This study explored the application of CNN-Transfer Learning for nondestructive chicken egg fertility detection for precise poultry hatchery practices. Four models, VGG16, ResNet50, InceptionNet, and MobileNet, were trained and evaluated on a dataset (200 single egg images) using augmented images (rotation, flip, scale, translation, and reflection). The training results demonstrated that all models achieved high accuracy, indicating their ability to learn and classify chicken eggs’ fertility. However, variations in accuracy and performance were observed when these models were evaluated on the testing datasets. The InceptionNet exhibited the best overall performance, accurately classifying fertile and non-fertile eggs. It demonstrated excellent performance in all parameters of the evaluation metrics for both training and testing datasets. When evaluated on the testing datasets, it achieved an accuracy of 0.98, a sensitivity of 1 for detecting fertile eggs, and a specificity of 0.96 for identifying non-fertile eggs. The higher performance is attributed to its unique architecture, efficiently capturing features at different scales, which leads to improved accuracy and robustness. Further optimization and fine-tuning of the models might be necessary to address the limitations in accurately detecting fertile and non-fertile eggs using other models. Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) is an emerging technology in both the industrial and academic research. The major drawback in MANETs is improving the battery capacity. MANETs are dynamic in nature therefore during communication it consumes more energy that reduces the overall energy efficiency of the network. Many past and present researches are concern about this problem. In this paper, Energy Preservation in MANETs using Self-Adaptive Cluster Head Selection with Advanced Genetic Algorithm (EPMSA-CHAG) approach is proposed where the CH selection is performed using two segments;they are initial parameter based on CH selection and Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA) based CH selection. At the initial stage the parameters which are considered for the CH selection are node degree, node stability, distance, residual energy, and speed and delivery rate. Using these parameters are the best fit for CH selection is chosen then in order to find the optimal best fit from the best fit calculation, Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA). The proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach is simulated using NS2 and the parameters which are considered for the performance analysis are packet delivery rate, energy efficiency, end to end delay, routing overhead and throughput. The methods that are taken for the comparative analysis are HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD. From the results calculated it is proven that the proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach achieved high packet delivery rate, energy efficiency and throughput as well as lower end to end delay and routing overhead when compared with the earlier methods HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD. © 2023 IEEE.

Treewidth serves as an important parameter that, when bounded, yields tractability for a wide class of problems. For example, graph problems expressible in Monadic Second Order (MSO) logic and Quantified SAT or, more generally, Quantified CSP, are fixed-parameter tractable parameterized by the treewidth of the input’s (primal) graph plus the length of the MSO-formula [Courcelle, Information & Computation 1990] and the quantifier rank [Chen, ECAI 2004], respectively. The algorithms generated by these (meta-)results have running times whose dependence on treewidth is a tower of exponents. A conditional lower bound by Fichte, Hecher, and Pfandler [LICS 2020] shows that, for Quantified SAT, the height of this tower is equal to the number of quantifier alternations. These types of lower bounds, which show that at least double-exponential factors in the running time are necessary, exhibit the extraordinary level of computational hardness for such problems, and are rare in the current literature: there are only a handful of such lower bounds (for treewidth and vertex cover parameterizations) and all of them are for problems that are #NP-complete, Σp2-complete, Πp2-complete, or complete for even higher levels of the polynomial hierarchy. Our results demonstrate, for the first time, that it is not necessary to go higher up in the polynomial hierarchy to achieve double-exponential lower bounds: we derive double-exponential lower bounds in the treewidth (tw) and the vertex cover number (vc), for natural, important, and well-studied NP-complete graph problems. Specifically, we design a technique to obtain such lower bounds and show its versatility by applying it to three different problems: Metric Dimension, Strong Metric Dimension, and Geodetic Set. We prove that these problems do not admit 22o(tw) ·nO(1)-time algorithms, even on bounded diameter graphs, unless the ETH fails (here, n is the number of vertices in the graph). The paper presents current design issues, limitations, and fabrication challenges towards the development of hybrid integrated optical circuits with embedded single photon sources, which are critical components for future quantum computing, sensing, and communication systems. Optical nanowires with embedded quantum dots (NWQD) are very promising single photon sources, with several reported results of integration in high index platforms like silicon or silicon nitride. Silica on silicon is a favorable platform for optical computing, providing the high degree of customization when combined with direct laser writing techniques for definition of optical structures with refractive index modification. However, the low ~10 -3 achievable refractive index contrast imposes strict limitations on the compatibility with NWQD resulting in general in low coupling efficiency as shown in this work. Consideration of several design and fabrication issues demonstrates the potential for NQWD integration in laser written silica based optical circuits with adequate efficiency for practical applications.

