Few-shot named entity recognition (NER) aims at identifying named entities based on only few labeled instances. Current few-shot NER methods focus on leveraging existing datasets in the rich-resource domains which might fail in a training-from-scratch setting where no source-domain data is used. To tackle training-from-scratch setting, it is crucial to make full use of the annotation information (the boundaries and entity types). Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel multi-task (Seed, Expand and Entail) learning framework, SEE-Few, for Few-shot NER without using source domain data. The seeding and expanding modules are responsible for providing as accurate candidate spans as possible for the entailing module. The entailing module reformulates span classification as a textual entailment task, leveraging both the contextual clues and entity type information. All the three modules share the same text encoder and are jointly learned. Experimental results on four benchmark datasets under the training-from-scratch setting show that the proposed method outperformed state-of-the-art few-shot NER methods with a large margin. By generating massive gene transcriptome data and analyzing transcriptomic variations at the cell level, single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) technology has provided new way to explore cellular heterogeneity and functionality. Clustering scRNA-seq data could discover the hidden diversity and complexity of cell populations, which can aid to the identification of the disease mechanisms and biomarkers. In this paper, a novel method (DSINMF) is presented for single cell RNA sequencing data by using deep matrix factorization. Our proposed method comprises four steps: first, the feature selection is utilized to remove irrelevant features. Then, the dropout imputation is used to handle missing value problem. Further, the dimension reduction is employed to preserve data characteristics and reduce noise effects. Finally, the deep matrix factorization with bi-stochastic graph regularization is used to obtain cluster results from scRNA-seq data. We compare DSINMF with other state-of-the-art algorithms on nine datasets and the results show our method outperformances than other methods. IEEE

Table-based fact verification aims to verify whether a statement sentence is trusted or fake. Most existing methods rely on graph feature or data augmentation but fail to investigate evidence correlation between the statement and table effectively. In this paper, we propose a self-Labeled Keypoint Alignment model, named LKA, to explore the correlation between the two. Specifically, a dual-view alignment module based on the statement and table views is designed to discriminate the salient words through multiple interactions, where one regular and one adversarial alignment network cooperatively character the alignment discrepancy. Considering the interaction characteristic inherent in the alignment module, we introduce a novel mixture-of-experts block to elaborately integrate the interacted information for supporting the alignment and final classification. Furthermore, a contrastive learning loss is utilized to learn the precise representation of the structure-involved words, encouraging the words closer to words with the same table attribute and farther from the words with the unrelated attribute. Experimental results on three widely-studied datasets show that our model can outperform the state-of-the-art baselines and capture interpretable evidence words. © 2022 Proceedings - International Conference on Computational Linguistics, COLING. In the context of the full commercial use of 5G, high-speed rail passengers have higher and higher requirements for wireless network service quality. However, in the current high-speed rail 5G network streaming media transmission, due to the fast moving speed, the base station is frequently switched, and the user bandwidth does not match the streaming media bit rate, resulting in a poor user network experience and a poor streaming media experience. In view of the above problems, this paper focuses on the bandwidth prediction of network users in the high-speed rail environment, and proposes a bandwidth prediction algorithm High speed 5G Environment Bandwidth Predict(H5EBP) based on the hidden Markov model in different states of the high-speed rail. So as to improve the user's streaming media experience. After comparative evaluation with other existing bandwidth prediction algorithms, H5EBP can greatly improve the accuracy of bandwidth prediction, thereby improving the user's streaming media experience. © 2022 ACM.

Our paper introduces a novel video dataset specifically for Temporal Intention Localization (TIL), aimed at identifying hidden abnormal intention in densely populated and complex environments. Traditional Temporal Action Localization (TAL) frameworks, focusing on overt actions within constrained temporal intervals, often miss subtle pre-abnormal actions that unfold over extended periods. Our dataset comprises 228 videos with 5790 clips, each annotated to capture fine-grained actions within ambiguous temporal boundaries using the Joint-Linear-Assignment methodology. This approach enables detailed analysis of the evolution of abnormal intention over time. To detect subtle, hidden intention, we developed the Intention-Action Fusion module, an creative approach integrating dynamic feature fusion across 11 behavioral subcategories, significantly enhancing the model's ability to discern nuanced intention. This enhancement has led to performance improvements of up to 139% in specific scenarios, dramatically boosting the model's sensitivity and interpretability, crucial for advancing proactive surveillance systems. By pushing the boundaries of technology, our dataset and methodologies foster proactive surveillance systems capable of preemptively identifying potential threats from nuanced behavioral patterns, encouraging further exploration into the complexities of intention beyond observable actions. Pushing artificial intelligence(AI) from central cloud to network edge has reached board consensus in both industry and academia for materializing the vision of artificial intelligence of things(AIoT) in the sixth-generation(6G) era. This gives rise to an emerging research area known as edge intelligence, which concerns the distillation of human-like intelligence from the vast amount of data scattered at the wireless network edge. Typically, realizing edge intelligence corresponds to the processes of sensing, communication,and computation, which are coupled ingredients for data generation, exchanging, and processing, ***, conventional wireless networks design the three mentioned ingredients separately in a task-agnostic manner, which leads to difficulties in accommodating the stringent demands of ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, and high capacity in emerging AI applications like auto-driving and metaverse. This thus prompts a new design paradigm of seamlessly integrated sensing, communication, and computation(ISCC) in a taskoriented manner, which comprehensively accounts for the use of the data in downstream AI tasks. In view of its growing interest, this study provides a timely overview of ISCC for edge intelligence by introducing its basic concept, design challenges, and enabling techniques, surveying the state-of-the-art advancements, and shedding light on the road ahead.

