Synthesis of batik motifs using a diffusion - generative adversarial network

This paper presents a novel approach for generating intricate Batik motifs using a modified Diffusion-Generative Adversarial Network (Diffusion-GAN) augmented with StyleGAN2-Ada. Motivated by the rich cultural heritage of Indonesian Batik, our research addresses the challenge of synthesizing high-quality, diverse patterns that capture the artistry and complexity of traditional designs. Traditional generative models often struggle with stability and fidelity in artistic synthesis. We integrate StyleGAN2-Ada and Diffusion techniques to overcome these limitations, optimizing model architecture and employing a curated Batik dataset. Evaluation metrics including Frechet Inception Distance (FID), Kernel Inception Distance (KID), precision, recall, and non-redundancy assess the quality and diversity of generated motifs. Our results demonstrate significant advancements in the realism and authenticity of synthesized Batik patterns, leveraging Diffusion-GAN to enhance detail and artistic fidelity. By exploring the intersection of deep learning and cultural art, this research contributes to the preservation and evolution of Batik as a cultural artifact. References to prior works underscore the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cultural heritage preservation, highlighting the potential of modern AI techniques to innovate within traditional art forms like Batik. In summary, this study showcases the efficacy of the proposed Diffusion-GAN methodology in synthesizing original and convincing Batik motifs, while identifying opportunities for further refinement and complexity in motif synthesis. Enhancing demand forecasting through combination of anomaly detection and continuous improvement

Demand forecasting has emerged as a crucial element in supply chain management. It is essential to identify anomalous data and continuously improve the forecasting model with new data. However, existing literature fails to comprehensively cover both aspects of anomaly detection and continuous improvement in demand forecasting. This study proposes an enhanced model to improve accuracy in the demand forecasting. The proposed model introduces a novel data handling method that incorporates an anomaly detection autoencoder, improved with anomaly correction mechanisms. The data handling approach simultaneously detects data anomalies, distinguishes between expected and unexpected anomalies, and corrects anomalous data, ensuring cleaner input for demand forecasting. Then, the proposed model employs a long short-term memory architecture for demand forecasting, enhanced with a continuous improvement method. Thus, the model not only forecasts demand but also retrains the model when the anomaly data surpasses the predetermined threshold, thereby improving the accuracy of forecasting. The results show that the proposed model outperforms other models in detecting data anomalies, achieving an average precision-recall of 0.922, a receiver operating characteristic value of 0.739, and a significance level of less than 0.05. Finally, the model exhibits superior performance in demand forecasting, with average mean squared error, root mean squared error, and mean absolute error values of 33.167, 4.347, and 1.509, respectively, all with a significance level of less than 0.05. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

As a high-level programming language, Python supports user-friendly coding and system integration. It is not only used for data analytics but is also applied in software development. Although it has several benefits, users have various issues while running Python code. When programmers face issues, they often use Stack Overflow (SO) to get assistance for their problems. However, many Pythonrelated questions on SO are not responded to and remain unanswered. Thus, in this paper, we analyzed these unanswered questions to identify potential weaknesses of user and discussion characteristics. We applied a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative and qualitative analysis of user reputation, question types, and discussion topics. Our analysis shows that unanswered questions are mostly from low-reputation users (72.52%), followed by mid-reputation users (17.93%), and high-reputation users (9.5 5%). The distribution of the unanswered question types shows that low-reputation users ask more 'how' type of question (38.90%) followed by mid and high-reputation users. In contrast, the 'what' and 'why' questions are mostly posted by high-reputation users, followed by mid and low-reputation users. Our word-cloud analysis suggests a correlation between user reputation and the question topics. We acknowledge that there are limitations in our study, include potential misclassifications due to the time of posting and biases in manual labeling, which may affect the accuracy of our findings. This study provides insights into unanswered questions posted by the community, open up potential areas for future work such as improving support mechanisms and community engagement. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, the design of fixed-wing autonomous UAVs is aimed. The goal is to lock onto rival UAVs during the competition, avoid these locks with aggressive maneuvers, and perform the designated tasks autonomously. Autonomous Aircraft System;It consists of a ground control station, ground antenna, controller, and autonomously operating aircraft components. In the declaration, the system's performance features, mechanical and aerodynamic design, flight control systems and communication systems are detailed. In addition, the UAV's autonomous locking, image processing and task performance capabilities are presented, supported by tests and analysis. The final system architecture and performance analysis results show that the UAV meets the design requirements. © 2024 IEEE.

Depression has the potential to impact death rates, particularly when it comes to death by suicide. Inadequate diagnosis may result in a delay or unsuitable therapy, which can worsen symptoms of depression. Unaddressed or insufficiently addressed depression can result in deteriorating mental well-being, which includes a higher risk of experiencing suicidal ideation and engaging in self-destructive actions. Voice analysis can be employed to distinguish between individuals with depression and those without depression. However, the research that has been conducted on voice recognition to distinguish between depressed and non-depressed individuals keeps focusing on the use of a single dataset source as input for the classification model that is being developed. This work utilizes the Vision Transformer model and various pre-trained transformers, such as DeiT (Data-Efficient Image Transformer) and Swin Transformer, to detect depression based on voice. The objective was to create a more generic model not restricted to a specific language. Integrating Mel-spectrogram characteristics with a vision transformer-based model can enhance the efficacy of voice recognition models when dealing with multi-language data. Stress is a problem with various adverse effects, such as mental disorders and suicide. With these problems arising, a stress detection system is needed as an initial examination of the level of stress experienced. Generally, stress detection is done with a stress test at a hospital. However, medical examinations done in the hospital require high costs. Another alternative to examine stress levels is by using a biosignal electroencephalogram (EEG), which provides more objective and accurate results. In addition, there is a need to develop a portable device that can be used to detect stress. This study tries to detect stress levels using EEG Signals. The data used in this study is primary data that simulates several stress-level activities. In total, 55 subjects participated in this stress detection research. The received signal goes through preprocessing to clean it from noise and artifacts. The data will be extracted using Power Spectral Density (PSD) into power value for each signal frequency. The preprocessed input signals are then classified into indications of stress levels. This study uses Random Forest, SVM, and Decision Tree. The model is stored on a portable system with Raspberry Pi as the main component. EEG signals are taken using electrodes on Muse 2 and sent to the system. The classification model generates predicted stress levels and is displayed on a 16×2 LCD. SVM as the best model test result achieved a testing accuracy of 1, and an average computation time of 0.92. © 2024 IEEE.

