Complex Event Processing (CEP) is a set of tools and techniques that can be used to obtain insights from high-volume, high-velocity continuous streams of events. CEP-based systems have been adopted in many situations that require prompt establishment of system diagnostics and execution of reaction plans, such as in monitoring of complex systems. This article describes the Query Analyzer and Manager (QAM) module, a first effort toward the development of a CEP as a Service (CEPaaS) system. This module is responsible for analyzing user-defined CEP queries and for managing their execution in distributed cloud-based environments. Using a language-agnostic internal query representation, QAM has a modular design that enables its adoption by virtually any CEP system.

Due to the sudden eruption of activity in the social networking domain, analysts, social media as well as general public are drawn to Sentiment Analysis domain to gain invaluable information. In this paper, we go beyond basic sentiment classification (positive, negative and neutral) and target deeper emotion classification of Twitter data. We have focused on emotion identification into Ekman's six basic emotions i.e. JOY, SURPRISE, ANGER, DISGUST, FEAR and SADNESS. We have employed two diverse machine learning algorithms with three varied datasets and analyzed their outcomes. We show how equal distribution of emotions in training tweets results in better learning accuracies and hence better performance in the classification task.

Broadband is an important tool for increasing productivity and competitiveness. This paper attempts to measure the accumulative impact and effectiveness of broadband public infrastructures and services on the economy of South East Europe (SEE) areas. To this direction, we focus on evaluating the correlation between broadband and each country's growth and employment. Moreover, we estimate the cost savings achieved by the extended usage of e-services, and we evaluate the potential cost savings that will follow the increase of e-services utilization the next years. The results of our analysis show that broadband may have positive impact on growth and employment and that the possible savings are substantial.

The paper presents constraint satisfaction problem driven approach to analytical solution of the cyclic scheduling problem in the Flexible Manufacturing System(FMS) producing multi-type parts where for material handling are used the Automated Guide Vehicles Systems(AGVS). Finding the conditions guaranteeing the AGVs deadlock-free and collision-free movement policy is the aim of our researches. The AGVs co-sharing the common parts of the transportation route while executing repetitive processes, i.e. being assigned to AGVs passing along machines in a cyclic way, can be modeled in terms of Cyclic Concurrent Process Systems(CCPS). Schedulability analysis for a given CCPS answers the question whether a cyclic schedule exists or not. The paper suggests approach for schedulability analysis of multimodal processes representing real manufacturing employing the declarative modeling.
