It is expected that the concept of Internet of everything will be realized in 2020 because of the coming of the 5G wireless communication technology. Internet of Things (IoT) services in various fields require different types of network service features, such as mobility, security, bandwidth, latency, reliability and control strategies. In order to solve the complex requirements and provide customized services, a new network architecture is needed. To change the traditional control mode used in the traditional network architecture, the Software Defined Network (SDN) is proposed. First, SDN divides the network into the Control Plane and Data Plane and then delegates the network management authority to the controller of the control layer. This allows centralized control of connections of a large number of devices. Second, SDN can help realizing the network slicing in the aspect of network layer. With the network slicing technology proposed by 5G, it can cut the 5G network out of multiple virtual networks and each virtual network is to support the needs of diverse users. In this work, we design and develop a network slicing framework. The contributions of this article are two folds. First, through SDN technology, we develop to provide the corresponding end-to-end (E2E) network slicing for IoT applications with different requirements. Second, we develop a dynamic network slice resource scheduling and management method based on SDN to meet the services' requirements with time-varying characteristics. This is usually observed in streaming and services with bursty traffic. A prototyping system is completed. The effectiveness of the system is demonstrated by using an electronic fence application as a use case.

Millimeter-Wave (mmWave) communication in ultra-dense networks (UDNs) has been considered as a promising technology for future wireless communication systems. Exploiting the benefits of mmWave and UDNs, we introduce a new approach for jointly optimizing small-cell base station (SBS)-user (UE) association and power allocation to maximize the system energy efficiency (EE) while guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS) constraints for each UE. The SBS-UE association problem poses a new challenge since it reflects as a complex mixed-integer non-convex problem. On the other hand, the power allocation problem is in non-convexity structure, which is impossible to handle with the association problem concurrently. An alternating descent method is thus introduced to divide the primal optimization problem into two sub-problems and handle one-by-one at each iteration, where the SBS-UE association problem is reformulated using the penalty approach. Then, path-following algorithms are developed to convert non-convex problem into the simple convex quadratic functions at each iteration. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the convergence and low-complexity of our proposed schemes. © ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2019.

Seeder mechanical vibration control difficult. Aiming at the problem that the precision control of the seeder is not high, the position control system of the stepper motor with Fuzzy controller as the controller is designed. This system uses SCI serial port to communicate with the host computer, through the photoelectric encoder to measure the mechanical walking position and feedback to the Fuzzy controller, the controller according to the feedback results in real time to adjust the PWM signal frequency control motor speed. © 2018 IEEE.

In the vegetable greenhouse control technology transformation, intelligent control will become the key technology of it. CO2 is one of the main sources of photosynthesis of crops. Due to the closure of the greenhouse, CO2 concentrations indoor will be much lower than outdoor without new CO2 injection, which is not conducive to crop growth. A neural network control algorithm based on structure and parameters of improved genetic algorithm training is proposed in this paper. It adopts a parallel fuzzy inference network, which has the characteristics of adaptive self-learning, and the controller obtained from the algorithm is used to control the input of CO2 in the greenhouse. This method overcomes the shortcomings of the need for large amounts of data transmission and accurate mathematical models of existing control methods and uses Matlab to simulate. The simulation results show that the method is effective. © 2018 IEEE.

In this paper, we study the fine-grained categorization problem under the few-shot setting, i.e., each fine-grained class only contains a few labeled examples, termed Fine-Grained Few-Shot classification (FGFS). The core predicament in FGFS is the high intra-class variance yet low inter-class fluctuations in the dataset. In traditional fine-grained classification, the high intra-class variance can be somewhat relieved by conducting the supervised training on the abundant labeled samples. However, with few labeled examples, it is hard for the FGFS model to learn a robust class representation with the significantly higher intra-class variance. Moreover, the inter- and intra-class variance are closely related. The significant intra-class variance in FGFS often aggravates the low inter-class variance issue. To address the above challenges, we propose a Target-Oriented Alignment Network (TOAN) to tackle the FGFS problem from both intra- and inter-class perspective. To reduce the intra-class variance, we propose a target-oriented matching mechanism to reformulate the spatial features of each support image to match the query ones in the embedding space. To enhance the inter-class discrimination, we devise discriminative fine-grained features by integrating local compositional concept representations with the global second-order pooling. We conducted extensive experiments on four public datasets for fine-grained categorization, and the results show the proposed TOAN obtains the state-of-the-art. © 2020, CC BY-NC-SA.