As an essential function of encrypted Internet traffic analysis,encrypted traffic service classification can support both coarse-grained network service traffic management and security ***,the traditional plaintext-based Deep Packet Inspection(DPI)method cannot be applied to such a ***,machine learning-based existing methods encounter two problems during feature selection:complex feature overcost processing and Transport Layer Security(TLS)version *** this paper,we consider differences between encryption network protocol stacks and propose a composite deep learning-based method in multiprotocol environments using a sliding multiple Protocol Data Unit(multiPDU)length sequence as features by fully utilizing the Markov property in a multiPDU length sequence and maintaining suitability with a TLS-1.3 *** experiments show that both Length-Sensitive(LS)composite deep learning model using a capsule neural network and LS-long short time memory achieve satisfactory effectiveness in F1-score and *** to faster feature extraction,our method is suitable for actual network environments and superior to state-of-the-art methods.

As technology develops continuously, digital images are being applied more and more extensively in daily life. Digital images are mainly divided into two categories: one is the images obtained by photosensitive devices such as cameras, and the other is the images generated by software. Nevertheless, in low - light conditions, the images captured by traditional photosensitive devices typically suffer from issues like low luminance and subpar visual qualities. These problems pose significant challenges to subsequent image processing and practical applications. Thus, the technology of enhancing low - light images has emerged as a crucial research area for the purpose of elevating image quality. This paper puts forward a solution centered around the improved UNet network to address the issue of image enhancement in low - light settings. The UNet network effectively performs image enhancement through feature extraction, feature fusion, and restoration operations. However, the classical UNet can only process single - channel grayscale images, and the loss function it uses has relatively limited effects in low - light image processing. Therefore, this paper adjusts the number of channels of the UNet network so that it can process three - channel RGB images and improves the loss function. We compared the enhancement effects of L1 Loss, VGG Loss, and SmoothL1 Loss respectively, and carried out a quantitative analysis through evaluation metrics such as PSNR and SSIM. Ultimately, through the combination of the three loss functions and their weighted optimization, the enhancement effect of low - light images is notably enhanced. The innovation of this paper lies in expanding the structure of the UNet network to make it adaptable to three - channel image processing, and improving the quality of image enhancement by improving the loss function. A Low-Rank Matching Attention Based Cross-Modal Feature Fusion Method for Conversational Emotion Recognition

Conversational emotion recognition (CER) is an important research topic in human-computer interactions. Although recent advancements in transformer-based cross-modal fusion methods have shown promise in CER tasks, they tend to overlook the crucial intra-modal and inter-modal emotional interaction or suffer from high computational complexity. To address this, we introduce a novel and lightweight cross-modal feature fusion method called Low-Rank Matching Attention Method (LMAM). LMAM effectively captures contextual emotional semantic information in conversations while mitigating the quadratic complexity issue caused by the self-attention mechanism. Specifically, by setting a matching weight and calculating inter-modal features attention scores row by row, LMAM requires only one-third of the parameters of self-attention methods. We also employ the low-rank decomposition method on the weights to further reduce the number of parameters in LMAM. As a result, LMAM offers a lightweight model while avoiding overfitting problems caused by a large number of parameters. Moreover, LMAM is able to fully exploit the intra-modal emotional contextual information within each modality and integrates complementary emotional semantic information across modalities by computing and fusing similarities of intra-modal and inter-modal features simultaneously. Experimental results verify the superiority of LMAM compared with other popular cross-modal fusion methods on the premise of being more lightweight. Also, LMAM can be embedded into any existing state-of-the-art CER methods in a plug-and-play manner, and can be applied to other multi-modal recognition tasks, e.g., session recommendation and humour detection, demonstrating its remarkable generalization ability. © 2024 IEEE.

Sparse ridge regression problems play a significant role across various domains. To solve sparse ridge regression, [1] recently proposes an advanced algorithm, Scalable Optimal K-Sparse Ridge Regression (OKRidge), which is both faster and more accurate than existing approaches. However, the absence of theoretical analysis on the error of OKRidge impedes its large-scale applications. In this paper, we reframe the estimation error of OKRidge as a Primary Optimization (PO) problem and employ the Convex Gaussian min-max theorem (CGMT) to simplify the PO problem into an Auxiliary Optimization (AO) problem. Subsequently, we provide a theoretical error analysis for OKRidge based on the AO problem. This error analysis improves the theoretical reliability of OKRidge. We also conduct experiments to verify our theorems and the results are in excellent agreement with our theoretical findings. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation.
