Recently we developed an image reconstruction procedure aimed to unify gated imaging and dynamic imaging in nuclear cardiac imaging. It can yield a single image sequence to show simultaneously both cardiac motion and tracer distribution change over the course of imaging. In this work, we further develop and investigate the feasibility of our gated dynamic imaging procedure for perfusion defect detection in cardiac SPECT imaging, where the challenge is even greater without using fast camera rotations. We study the saliency of temporal kinetic information derived from the reconstructed dynamic images for differentiating defects from normal cardiac perfusion. We also propose several metrics to characterize the salient kinetic information in gated dynamic images. The proposed development was demonstrated using simulated gated cardiac imaging with the NCAT phantom and Tc 99m -Teboroxime as the imaging agent.

It's very hard to guarantee high image quality whenconverting standard-definition television (SDTV) images tohigh-definition television (HDTV) images because of the greatdifference of image resolution between them. Moreover, thechange in pixel shape from rectangular to square makes thetraditional image zooming methods impossible to do theconversion. Based on this reason, we propose an ImprovedBilinear Interpolation Algorithm: using the CenterCoordinates of Pixels to do bilinear interpolation (IBIACCP).This method can correct the color values of HDTV images bycorrecting the pixels' x and y coordinates since a pixel's colorvalue is a function of its x and y coordinates in interpolationalgorithms. Considering the huge enlarging multiples, we dosharpening treatment to the HDTV images after theinterpolation. Experiments show that IBIACCP can greatlyimprove the quality of HDTV images comparing withtraditional bilinear interpolation algorithm.

This paper presents a novel action selection method for multi robot task sharing problem. Two autonomous mobile robots try to cooperate for push a box to a goal position. Both robots equipped with object and goal sensing, but do not have explicit communication ability. We explore the use of fuzzy signatures and decision making system to intention guessing and efficient action selection. Virtual reality simulation is used to build and test our proposed algorithm.

Any communication model can be well characterized by locality properties and, any topology has its intrinsic, structural, locality characteristics. Spatial locality of processing cores in a multi-core chip can be exploited to gain computational efficiency of a network on chip. In this paper we propose a new criterion in performance evaluation of NoC architecture that is based on the concept of group locality in an interconnection network, the "lower layer complete connect". TriBA a new idea in multi-core architectures and a direct interconnection network (DIN), is compared with 2D mesh on single chip multi core architecture. TriBA consists of a 2D grid of small, programmable processing units, each physically connected to its three neighbors so that advantageous features of group locality can be fully and efficiently utilized for getting maximum out of an on-chip interconnection of cores. Cores on the same chip are connected via triplet-based hierarchical interconnection network (THIN), which has simple topology and computing locality characteristic. We have modeled execution of dense matrix and sorting algorithm on an on-chip multi core interconnection network. Our results show that triplet based interconnection architecture has strong spatial locality characteristics in comparison to the conventional 2D mesh. The computational efficiency of triplet based interconnection is remarkable when the number of processing cores increase substantially.

This paper presents an overview of learning to rank. It includes three parts: related concepts including the definitions of ranking and learning to rank; a summary of pointwise models, pairwise models, and listwise models; estimation measures such as Normalized Discount Cumulative Gain and Mean Average Precision, respectively. Considering the deficiency that current learning to rank models lack of continual learning ability, we present a new continual learning idea that combines multi-agent autonomy learning mechanism with molecular immune mechanism for ranking.

In New Zealand and Australia, the BRACElet project has been investigating students' acquisition of programming skills in introductory programming courses. The project has explored students' skills in basic syntax, tracing code, understanding code, and writing code, seeking to establish the relationships between these skills. This ITiCSE working group report presents the most recent step in the BRACElet project, which includes replication of earlier analysis using a far broader pool of naturally occurring data, refinement of the SOLO taxonomy in code-explaining questions, extension of the taxonomy to code-writing questions, extension of some earlier studies on students' 'doodling' while answering exam questions, and exploration of a further theoretical basis for work that until now has been primarily empirical.

Due to the factors like processing power limitations and channel capabilities images are often down sampled and transmitted at low bit rates resulting in a low resolution compressed image. High resolution images can be reconstructed from several blurred, noisy and down sampled low resolution images using a computational process know as super resolution reconstruction. The problem of recovering a high resolution image from a sequence of low resolution compressed images is considered. In this paper, we propose lifting schemes for intentionally introducing down sampling of the high resolution image sequence before compression and then utilize super resolution techniques for generating a high resolution image at the decoder. Lifting wavelet transform has its advantages over the ordinary wavelet transform by way of reduction in memory required for its implementation. This is possible because lifting transform uses in-place computation. The lifting coefficients replace the image samples present in the respective memory locations. In our proposed approach the forward lifting is applied to the high resolution images which are compressed using set portioning in hierarchical trees (SPHIT), the compressed images are transmitted which results in low resolution images at the encoder, at the decoder super resolution techniques are applied; lifting scheme based fusion is performed, then decoded using DSPIHT and Inverse lifting is applied. In order to remove noise from the reconstructed image soft thresholding is performed and the blur is removed using blind deconvolution, and finally interpolated using our novel interpolation technique. We have performed both objective and subjective analysis of the reconstructed image, and the resultant image has better super resolution factor, and a higher ISNR and PSNR.

Image segmentation is a technique that partitioned the input image into prerequisite semantic unique regions. Segmentation should stop as object of interest in an application is isolated. The ultimate goal is to make the image more simplified one and that to get more meaningful to analyze. Number of segmentation techniques are available but none of them satisfy the global properties and thus remain challenge for researcher. Many computer applications like object recognition, automatic pictorial pattern recognition, automatic traffic control are based on this analysis. As per need of an application segmentation techniques can be selected. This survey addressed various segmentation techniques, discussed fundamental methodologies, and issues related with specific techniques. It discussed its limitations and probable solution to recover it. It also includes discussion on segmentation technique based on graph partitioning which would be helpful to add intelligence for prediction. Concept of ontology is introduced in short as technical bridge in between segmentation and image prediction.

In societal applications of systems science where competition under conflicting interests is pertinent to, the decision making faces situations in which one must decide whether to cooperate or not with a competitor or opponent. Each of the opponents (‘players’) has as well as carries own missions within the society out. At least two if not more parties need to make decisions under fully or partially conflicting objectives when involved in a dispute or open conflict. By and large decisions must be made under risk, uncertainty, and incomplete or fuzzy information implying large amounts of linguistic and probabilistic information. For cases of two opponents, the synergy of fuzzy control approach and matrix games seems rather effective to represent and find solutions for such multi-criteria conflicting situations. The fuzzy procedure is used to take into account some of the subjective attitudes of the decision makers that are difficult to model using classical game theory.
