inverters (MLI) have gained a significant emphasis in the area of renewable energy applications in recent years. The popularity of MLIs is due to their ability to efficiently convert the sustainable sources of energy, such as wind and solar power, into usable electrical energy. One key advantage of using reduced multilevel inverter configurations is that it can help to reduce the system overall cost by decreasing number of components required. The reduction of components in the inverter circuit results in simplification of design and lower expenditure. This paper proposes a fifteen-level modified multilevel inverter with cascaded h-bridge with a minimized switch count. The simulation results of the proposed inverter demonstrate that it is able to effectively attenuate harmonics and with reduced number of components required while still providing good performance. The suggested inverter design is also evaluated on its harmonic reduction characteristics, providing a cleaner output waveform and less distortion. © 2023 IEEE.

The growth of the popularization of blockchain technology has caused new concepts to emerge. Non-Fungible Token (NFT) is one of these concepts introduced based on blockchain technology in 2017. As newly-emerged concepts, NFTs have rapidly become a popular technology in industry and academic research. NFTs currently have various applications in the industry, which are reviewed in the present study. They have also attracted a broad spectrum of research. Metaverse is another exciting blockchain-based technology that enables people to connect with digital avatars in a virtual universe. The importance of this study is to identify new applications of NFTs in the Metaverse making NFTs more applicable. Assisting with identity management and ownership right of digital assets are examples of NFT applications in the Metaverse that are explained in this study in detail. The technology of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) is lately being considered as a boosting component for various indoor wireless applications, enabling wave propagation control and coverage extension. However, the incorporation of extremely large RISs, as recently being considered for ultrahigh capacity industrial environments at subTHz frequencies, imposes certain challenges for indoor channel characterization. In particular, such RISs contribute additional multipath components and their large sizes with respect to the signal wavelength lead to near-field propagation. To this end, ray tracing approaches become quite cumbersome and need to be rerun for different RIS unit cell designs. In this paper, we present a novel approach for the incorporation of RISs in indoor multipath environments towards their efficient channel characterization. An 100 × 100 RIS design with 2-bit resolution unit cells realizing a fixed anomalous reflection at 300 GHz is presented, whose radar cross section patterns are obtained via full-wave simulations. It is showcased that the RIS behavior can be conveniently approximated by a three-ray model, which can be efficiently incorporated within available ray tracing tools, and that the far-field approximation is valid for even very small distances from the RIS.

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted transmission and space shift keying (SSK) appear as promising candidates for future energy-efficient wireless systems. In this article, two RIS-based SSK schemes are proposed to efficiently improve the error and throughput performance of conventional SSK systems, respectively. The first one, termed RIS-SSK with passive beamforming (RIS-SSK-PB), employs an RIS for beamforming and targets the maximization of the minimum squared Euclidean distance between any two decision points. The second one, termed RIS-SSK with Alamouti space-time block coding (RIS-SSK-ASTBC), employs an RIS for ASTBC and enables the RIS to transmit its own Alamouti-coded information while reflecting the incident SSK signals to the destination. A low-complexity beamformer and an efficient maximum-likelihood (ML) detector are designed for RIS-SSK-PB and RIS-SSK-ASTBC, respectively. Approximate expressions for the average bit error probabilities of the source and/or the RIS are derived in closed-form assuming ML detection. Extensive computer simulations are conducted to verify the performance analysis. Results show that RIS-SSK-PB significantly outperforms the existing RIS-free and RIS-based SSK schemes, and RIS-SSK-ASTBC enables highly reliable transmission with throughput improvement. © 2020 IEEE.

The multi-hopping mechanism features in the wireless network environment, in which all nodes contain the information of link and connectivity in any infrastructure less manner. When mobile devices either jump from their original network or change their location without describing any fashion, it is named mobile ad hoc network MANET. To ensure the up to date information related to the location and to provide the routing traffic of the node, numerous protocols have been used to remain efficient in achieving this for instance, AODV, DSR, DSDV etc. While we, the peer-to-peer networking, have challenges in many places, security is something that warrants attention more than any other things. The signal corruption hampers data transmission in bedwire networks when the attacks take place. This kind of activity can touch anyone including the layers lying above the physical and below the network layer. In the current discussion we developed, proposition of diversified, efficient and secure AI-based X-AODV routing protocol. We have investigated our proposed protocol against the recent modified two protocols which are SAODV and ARAN. The outcome of simulation reveals that our proposed routing protocol takes place in successfully performing of attack detection and is also the best when it comes to providing security and performance. The Simulation outcomes exhibit the Networks' performance improvement.

Anatomical magnetic resonance images are affected by different types of noise, including thermal, motion, radio interference, and magnetic field inhomogeneities. In a clinical setting, acquiring MR images of the highest quality is not always feasible. Quantitative and artificial intelligencebased decision support tools require high-quality data to accurately differentiate among pathological conditions, avoiding diminishing the clinical relevance of a diagnostic model. A fully convolutional model with no pooling layers was trained on a set of noisy images, with the ground truth being the original image without the noise. Different levels of noise were incorporated into the training set. The experiments showed a reduction in noise levels, but it can impact quantification tasks when T2ws without noise are provided to the model. Six types of pairs of original T2w image slices and the corresponding slices with synthetic noise were generated with various thresholds of Gaussian noise, spanning from 4% to 14%. Starting in the 2024/25 season, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has fundamentally changed the format of its club competitions: the group stage has been replaced by a league phase played by 36 teams in an incomplete round robin format. This makes ranking the teams based on their results challenging because teams play against different sets of opponents, whose strengths vary. In this research note, we apply several well-known ranking methods for incomplete round robin tournaments to the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League league phase.