System outage performance for three-step two-way energy harvesting DF relaying

—Wireless energy harvesting (WEH) has been recognized as a promising technique to prolong the lifetime of energy constrained relay nodes in wireless sensor networks. Its application and related performance study in three-step two-way decode- and-forward (DF) relay networks are of high interest but still lack sufficient study. In this paper we propose a dynamic power-splitting (PS) scheme to minimize the system outage probability in a three-step two-way energy harvesting DF relay network and derive an analytical expression for the system outage probability with respect to the optimal dynamic PS ratios. In order to further improve the system outage performance, we propose an improved dynamic scheme where both the PS ratios and the power allocation ratio at the relay are dynamically adjusted according to instantaneous channel gains. The corresponding system performance with the improved dynamic scheme is also investigated. Simulation results show that our proposed schemes outperform the existing scheme in terms of the system outage performance and the improved dynamic scheme is superior to the dynamic PS scheme. With the rapid development of information technology and the continuous evolution of personalized ser- vices, huge amounts of data are accumulated by large internet companies in the process of serving users. Moreover, dynamic data interactions increase the intentional/unintentional persistence of private infor- mation in different information systems. However, problems such as the cask principle of preserving pri- vate information among different information systems and the dif culty of tracing the source of privacy violations are becoming increasingly serious. Therefore, existing privacy-preserving schemes cannot pro- vide systematic privacy preservation. In this paper, we examine the links of the information life-cycle, such as information collection, storage, processing, distribution, and destruction. We then propose a the- ory of privacy computing and a key technology system that includes a privacy computing framework, a formal de nition of privacy computing, four principles that should be followed in privacy computing, ffect algorithm design criteria, evaluation of the privacy-preserving effect, and a privacy computing language. Finally, we employ four application scenarios to describe the universal application of privacy computing, and discuss the prospect of future research trends. This work is expected to guide theoretical research on user privacy preservation within open environments.

Community detection is a fundamental step in social network analysis. In this study, we focus on the hybrid identification of overlapping communities with network topology (e.g., user interaction) and edge-induced content (e.g., user messages). Conventional hybrid methods tend to combine topology and node-induced content to explore disjoint communities, but fail to integrate edge-induced content and to derive overlapping communities. Moreover, although several semantic community detection approaches have been developed, which can generate the semantic description for each community besides the partition result, they can only incorporate the word-level content to derived coarse-grained descriptions. We propose a novel Semantic Link Community Detection (SLCD) model based on non-negative matrix factorization (NMF). It adopts the perspective of link communities to integrate topology and edge-induced content, where the partitioned link communities can be further transformed into an overlapping node-induced membership. Moreover, SLCD incorporates both the word-level and sentence-level content while considering the diversity of user messages. Hence, it can also derive strongly interpretable and multi-view community descriptions simultaneously when community partition is finished. SLCD's superior performance and powerful application ability over other state-of-the-art competitors are further demonstrated in our experiments on a series of real social networks.

To improve data speed and reliability, hybrid wireless networks combine two different Radio Access Technologies (RATs), such as Visible Light Communications (VLC), millimetre wave (mmWave), Wireless Fidelity (WiFi), 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE), etc. The Internet of Radio Light (IoRL) is a cutting-edge system paradigm to combine three RATs for taking advantage the vast VLC and mmWave spectrum with the ubiquitous coverage of WiFi. In this respect, this work introduces a new convex optimisation-based solution method to optimise the three-dimensional (3D) Access Point Assignment (APA) problem of the IoRL system under individual user positioning, priority and minimum Quality-of-Service (QoS) constraints. We use both the IoRL real-world testbed and large-scale Maltab simulations to evaluate that our solution converges in linear time, and attains higher throughput-vs-fairness trade-off than existing efforts.

Hierarchical soft slicing to meet multi-dimensional QoS demand in cache-enabled vehicular networks

Vehicular networks are expected to support diverse content applications with multi-dimensional quality of service (QoS) requirements, which cannot be realized by the conventional one-fit-all network management method. In this paper, a service-oriented hierarchical soft slicing framework is proposed for the cache-enabled vehicular networks, where each slice supports one service and the resources are logically isolated but opportunistically reused to exploit the multiplexing gain. The performance of the proposed framework is studied in an analytical way considering two typical on-road content services, i.e., the time-critical driving related context information service (CIS) and the bandwidth-consuming infotainment service (IS). Two network slices are constructed to support the CIS and IS, respectively, where the resource is opportunistic reused at both intra- and inter-slice levels. Specifically, the throughput of the IS slice, the content freshness (i.e., age of information) and delay performances of the CIS slice are analyzed theoretically, whereby the multiplexing gain of soft slicing is obtained. Extensive simulations are conducted on the OMNeT++ and MATLAB platforms to validate the analytical results. Numerical results show that the proposed soft slicing method can enhance the IS throughput by 30% while guaranteeing the same level of CIS content freshness and service delay.