This study addresses the burgeoning demand for website data collection and analysis in business operations, emphasizing the pivotal role of web analytics in providing crucial insights into customer behaviour. Despite the prevalence of various website traffic analysing tools, there exists a notable lack of comprehensive testing on the precision and reliability of these services. The research compares four key analytics measures from Google Analytics (GA) with SimilarWeb (SW) using average monthly statistics over a one-year period for 50+ websites across different nations and business verticals. Employing various statistical tests, including paired t-tests, Shapiro-Wilk tests, and correlation analysis, the study reveals statistically significant variations in key metrics between GA and SW. Notably, SimilarWeb tends to provide lower estimates for the number of visits and unique visitors compared to Google Analytics. However, the findings underscore the potential complementarity of using both tools in cases where direct access to a site’s analytics is not feasible, particularly for competitive intelligence and benchmarking purposes. The study’s extensive statistical analysis covers unique visitors, total visits, bounce rates, and average session duration, offering valuable insights into the nuanced variations and potential sources of error. There are statistically significant differences between the two web traffic tools in terms of unique visitors, total visits, average session time & bounce rates. In comparison to Google Analytics, SimilarWeb figures were on average, 40% less for unique visitors, 50% greater for average session time, 25% greater for bounce rate, and 20% lesser for total visits. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The use of in-band full-duplex (FD) enables nodes to simultaneously transmit and receive on the same frequency band, which challenges the traditional assumption in wireless network design. The full-duplex capability enhances spectral efficiency and decreases latency, which are two key drivers pushing the performance expectations of next-generation mobile networks. In less than ten years, in-band FD has advanced from being demonstrated in research labs to being implemented in standards, presenting new opportunities to utilize its foundational concepts. Some of the most significant opportunities include using FD to enable wireless networks to sense the physical environment, integrate sensing and communication applications, develop integrated access and backhaul solutions, and work with smart signal propagation environments powered by reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. However, these new opportunities also come with new challenges for large-scale commercial deployment of FD technology, such as managing self-interference, combating cross-link interference in multi-cell networks, and coexistence of dynamic time division duplex, subband FD and FD networks. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

The largest withstanding army in India is the military force. The soldiers in the army have the most significant responsibility to safeguard the life of the people besides monitoring their health. Health monitoring is challenging in varying climatic factors under difficult situations. It is essential to monitor their blood pressure, heartbeat, and Oxygen (O2) level. This research develops a new system to monitor the soldier’s health using the internet of technology (IoT) and also tracks the location of the soldiers for proceeding with the other process immediately according to the situation. The proposed system consists of two basic units – the wearable device and the control unit. The soldier holds the wearable device, which is implemented with a temperature sensor, O2 level indicator, and heartbeat sensor. This unit manages and observes the soldier’s wellness embedded with the global positioning system (GPS) technology to track the location of the soldiers, which aids in the transmission of data to another unit in the control room. This research utilizes different sensors like a temperature sensor to recognize temperature, a sound sensor to distinguish sound created, a PIR sensor to identify individuals, a heartbeat sensor to recognize heartbeat, and an Oxygen sensor to distinguish oxygen level. The multi-layer inference system conserves the device’s battery power with 98.5% data reduction compared to other well-known methods. GSM technique is additionally utilized for sending messages to higher authorities.

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer. Every year, it has a significant effect on the lives of tens of millions of individuals. Approximately three million people are told they have it every year for the United States only. Survival rates are much lower at that point. In proportion to the severity of the condition. Yet, early skin cancer screening is a difficult and expensive process. The four main phases in skin cancer detection are preprocessing, segmentation, feature extraction, and classification. Because it improves the odds of successfully treating cancer, early detection is vital. In this study, Otsu's thresholding is utilized to distinguish the foreground from the background after the Gaussian filter has been applied during the pre-processing stage. The histogram equalization phase of the pre-processing stage uses the input from the median filter to remove noise. Compatibility of Grey-Level Signals, normalization for symmetry extraction of skin lesion characteristics are done by using GLCM matrix. Afterwards, the proposed model is trained via CKELM. When compared to other state-of-the-art models like CNN and KELM, the proposed model achieves a higher accuracy of around 98%.

In this paper, we study the problem of extremely large (XL) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel estimation in the Terahertz (THz) frequency band, considering the presence of propagation delays across the entire array apertures, which leads to frequency selectivity, a problem known as beam squint. Multi-carrier transmission schemes which are usually deployed to address this problem, suffer from high peak-to-average power ratio, which is specifically dominant in THz communications where low transmit power is realized. Diverging from the usual approach, we devise a novel channel estimation problem formulation in the time domain for single-carrier (SC) modulation, which favors transmissions in THz, and incorporate the beam-squint effect in a sparse vector recovery problem that is solved via sparse optimization tools. In particular, the beam squint and the sparse MIMO channel are jointly tracked by using an alternating minimization approach that decomposes the two estimation problems. The presented performance evaluation results validate that the proposed SC technique exhibits superior performance than the conventional one as well as than state-of-the-art multi-carrier approaches. © 2023, CC BY.

Symmetry is fundamental in the description and simulation of quantum systems. Leveraging symmetries in classical simulations of many-body quantum systems often results in an exponential overhead due to the exponentially growing size of some symmetry groups as the number of particles increases. Quantum computers hold the promise of achieving exponential speedup in simulating quantum many-body systems;however, a general method for utilizing symmetries in quantum simulations has not yet been established. In this work, we present a unified framework for incorporating symmetry groups into the simulation of many-body systems on quantum computers. The core of our approach lies in the development of efficient quantum circuits for symmetry-adapted projection onto irreducible representations of a group or pairs of commuting groups. We provide resource estimations for common groups, including the cyclic and permutation groups. Our algorithms demonstrate the capability to prepare coherent superpositions of symmetry-adapted states and to perform quantum evolution across a wide range of models in condensed matter physics and ab initio electronic structure in quantum chemistry. Specifically, we execute a symmetry-adapted quantum subroutine for small molecules in first quantization on noisy hardware, and demonstrate the emulation of symmetry-adapted quantum phase estimation for preparing coherent superpositions of quantum states in various irreps of a symmetry group. In addition, we present a discussion of major open problems regarding the use of symmetries in digital quantum simulations of many-body systems, paving the way for future systematic investigations into leveraging symmetries for practical quantum advantage. The broad applicability and rigorous resource estimation for symmetry transformations make our framework appealing for achieving provable quantum advantage on fault-tolerant quantum computers.