This study addresses the challenge of selecting research topics for undergraduate students, focusing on computer science, by evaluating a recommendation model based on the k-Nearest Neighbor algorithm (kNN). The objective is to enhance the accuracy of research topic recommendations in the presence of imbalanced data. The methodology involves data cleaning, transformation, and correlation-based feature selection, with a particular focus on addressing missing values and optimizing the feature set. The Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique (SMOTE) is employed to balance the dataset. The model development includes a comprehensive analysis of various k values, leading to the identification of k=3 with Manhattan distance as the optimal configuration, achieving an accuracy of 82%. The experiment explores different training data proportions, revealing that a 90:10 ratio yields the highest accuracy. This study incorporates a Grid Search technique for hyperparameter tuning, highlighting the importance of selecting appropriate distance metrics and nearest neighbor values. The system implementation is presented with user and administrator interfaces. Findings indicate varying model performance across research categories, emphasizing the need for category-specific evaluation metrics. The study concludes with a discussion on the significance of the results, which contribute to the improvement of research topic recommendation systems for students through the integration of advanced machine learning techniques. © 2024 by the authors.

Airplanes are a social necessity for movement of humans,goods,and *** are generally safe modes of transportation;however,incidents and accidents occasionally *** prevent aviation accidents,it is necessary to develop a machine-learning model to detect and predict commercial flights using automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast *** study combined data-quality detection,anomaly detection,and abnormality-classification-model *** research methodology involved the following stages:problem statement,data selection and labeling,prediction-model development,deployment,and *** data labeling process was based on the rules framed by the international civil aviation organization for commercial,jet-engine flights and validated by expert commercial *** results showed that the best prediction model,the quadratic-discriminant-analysis,was 93%accurate,indicating a“good fit”.Moreover,the model’s area-under-the-curve results for abnormal and normal detection were 0.97 and 0.96,respectively,thus confirming its“good fit”.

The survival rate of lung cancer relies significantly on how far the disease has spread when it is detected, how it reacts to the treatment, the patient’s overall health, and other factors. Therefore, the earlier the lung cancer diagnosis, the higher the survival rate. For radiologists, recognizing malignant lung nodules from computed tomography (CT) scans is a challenging and time-consuming process. As a result, computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems have been suggested to alleviate these burdens. Deep-learning approaches have demonstrated remarkable results in recent years, surpassing traditional methods in different fields. Researchers are currently experimenting with several deep-learning strategies to increase the effectiveness of CAD systems in lung cancer detection with CT. This work proposes a deep-learning framework for detecting and diagnosing lung cancer. The proposed framework used recent deep-learning techniques in all its layers. The autoencoder technique structure is tuned and used in the preprocessing stage to denoise and reconstruct the medical lung cancer dataset. Besides, it depends on the transfer learning pre-trained models to make multi-classification among different lung cancer cases such as benign, adenocarcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. The proposed model provides high performance while recognizing and differentiating between two types of datasets, including biopsy and CT scans. The Cancer Imaging Archive and Kaggle datasets are utilized to train and test the proposed model. The empirical results show that the proposed framework performs well according to various performance metrics. According to accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC metrics, it achieves 99.60, 99.61, 99.62, 99.70, and 99.75%, respectively. Also, it depicts 0.0028, 0.0026, and 0.0507 in mean absolute error, mean squared error, and root mean square error metrics. The faculty of computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Filkom UB) is committed to providing quality services for the users especially internal and external stakeholders, one of which is through the HaloFilkom service. HaloFilkom services have limitations in terms of time. HaloFilkom services are not available 24 hours due to limited working hours. Questions asked by users are not answered directly. This weakness in the HaloFilkom system can be overcome by using a chatbot system. Chatbot is an interactive system that works with natural human language and can work 24 hours. Thus, the current study explores the basic chatbot model by classifying the Q&A in the closed domain knowledge. The dataset in this research is in the form of pairs of questions and answers regarding various topics at the Filkom UB. The knowledge is preprocessed using text preprocessing which includes case folding, tokenization, padding, and tensorization. One of the chatbot models is a generative model. Creating a generative chatbot model can be done using the Seq2Seq model mechanism which consists of an encoder and decoder. The model created consists of four different architectures, namely a model with an LSTM encoder without attention and with attention and a BiLSTM model encoder without attention and with attention. Hyperparameter tuning was conducted to obtain the best hyperparameter combination. The experiment results show the best hyperparameter combination obtained is hidden size 448, drop out rate 0.5, learning rate 0.001, batch size 64, and teacher force 0. The model with the best loss is obtained with a BiLSTM encoder architecture without an attention mechanism with a train loss of 0.120. The model with the highest BLEU Score was obtained by a model with a BiLSTM encoder architecture without an attention mechanism with a BLEU Score of 0.8587 on the training data.
