In the realm of low-level vision tasks,such as image deraining and dehazing,restoring images distorted by adverse weather conditions remains a significant *** emergence of abundant computational resources has driven the dominance of deep Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs),supplanting traditional methods reliant on prior ***,the evolution of CNN architectures has tended towards increasing complexity,utilizing intricate structures to enhance performance,often at the expense of computational *** response,we propose the Selective Kernel Dense Residual M-shaped Network(SKDRMNet),a flexible solution adept at balancing computational efficiency with network accuracy.A key innovation is the incorporation of an M-shaped hierarchical structure,derived from the U-Net framework as M-Network(M-Net),within which the Selective Kernel Dense Residual Module(SDRM)is introduced to reinforce multi-scale semantic feature *** methodology employs two sampling techniques-bilinear and pixel unshuffled and utilizes a multi-scale feature fusion approach to distil more robust spatial feature map *** the reconstruction phase,feature maps of varying resolutions are seamlessly integrated,and the extracted features are effectively merged using the Selective Kernel Fusion Module(SKFM).Empirical results demonstrate the comprehensive superiority of SKDRMNet across both synthetic and real rain and haze datasets.

We aim to effectively solve and improvise the Meta Meme Challenge for the binary classification of hateful memes detection on a multimodal dataset launched by Meta. This problem has its challenges in terms of individual modality processing and its impact on the final classification of hateful memes. We focus on feature-level fusion methodologies in proposing the solutions for hateful memes detection in comparison with the decision-level fusion as feature-level fusion generates richer features’ representation for further processing. Appropriate model selection in multimodal data processing plays an important role in the downstream tasks. Moreover, inherent negativity associated with the visual modality may not be detected completely through the visual processing models, necessitating the differently processed visual data through some other techniques. Specifically, we propose two feature-level fusion-based methodologies for the aforesaid classification problem, employing VisualBERT for the effective representation of textual and visual modality. Additionally, we employ image captioning generating the textual captions from the visual modality of the multimodal input which is further fused with the actual text associated with the input through the Tensor Fusion Networks. Our proposed model considerably outperforms the state of the arts on accuracy and AuROC performance metrics. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Machine Learning Based Diabetes Detection Model for False Negative Reduction

Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by the inability of the pancreas to produce enough insulin or the body’s inability to use insulin efficiently. This disease is becoming increasingly prevalent worldwide and can result in severe complications such as blindness, kidney failure, and stroke. Early detection of diabetes can potentially save millions of lives globally, making it a crucial focus of research. In this study, we propose a machine learning model to aid in predicting diabetes. The model comprises several machine learning methods: Linear Regression (LnR), Logistic Regression (LR), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), Naive Bayes (NB), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Decision Tree (DT). Prior to feeding the pre-processed data into the machine learning model for evaluation, we conducted several pre-processing steps, such as removing null values, standardizing data using normalization, and labeling data using the label encoding process. Imbalanced datasets can adversely affect the accuracy of machine learning algorithms, and we address this problem by balancing the datasets using the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) method. We assessed the model’s performance on two datasets and found that the random forest algorithm produced optimal results, with 97% accuracy on the diabetes dataset 2019 and 80% accuracy on the Pima Indian dataset. However, using a balanced dataset, we can significantly reduce the number of false-negative detections. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2023.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) significantly impacts a child's ability to navigate social interactions, regulate emotions, and develop adaptive skills crucial for daily functioning. While various interventions exist to address cognitive and academic skills, the development of soft skills such as communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and creativity remains an under explored area. This paper builds upon the foundational work of the Mind Champ platform, which originally targeted both learning and soft skills, by focusing exclusively on enhancing the soft skills development of autistic children. This enhanced version of the Mind Champ platform leverages advanced behavioral and emotional analysis techniques to offer a comprehensive technological solution. Through interactive activities centered on painting and music, the platform creates a structured, engaging, and supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of children with ASD. By prioritizing emotional engagement and creative expression, the platform empowers children to improve their social abilities, emotional regulation, and adaptability. The results from our continued research indicate that these technology-driven interventions contribute significantly to the holistic development of soft skills in autistic children, providing them with valuable tools to navigate social environments more effectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Generative Adversarial Networks for Motor Imagery Classification using Wavelet Packet Decomposition and Complex Morlet Transform

