To address the power system hardening problem, traditional approaches often adopt robust optimization (RO) that considers a fixed set of concerned contingencies, regardless of the fact that hardening some components actually renders relevant contingencies impractical. In this paper, we directly adopt a dynamic uncertainty set that explicitly incorporates the impact of hardening decisions on the worst-case contingencies, which leads to a decision-dependent uncertainty (DDU) set. Then, a DDU-based robust-stochastic optimization (DDU-RSO) model is proposed to support the hardening decisions on distribution lines and distributed generators (DGs). Also, the randomness of load variations and available storage levels is considered through stochastic programming (SP) in the innermost level problem. Various corrective measures (e.g., the joint scheduling of DGs and energy storage) are included, coupling with a finite support of stochastic scenarios, for resilience enhancement. To relieve the computation burden of this new hardening formulation, an enhanced customization of parametric column-and-constraint generation (P-C&CG) algorithm is developed. By leveraging the network structural information, the enhancement strategies based on resilience importance indices are designed to improve the convergence performance. Numerical results on 33-bus and 118-bus test distribution networks have demonstrated the effectiveness of DDU-RSO aided hardening scheme. Furthermore, in comparison to existing solution methods, the enhanced P-C&CG has achieved a superior performance by reducing the solution time by a few orders of magnitudes. To solve the multi-user semantic communication network capacity bottlenecks, this paper proposes a semantic feature domain multiple access (SFDMA) scheme. By extracting and encoding semantic features and jointly processing multi-user data, the scheme can realize the encoding and transmission of multi-user semantic information in the separated feature subspace. Based on this scheme, a semantic digital multiple access network model is proposed to perform multi-user inference tasks, and an efficient semantic encoding and decoding scheme is developed by using variational information bottleneck (VIB) theory to ensure both the orthogonality in the feature domain and the classification accuracy. Furthermore, a SFDMA model for image reconstruction is designed based on the Swin Transformer. The modified model also considers the reconstruction quality and orthogonality of semantic feature domain. In addition, we design an optimization target for multiple access to implement an adaptive power allocation method for multi-user semantic communications. Simulation results show that our proposed SFDMA scheme exhibits semantic feature domain orthogonality in different applications, and the adaptive power allocation method shows excellent performance in the classification task, and effectively guarantee the quality of service (QoS) of the semantic communications. © 2015 IEEE.

This paper studies the robust co-planning of proactive network hardening and mobile hydrogen energy resources (MHERs) scheduling, which is to enhance the resilience of power distribution network (PDN) against the disastrous events. A decision-dependent robust optimization model is formulated with min − max resilience constraint and discrete recourse structure, which helps achieve the load survivability target considering endogenous uncertainties. Different from the traditional model with a fixed uncertainty set, we adopt a dynamic representation that explicitly captures the endogenous uncertainties of network contingency as well as the available hydrogen storage levels of MHERs, which induces a decision-dependent uncertainty (DDU) set. Also, the multi-period adaptive routing and energy scheduling of MHERs are modeled as a mixed-integer recourse problem for further decreasing the resilience cost. Then, a nested parametric column-and-constraint generation (N-PC&CG) algorithm is customized and developed to solve this challenging formulation. By leveraging the structural property of the DDU set as well as the combination of discrete recourse decisions and the corresponding extreme points, we derive a strengthened solution scheme with nontrivial enhancement strategies to realize efficient and exact computation. Numerical results on 14-bus test system and 56-bus real-world distribution network demonstrate the resilience benefits and economical feasibility of the proposed method under different damage severity levels. Moreover, the enhanced NPC&CG shows a superior solution capability to support prompt decisions for resilient planning with DDU models. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A Blockchain-Enabled Secure and Decentralized ADS-B System for Intelligent Vehicles With Robust Authentication

As the next-generation air traffic surveillance technology, the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) system plays a critical role in broadcast communication for intelligent vehicles such as unmanned aerial vehiclesand aircraft. However, the unauthenticated channels expose the ADS-B system to a high risk of attacks. Besides, the centralization of intelligent vehicles management center is susceptible to single point failures and performance bottlenecks. In this paper, we propose a robust and distributed intelligent vehicles management architecture leveraging blockchain technology to resolve security and performance issues lying in the registration, update, and revocation of intelligent vehicles' identity public keys. Then, we leverage certificate-less short signature (CLSS) to achieve the dynamic identity verification of ADS-B system participants while ensuring message integrity, non-repudiation, and compatibility with low-data-bit message packets. Furthermore, to enhance intelligent vehicles transaction process efficiency within the proposed architecture, we develop an Verifiable Random Function-based Byzantine Fault Tolerance protocol (VRBFT) combining threshold signatures. Finally, through a comprehensive security analysis and feasibility assessment, the results indicate that authentication requires less than 30 ms, block generation occurs within 200 ms, and the system exhibits high throughput and low latency. These findings demonstrate that our solution significantly enhances the security of the ADS-B system and offers a practical and promising approach for real-time, large-scale intelligent vehicle management. © 2025 IEEE.

