Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) are becoming more essential to wireless communications due to growing popularity of mobile devices. Many researchers have committed effort to enhance the Multimedia (video) transmission over MANETs. Various algorithms and mechanisms concerning the optimization of multimedia transmission have been presented. In this work we evaluate the effect of using multiple interfaces and multiple channels per node in the performance of already existing MANET routing protocols during video transmission. The evaluation shows that all routing protocols benefit from using multiple interfaces and multiple channels per node, and the video transmission over MANETs is improved.

In this paper, a novel fuzzy measure, high order lambda measure, was proposed, based on the Choquet integral with respect to this new measure, a novel composition forecasting model which composed the GM(1,1) forecasting model, the time series model and the exponential smoothing model was also proposed. For evaluating the efficiency of this improved composition forecasting model, an experiment with a real data by using the 5 fold cross validation mean square error was conducted. The performances of Choquet integral composition forecasting model with the P-measure, Lambda-measure, L-measure and high order lambda measure, respectively, a ridge regression composition forecasting model and a multiple linear regression composition forecasting model and the traditional linear weighted composition forecasting model were compared. The experimental results showed that the Choquet integral composition forecasting model with respect to the high order lambda measure has the best performance. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Gait recognition has lately attracted the attention of a plethora of computer vision and biometric systems researchers. It offers advantages like non-invasiveness, data acquisition from a distance and low resolution. The geometric area between the limbs derived from the spatial-temporal silhouettes serves as an effective feature that is capable of differentiating subjects. Both model-based and model-free approaches are tried while extracting features for the gait recognition. Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier is used for training the features from silhouettes of the known gaits and identifying the unknown gaits based on the same features. Experimentation on the silhouette samples of publicly available CASIA database vindicates the supremacy of the model based approach over the model free approach.

This paper addresses the problem of transferring useful knowledge from a source network to predict node labels in a newly formed target network. While existing transfer learning research has primarily focused on vector-based data, in which the inst.nces are assumed to be independent and identically distributed, how to effectively transfer knowledge across different information networks has not been well studied, mainly because networks may have their distinct node features and link relationships between nodes. In this paper, we propose a new transfer learning algorithm that attempts to transfer common latent structure features across the source and target networks. The proposed algorithm discovers these latent features by constructing label propagation matrices in the source and target networks, and mapping them into a shared latent feature space. The latent features capture common structure patterns shared by two networks, and serve as domain-independent features to be transferred between networks. Together with domain-dependent node features, we thereafter propose an iterative classification algorithm that leverages label correlations to predict node labels in the target network. Experiments on real-world networks demonstrate that our proposed algorithm can successfully achieve knowledge transfer between networks to help improve the accuracy of classifying nodes in the target network.

In this study, we perform a device evaluation from trial device production (a computer simulation) using technology CAD (TCAD) in an integrated circuit consistent education system, which consists of a series of processes: system design, semiconductor process, trial device production, and device evaluation. By changing the device parameters (kinds of material, film thickness, impurities density) of the semiconductor process, the simulation can more closely approximate the electrical property of the desired target performance. By integrating the simulation technology using TCAD with each piece of knowledge mastered by the integrated circuit consistent education system, which is currently under development, we are able to construct an education system that can be mastered not only for an integrated circuit for information processing but also for the semiconductor process and the global perspective of the device structure in a power device. Furthermore, the possibility of applicability to a new device structure and process development is shown by means of a simulation using TCAD in virtual processing conditions.

To implement new algorithm assessing the previous work is an important part of system. The aim of this paper is to give a review of VLSI architectures for efficient methods for the implementation of DWT through Lifting schemes. The lifting scheme has wide applications and advantages over the DWT. Filters are complicated because of much number of multipliers. As multiplier decide the critical computation time and power dissipation of a signal processing architecture, designing of high throughput and power efficient multiplier is a major challenge. To reduce the complexity of the architecture and to increase the performance of the system this study will deriving an efficient method.

In this paper we present a solution to the problem of positioning a team of Micro Aerial Vehicles for a surveillance task in an environment of arbitrary and unknown morphology. The problem is addressed taking into account physical and environmental constraints like limited sensor capabilities and obstacle avoidance. The goal is to maximize the area monitored by the team, by identifying the best configuration of the team members. The proposed method is a distributed extension of our previous work based on the Cognitive Adaptive Optimization (CAO) algorithm. This distributed and scalable approach allows us to obtain coordinated and safe trajectories to accomplish the task in 3D environments. The different formulation of the problem considered in this paper allows also dealing with communication constraints. We provide extensive experimental results using data collected by a team of aerial robots and compare the efficiency of the distributed and centralized approach.

Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) fleet scheduling is one of the big problems in Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) control. The problem is more complicated when concurrent multi-product manufacturing and resource deadlock avoidance policies are considered. The objective of the research is to provide a declarative model enabling to state a constraint satisfaction problem aimed at AGVs fleet scheduling subject to assumed itineraries of concurrently manufactured product types. In other words, assuming a given layout of FMS's material handling and production routes of simultaneously manufactured orders, the main objective is to provide the declarative framework aimed at conditions allowing one to calculate the AGVs fleet schedule in online mode. An illustrative example of the relevant algebra-like driven step-by-stem cyclic scheduling is provided.

This paper concerns multimodal transport systems (MTS) represented by a supernetworks in which several unimodal networks are connected by transfer links and focuses on the scheduling problems encountered in these systems. Assuming unimodal networks are modeled as cyclic lines, i.e. the routes determining stream-like moving transportation means, a problem of an alternative itinerary selection for an origin-destination (O-D) trip in the context of emergency relief is considered. Emergency relief dealing with the contingency events and deciding on MTS robustness can be evaluated in terms of feasible itineraries for assumed (O-D) trip. Since itinerary planning problem, constitutes a common routing and scheduling decision faced by travelers, hence the main question regards of itinerary re-planning and particularly a method aimed at prototyping of mode sequences and paths selections. The declarative model of multimodal processes driven itinerary planning problem is our main contribution. Illustrative examples providing alternative itineraries in some cases of MTS malfunction are presented.