The area of brain-computer interface research is widely spreading as it has a diverse array of potential applications. Motor imagery classification is a boon to several people with motor impairment. Low accuracy and datasets with few trial recordings present challenges for this classification. This research offers a novel approach to these problems in electroencephalography signal classification for efficient control of neuroprosthetic devices. By using wavelet packet decomposition the proposed method divides the EEG signal into eight frequency bands. Each of these bands were then evaluated by a one-dimensional convolution neural network to find the most discriminative band. Only EEG signals filtered with these bands were used to generate time-frequency images called scalograms using complex Morlet transform. These scalograms were then classified using a two-dimensional convolution neural network optimized for spatial-temporal feature extraction and classification. To mitigate data scarcity, generative adversarial networks were used for effective data augmentation. Experimental evaluation on a benchmark dataset demonstrated substantial improvement: the two-dimensional convolution neural network achieved 93.63% accuracy, surpassing the 85% achieved by the one-dimensional convolution neural network baseline. Precision, recall, and F1-score metrics validated robust performance across motor imagery tasks. Comparative analysis with the latest methods underscored the proposed model’s superiority in accuracy and reliability. Using wavelet transformations, convolution neural network architectures, and generative adversarial network-driven data augmentation presented a promising framework for advancing brain-computer interface applications, particularly in enhancing neuroprosthetic device control. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

A manipulator control method based on deep deterministic policy gradient with parameter noise

Focusing on the motion control problem of two link manipulator, three deep reinforcement learning models named the deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG), asynchronous advantage actor-critic(A3C) and distributed proximal policy optimization (DPPO) are established for training according to the target setting, state variables and reward & punishment mechanism of the environment model. And then the motion control of two link manipulator is realized. After comparing and analyzing the three models, the traditional DDPG approach based on action noise converges faster and has a higher average reward compared to the other two algorithms. So, DDPG approach based on parameter noise is designed for further research to improve its applicability, so as to cut down the debugging time of the manipulator model and reach the goal smoothly. The experimental results indicate that the DDPG approach based on parameter noise can control the motion of two link manipulator effectively. The convergence speed of the control model is significantly promoted and the stability after convergence is improved. In comparison with the traditional control approach, the DDPG control approach based on parameter noise has higher efficiency and stronger applicability. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

We plan to develop a specialized training system to enhance the competitive skills of players in the first-person shooter game "Valorant", aiming to improve their abilities and tactical understanding within the game. We will adopt a multimodal image-text fusion technique to enhance the model’s learning of sample similarity. Specifically, we will use the cross-entropy function to maximize the diagonal values of the similarity matrix, thereby capturing the features of similar samples and reducing the similarity between dissimilar samples. Through this process, we ensure that the model can map the same entity across different modalities into similar embedding representations, while distinguishing unrelated samples. Our goal is to find a way of embedding representation during the learning process that enables the model to better understand and represent multimodal data. We will utilize the YOLOv7 model for object detection to identify destructible skills. Based on the results of object detection, we will generate relevant textual descriptions for each object. Sleep quality prediction in Internet of Things (IoT) involves leveraging a system of interrelated devices to gather as well as analyse related data. Smart devices like wearable devices or smart mattresses endlessly monitor many parameters such as body movement, heart rate, and environmental situations in bedroom. Real-time recommendations and feedback transported to consumers, allowing them to create informed lifestyle changes for superior sleep hygiene. As IoT ecosystem continues to develop, a combination of various data streams as well as classy analytics holds assurance for further refining sleep quality forecasts and improving overall well-being. The article designs a Bald Eagle Search Algorithm with Hierarchical Deep Learning for Internet of Things Assisted Sleep Quality Recognition (BESHDL-SQP) technique. The purpose of the BESHDL-SQP technique is to recognize and classify the quality of the sleep level in the IoT environment. In the presented BESHDL-SQP technique, the preliminary stage of data pre-processing using min–max normalization involved to normalize the input data. For predicting sleep quality, hierarchical long short-term memory (LSTM) technique exploited. Lastly, BES model utilized for optimal hyperparameter selection of LSTM method which helps in attaining enhanced results. To validate better performance of BESHDL-SQP technique, a huge range of simulation analysis is carried out.