Floor plans can provide valuable prior information that helps enhance the accuracy of indoor positioning systems. However, existing research typically faces challenges in efficiently leveraging floor plan information and applying it to complex indoor layouts. To fully exploit information from floor plans for positioning, we propose a floor plan-assisted fusion positioning algorithm (FP-BP) using Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR). In the considered system, a user holding a smartphone walks through a positioning area with BLE beacons installed on the ceiling, and can locate himself in real time. In particular, FP-BP consists of two phases. In the offline phase, FP-BP programmatically extracts map features from a stylized floor plan based on their binary masks, and constructs a mapping function to identify the corresponding map feature of any given position on the map. In the online phase, FP-BP continuously computes BLE positions and PDR results from BLE signals and smartphone sensors, where a novel grid-based maximum likelihood estimation (GML) algorithm is introduced to enhance BLE positioning. Then, a particle filter is used to fuse them and obtain an initial estimate. Finally, FP-BP performs post-position correction to obtain the final position based on its specific map feature. Experimental results show that FP-BP can achieve a real-time mean positioning accuracy of 1.19 m, representing an improvement of over 28% compared to existing floor plan-fused baseline algorithms. Tailoring the emission spectra of active ions has received significant attention from researchers in the last few decades due to its applicability in narrow-line width and low-threshold lasers as well as in broadband photonic devices. One- to three-dimensional photonic crystals, photonic crystal microcavities, metamaterials, and plasmonic materials have been used to manipulate the emission spectra of optically active materials. In this paper, one-dimensional microcavities are used to provide a dielectric environment for the manipulation of emission spectra of luminescent ions, and finite-difference time-domain -based simulations are carried out to observe the behavior of luminescent ions placed in one-dimensional microcavities. The numerical results show that the emission spectrum of the active material can be tailored as a broader emission spectrum, a narrower emission spectrum, and a spectrum with multiple peaks, depending on the local density of states of the microcavity. © 2025 IOP Publishing Ltd. Currently, in consumer electronics industry, quite a number of E-healthcare products highly depend on consumers' facial biometrics for both disease diagnosis and identity authen-tication. In light of this, various facial privacy-preserving approa-ches oriented towards the internet of medical things have been proposed, including visual cryptography and desensitization tech-nique. Nevertheless, few attentions have been paid to investigating their countermeasure, i.e., facial privacy analysis, owning to significant distribution discrepancy between the original and anony-mized facial images. To this end, a general Denoising Diffusion Cryptanalytic Model (DDCM) is proposed in this paper to recon-struct the original facial images in a coarse-to-fine manner from their encrypted ones with diverse anonymous approaches. Spec-ifically, to accurately reconstruct the original facial image without any prior knowledge, a customized initial prediction module with an encoder-decoder structure is introduced by taking advantage of its leaked visual cues to generate the coarse face. Furthermore, the residual map between the original and coarse facial images is explicitly modeled with the output of the customized prediction module as a conditional prior, thereby obtaining a refined facial image. Finally, extensive experiments demonstrate that the propo-sed DDCM could not only effectively crack multiple handcrafted facial anonymization approaches, such as blurring, pixelation and thumbnail-preserving encryption, but also outperform the prev-ious works (e.g., Pix2Pix) in terms of image fidelity and attack success rate. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

We investigate a joint data compression and task scheduling problem for Low Earth Orbit Satellite networks (LEOSNs), to maximize the sum weights of tasks while simultaneously minimizing the total data loss. First, we propose a novel Multi-Resource Conflict Graph (MRCG) model to characterize the intertwined communication and computation allocation conflicts inherent in typical data offloading processes of LEOSNs. Leveraging the proposed MRCG model, we then formulate the studied problem for LEOSNs as a linear integer program, to maximize the normalized weighted sum of both the sum task weight and the total data loss. We further explore the intrinsic structure of the linear integer program to propose an efficient solution using the Semi-Definite Relaxation (SDR) technique. Finally, the simulation results underscore that the synergistic optimization of data compression and task scheduling significantly facilitates the data offloading efficiency of LEOSNs, and the performances surpass existing benchmarks across a broad range of system parameters. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Holographic multiple-input and multiple-output (HMIMO) is a promising technology with the potential to achieve high energy and spectral efficiencies, enhance system capacity and diversity, etc. In this work, we address the challenge of HMIMO near field (NF) channel estimation, which is complicated by the intricate model introduced by the dyadic Green's function. Despite its complexity, the channel model is governed by a limited set of parameters. This makes parametric channel estimation highly attractive, offering substantial performance enhancements and enabling the extraction of valuable sensing parameters, such as user locations, which are particularly beneficial in mobile networks. However, the relationship between these parameters and channel gains is nonlinear and compounded by integration, making the estimation a formidable task. To tackle this problem, we propose a novel neural network (NN) assisted hybrid method. With the assistance of NNs, we first develop a novel hybrid channel model with a significantly simplified expression compared to the original one, thereby enabling parametric channel estimation. Using the readily available training data derived from the original channel model, the NNs in the hybrid channel model can be effectively trained offline. Then, building upon this hybrid channel model, we formulate the parametric channel estimation problem with a probabilistic framework and design a factor graph representation for Bayesian estimation. Leveraging the factor graph representation and unitary approximate message passing (UAMP), we develop an effective message passing-based Bayesian channel estimation algorithm. Extensive simulations demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method. © 2025 IEEE.
