In this digital era, attracting new students from outside the region to enter a college or university is difficult. This problem can be solved with good marketing and information dissemination techniques. Information is a type of data that has been processed and organized so that it has relevant meaning for the recipient. Useful information can be used to help make decisions, gain new knowledge, or solve problems. One medium for providing information is by using videos that can be uploaded to YouTube for dissemination. However, problems arise when the information depends on the point of view of the video content creator, who may not provide enough information sought by users in their videos. Virtual reality (VR) technology can be pursued as one of the solutions to overcome the lack of detail and control in videos for users to get the expected information. One of the technologies in VR that allows people to explore a three-dimensional virtual world on a web platform is the 360° WebVR technology. Since users have full control over what can be seen using WebVR, it is expected that this technology can assist users in getting deeper and detailed information related to their needs. This study aims to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of using YouTube videos and WebVR in distributing information and delivering detailed information to users. The results show that WebVR technology has the potential to provide greater control over more detailed information to users who use it, in contrast to traditional two-dimensional video playback technology. © 2023 ACM.

Estimation of root-zone soil moisture (SM) is crucial for effective agricultural management and water resource planning. However, current methods for soil moisture estimation exhibit several limitations that hinder their practical application. This study introduces a novel nowcasting model, which integrates in-situ and remote sensing data through a Predictive Error Compensated wavelet Neural NETwork (PECNET), addressing the drawbacks of existing *** SM estimation techniques often suffer from limited accuracy, inadequate contextual information, and no real-time monitoring capabilities. Although remote sensing technologies offer promising advantages, such as wide spatial coverage and frequent data acquisition, they are not immune to limitations. Vegetation coverage and density present challenges in accurately estimating root-zone SM using remote sensing techniques. These factors can introduce uncertainties and errors in the estimation process, thereby impacting the reliability of the *** overcome these limitations and enhance the accuracy of root-zone SM estimation, this study proposes the integration of remote sensing data with in-situ measurements. Specifically, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) calculations from Landsat 7 and Landsat 8 satellites are fused with evapotranspiration and rainfall data obtained from agrometeorological stations. Function has been always an important driver in architectural design. It is the request to generate form directly from purpose and utility. In 1896, Louis Sullivan projected that 'form follows function' and that the beauty of a building derives directly from its function and not from references of the built heritage. The assumption was that beauty would naturally derive from design once functional requirements are met. Thus, fitness for purpose equals beauty. In 1908, Adolf Loos even went so far as to ask for the total abandonment of decoration. In 1947, Mies van der Rohe made his paradigm shift, function is the main language for design in Europe, creating a new built environment. However, with the advent of machine learning systems, and as seen in our deep learning approach, form indeed can literally follow function. In this paper, we presented a new design approach where we can interpret the unseen in visualizing the future. This can decompose the final design to its essentials to finally generate a conceptual new futuristic design. Using multiple types of tools, we showed how to merge art, sculpture and architecture in a principled manner to yield new compositions and how to generate interesting design variations thus reaching novel conceptual designs. Architecture is a complex spatial organization field, and one must consider it in its totality. There are not only functional considerations but also aesthetical and structural ones. Artificial intelligence is an exciting field of investigation that not only has the potential to fill the gap of computational resources for the conceptual design phases of architectural projects but also the capacity to address the wider needs of the profession for futuristic designs. It answers the ideas of the volume of space, and how space be visualized and built. Smartphones have grown popular in the current digital era among people. Map-based applications are one of many that are used daily by people to acquire information about specific locations. Google Maps and Waze are two popular examples of map-based applications for travel and navigation, as they provide detailed information while the user navigates from one point to another. One of the most commonly used algorithms in map-based applications is the Dijkstra algorithm. Although the Dijkstra algorithm can determine the shortest route between two points, there is an issue when the selected route involves a large number of data points that need to be processed. The more data points involved, the longer it takes to do a route calculation in the Dijkstra algorithm. This can lead to a degradation in system performance, especially on smartphones with limited resources. To address this issue, the Douglas-Peucker algorithm is proposed as a solution to reduce the number of points involved in the calculation using the line simplification technique. Line simplification means reducing unnecessary points that are considered unimportant. This study suggested that integrating the Douglas-Peucker line simplification technique before Dijkstra could improve the system performance more than the system without integrating line simplification in terms of reducing both memory usage and the time required to compute the solution. © 2023 ACM.

