This paper describes the development of an auto-active verification technique in the Frama-C framework. We outline the lemma functions method and present the corresponding ACSL extension, its implementation in Frama-C, and evaluation on a set of string-manipulating functions from the Linux kernel. We illustrate the benefits our approach can bring concerning the effort required to prove lemmas, compared to the approach based on interactive provers such as Coq. Data poisoning attacks, where adversaries manipulate training data to degrade model performance, are an emerging threat as machine learning becomes widely deployed in sensitive applications. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of data poisoning including attack techniques, adversary incentives, impacts on security and reliability, detection methods, defenses, and key research gaps. We examine label flipping, instance injection, backdoors, and other attack categories that enable malicious outcomes ranging from IP theft to accidents in autonomous systems. Promising detection approaches include statistical tests, robust learning, and forensics. However, significant challenges remain in translating academic defenses like adversarial training and sanitization into practical tools ready for operational use. With safety and trustworthiness at stake, more research on benchmarking evaluations, adaptive attacks, fundamental tradeoffs, and real-world deployment of defenses is urgently needed. Understanding vulnerabilities and developing resilient machine learning pipelines will only grow in importance as data integrity is fundamental to developing safe artificial intelligence.

With the increasing number of IoT devices, there is a growing need for bandwidth to support their communication. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of available bandwidth due to preallocated bands for various services. To address this issue, Cognitive Internet of Things (CR-IoT) enables devices to optimize their efficiency and enhance their communication capabilities by intelligently accessing available bandwidth. This is achieved through the use of soft sensing metrics, where devices continuously monitor the RF environment and transmit data opportunistically in overlay mode if a free channel is detected, or in underlay mode if not. In this paper, a soft sensing metric based hybrid transmission framework is proposed for CR-IoT devices to meet the data rate requirement for the smart city applications. The efficacy of this approach is demonstrated through simulation results.

The overwhelming acceptance of social media creates opportunities to learn about facts and events that are echoed in posts, tweets and messages uploaded by users. Analysis of these data can lead to interesting observations and conclusions. Of special importance are aspects related to temporal and dynamic nature of these findings. This paper presents a simple fuzzy-based approach of pre-processing and analyzing Twitter hashtags. The obtained fuzzy clusters are further examined in order to gain insight related to temporal trends and patterns of hashtags' popularity.

DC traction motors are widely used in all branches of urban economy. They began to be used in industry about a hundred years ago with the advent of the first calculation methods. When designing a DC motor, it is important to consider it comprehensively, together with the electric drive system. The article discusses the application of a more correct approach to modeling a series-excited DC motor using the ANSYS software package, in particular, the ANSYS RMxprt / Maxwell/ Simplorer bundle. The main stages of initial data input are considered and the main calculation results are shown. Using ANSYS Maxwell allows you to quickly and automatically build a typical machine geometry using RMxprt. When solving non-standard structures, it is possible to use 3D design with step-by-step elements. The analysis of the obtained graphic dependences of electric power parameters makes it possible to judge the efficiency of the electric motor and its operational properties in idling and under load. The simulation results show excellent agreement with the data obtained experimentally.

Recently, in Mathematical and Computational Applications Journal Chiu et al. [1] and Chen and Chiu [2] propose an inventory model based on EPQ with rework to determine the replenishment lot size and the number of shipments for a vendor-buyer integrated production-inventory system. They solve the inventory problem by considering both variables as continuous. However, the number of shipments must be considered as discrete variable. In this direction, this paper revisits and solves the inventory problem of [1-2] considering the decision variables according to their nature. Two easy and improved algorithms are proposed which simplify and complement the research works of [1-2].

This paper presents a study on a class of algorithms based on Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) for multiple diffractions. S-UTD-CH model can be used for fast and more accurate field prediction for multiple diffractions in transition zone. An extensive simulation results for comparison of UTD based algorithms with respect to the computation time and accuracy was provided.

In this study, we present an improved approach to optimizing the parameters of sensor sensing elements using quartz resonators with an interelectrode gap. We combine graphical and analytical methods to solve the multi-criteria optimization problem. The work focuses on the modes of operation of a quartz resonator equipped with an interelectrode gap in sensors with a frequency output, determining a set of optimal parameters and representing them as surfaces in a particular optimization parameter space. The presented results reveal specific areas on the surface of the objective function where optimization of design and technological parameters is possible, taking into account technological influences and features of the sensor design, including the initial value of the interelectrode gap. By using an improved mathematical model for the oscillations of a quartz resonator with an electrode gap, this study achieves results with an accuracy of ($8 . . .11$)% higher than previous studies, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving the design and functionality of piezoelectric sensors for advanced applications.

Algorithm visualizations graphically illustrate how algorithms work. In prior ethnographic studies of a computer science course in which students were required to construct and present their own algorithm visualizations, we observed that visualizations based on storylines tended to stimulate increased audience interest and involvement. This observation, coupled with the empirical research that substantiates the value of stories as mnemonic devices, raises an interesting research question: Do visualizations with storylines actually help students remember the procedural behavior of an algorithm better than visualizations that do not involve storylines? To investigate this question, we conducted an experimental study that compared the memorability of algorithm descriptions involving differing degrees of spatial and verbal embellishment. The study failed to detect significant differences. We reflect on our lack of significant results, and suggest two alternative paths for future research into the value of story-based algorithm visualization

A Comprehensive Review on Cybersecurity Issues and Their Mitigation Measures in FinTech

The fourth industrial revolution has seen the evolution and wide adoption of game-changing and disruptive innovation "financial technologies (FinTech)" around the globe. However, the security of FinTech systems and networks remains critical. This paper comprehensively reviews the evolving landscape of cybersecurity issues within the FinTech sector and explores effective mitigation measures. Four independent researchers reviewed relevant literature from IEEE Xplore Digital Library, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, Emerald Insight, Springer, SAGE, Wiley Online Library, Hindawi, MDPI, ACM Digital Library, IGI Global, and Google Scholar. The research paper begins by examining the history and evolution of FinTech, drivers for the growth of FinTech, segments of the FinTech industry, FinTech ecosystem, FinTech business model, and FinTech application. Subsequently, it then delves into an analysis of the most pressing cybersecurity issues confronting FinTech firms, such as privacy concerns, data breaches, malware attacks, hacking, insider threats, identity theft, social engineering attacks, distributed denial-of-service attacks, and others. In response to these cybersecurity issues, the paper evaluates various mitigation strategies and best practices adopted by FinTech firms and regulatory bodies globally. These measures include technological solutions such as authentication and access control mechanisms, cryptography, big data analytics, intrusion detection/prevention systems, regular data backup, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing technologies, blockchain technologies, and fraud detection and prevention systems. The paper also emphasizes the importance of FinTech regulatory sandboxes, regulatory compliance, basic security training, continuous monitoring of threats, zero-trust policy, robust cybersecurity culture, regular testing, and stringent security policies to strengthen the FinTech ecosystem's cyber resilience.
