Weather phenomenon recognition plays an important role in the field of ***,weather radars and weathers sensor have been widely used for weather ***,given the high cost in deploying and maintaining the devices,it is difficult to apply them to intensive weather phenomenon ***,advanced machine learning models such as Convolutional Neural networks(CNNs)have shown a lot of promise in meteorology,but these models also require intensive computation and large memory,which make it difficult to use them in *** practice,lightweight models are often used to solve such ***,lightweight models often result in significant performance *** this end,after taking a deep dive into a large number of lightweight models and summarizing their shortcomings,we propose a novel lightweight CNNs model which is constructed based on new building *** experimental results show that the model proposed in this paper has comparable performance with the mainstream non-lightweight model while also saving 25 times of memory *** memory reduction is even better than that of existing lightweight models.

Sentiment analysis is a branch of natural language processing that analyzes textual data and provides insights into users’ opinions. In the context of smart cities, sentiment analysis seeks to seamlessly integrate technological innovations into people’s daily lives, fostering sustainability and enhancing overall quality of life while monitoring citizen satisfaction levels. This approach allows for more precise analysis and facilitates the implementation of strategies geared towards improving services and the general quality of life. The aim of this paper is to propose an approach for managing healthcare crises in smart cities. The proposal relies on a hybrid approach that combines LSTM for tweet classification with EHO for optimizing classification parameters. Experimental results have demonstrated the effectiveness of this proposed technique.

Hierarchical Alignment-enhanced Adaptive Grounding Network for Generalized Referring Expression Comprehension

In this work, we address the challenging task of Generalized Referring Expression Comprehension (GREC). Compared to the classic Referring Expression Comprehension (REC) that focuses on single-target expressions, GREC extends the scope to a more practical setting by further encompassing notarget and multi-target expressions. Existing REC methods face challenges in handling the complex cases encountered in GREC, primarily due to their fixed output and limitations in multi-modal representations. To address these issues, we propose a Hierarchical Alignment-enhanced Adaptive Grounding Network (HieA2G) for GREC, which can flexibly deal with various types of referring expressions. First, a Hierarchical Multi-modal Semantic Alignment (HMSA) module is proposed to incorporate three levels of alignments, including word-object, phrase-object, and text-image alignment. It enables hierarchical cross-modal interactions across multiple levels to achieve comprehensive and robust multi-modal understanding, greatly enhancing grounding ability for complex cases. Then, to address the varying number of target objects in GREC, we introduce an Adaptive Grounding Counter (AGC) to dynamically determine the number of output targets. Additionally, an auxiliary contrastive loss is employed in AGC to enhance object-counting ability by pulling in multi-modal features with the same counting and pushing away those with different counting. Extensive experimental results show that HieA2G achieves new state-of-the-art performance on the challenging GREC task and also the other 4 tasks, including REC, Phrase Grounding, Referring Expression Segmentation (RES), and Generalized Referring Expression Segmentation (GRES), demonstrating the remarkable superiority and generalizability of the proposed HieA2G. An Efficient Searchable Encryption Framework with Weighted Keywords for the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)

With the increasing popularity of smart terminals, the Internet of Things (IoT) vastly expands the influence of information technology and creates great values to our society. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a typical application of the IoT specifically for medical and healthcare related purposes. In IoMT, personal health records (PHRs) generated by intelligent equipment are usually stored in a cloud sever managed by a semi-trusted cloud provider. However, there is still a possibility of the exposure of private information to unauthorized parties. In order to protect a patient’s private information, and ensure that doctors can search a patient’s PHRs without decrypting all ciphertexts, an efficient searchable encryption framework with weighted keywords is proposed in this paper. In this framework, we implement a weighted keyword model to raise the accuracy of search results, and reduce the computational and storage overhead. Besides, compared with the existing schemes, the framework is supportable of multi-search mechanism, which is adaptable to more application scenarios. Finally, the efficiency and security of this framework is proved through security and performance analysis in this paper. © 2022, CC BY.

Age-of-Information Dependent Random Access for Periodic Updating

This paper considers an uplink Internet of Things system with synchronous periodic traffic, where multiple devices generate their status updates at the beginning of each global frame and attempt to send them to a common access point. To achieve a low network-wide age of information (AoI) in an easily implementable manner, we require each device to adopt an age-dependent random access protocol, i.e., to transmit with a certain probability only when its corresponding AoI reaches a certain threshold. We analyze the time-average expected AoI by a multilayer Markov model where an external infinite-horizon Markov chain manages the jumps between the beginnings of frames, while two internal finite-horizon Markov chains manage the evolution during an arbitrary frame for different cases. Simulation results verify the accuracy of the modeling and the AoI advantage over age-independent schemes. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Lighter model and faster inference are the focus of current single image super-resolution (SISR) research. However, existing methods are still hard to be applied in real-world applications due to the heavy computation requirement. Model quantization is an effective way to significantly reduce model size and computation time. In this work, we investigate the binary neural network-based SISR problem and propose a novel model binarization method. Specially, we design a bit-accumulation mechanism (BAM) to approximate the full-precision convolution with a value accumulation scheme, which can gradually refine the precision of quantization along the direction of model inference. In addition, we further construct an efficient model structure based on the BAM for lower computational complexity and parameters. Extensive experiments show the proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art binarization methods by large margins on 4 benchmark datasets, specially by average more than 0.7 dB in terms of Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio on Set5 dataset. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Non-standard Golay Complementary Sequence Pair over QAM

We generalize the three-stage process for constructing and enumerating Golay array and sequence pairs given in 2008 by Frank Fiedler et al. [A multi-dimensional approach to the construction and enumeration of Golay complementary sequences, Journal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A 115 (2008) 753776] to 4q-QAM constellation based on para-unitary matrix method, which partly solves their open questions. Our work not only includes the main part of known results of Golay complementary sequences over 4q-QAM based on Boolean functions and standard Golay sequence pairs over QPSK, but also generates new Golay complementary arrays (sequences) over 4q-QAM based on non-standard Golay array pairs over QPSK.