Purpose: The development of an automated premature ventricular contraction (PVC) detection system has significant implications for early intervention and treatment decisions. This study aims to develop a novel approach using various supervised machine learning (ML) methods for detecting PVCs in electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings. Methodology: To achieve this, we extracted ten distinct statistical and temporal features from 33 long-term ECG recordings from the benchmark MIT-BIH arrhythmia database (MIT-BIH-AD), capturing significant characteristics from the signals. We then investigated the effectiveness of traditional ML algorithms in identifying PVCs based on these features, namely support vector machine (SVM), decision tree (DT), naïve Bayes (NB), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and artificial neural network (ANN). Results: Among these classifiers, the SVM, KNN, ANN, and DT classifiers demonstrated exceptional discriminatory power and classification performance, yielding near-perfect area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC) values of 97.3%, 95.4%, 95%, and 94.1%, respectively. On the other hand, the SVM classifier emerged as the most accurate, achieving an overall accuracy of 97.39%, indicative of making correct predictions. Conclusion: These findings underscore the generalization of the proposed approach, especially since we worked on an extended dataset encompassing different types of heartbeats to discriminate PVCs from other heartbeat types, not only normal ones, and providing closer alignment with real-world scenarios. Subsequently, the robustness and accuracy of these models highlight their suitability for clinical applications and their potential for efficient implementation and deployment in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), as they demand minimal computational resources and time. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to The Brazilian Society of Biomedical engineering 2025.

Recently, there has been increasing interest in utilizing virtual reality (VR) technology in dental education and student training. VR based training can provide students with sufficient training and hands-on experience before entering the clinical setting, which in turn helps avoid risks ranging from small errors to severe consequences. However, previous research in this area is limited and none of the previous work proposed a complete, scalable framework for dental students' education and training. This paper proposes an improved virtual environment for dental training, through an adaptive learning approach, integrated with the VR environment, which is - to the best of our knowledge - the first framework proposed for this purpose. The framework consists of eight modules that aim to provide students with a holistic dental training experience, equipping them with the essential skills and confidence required for their future clinical practice. Furthermore, it aims to improve patient care and safety. In order to guarantee the effectiveness and usability of the proposed framework, a thorough evaluation will be conducted, encompassing both a system perspective, which involves assessing software metrics, as well as evaluating its usability. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we performed an analysis of the outage probability (Pout) at the output of the receiver with selection combination (SC) with L branches of the wireless communication system in the presence of Beaulieu-Xie (BX) fading and BX co-channel interference (CCI). The mathematical form of the function for Pout as a normalized signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) was derived, based on which a graph was drawn for different values of fading and CCI parameters. The second part of the paper considers applying machine learning approach relying on ChatGPT with aim to enable fading type recognition based on Pout measurements, which can be further used in order to perform Quality of Service (QoS) adaptation by tuning receiver's parameters. © 2023 IEEE.

Cause-effect graphs are a commonly used black-box testing method, and many different algorithms for converting system requirements to cause-effect graph specifications and deriving test case suites have been proposed. However, in order to test the efficiency of black-box testing algorithms on a variety of cause-effect graphs containing different numbers of nodes, logical relations and dependency constraints, a dataset containing a collection of cause-effect graph specifications created by authors of existing papers is necessary. This paper presents CEGSet, the first collection of existing cause-effect graph specifications. The dataset contains a total of 65 graphs collected from the available relevant literature. The specifications were created by using the ETF-RI-CEG graphical software tool and can be used by future authors of papers focusing on the cause-effect graphing technique. The collected graphs can be re-imported in the tool and used for the desired purposes. The collection also includes the specification of system requirements in the form of natural language from which the cause-effect graphs were derived where possible. This will encourage future work on automatizing the process of converting system requirements to cause-effect graph specifications. © 2023 IEEE.

Many different methods are used for generating blackbox test case suites. Test case minimization is used for reducing the feasible test case suite size in order to minimize the cost of testing while ensuring maximum fault detection. This paper presents an optimization of the existing test case minimization algorithm based on forward-propagation of the cause-effect graphing method. The algorithm performs test case prioritization based on test case strength, a newly introduced test case selection metric. The optimized version of the minimization algorithm was evaluated by using thirteen different examples from the available literature. In cases where the existing algorithm did not generate the minimum test case subsets, significant improvements of test effect coverage metric values were achieved. Test effect coverage metric values were not improved only in cases where maximum optimization was already achieved by using the existing algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.
