Optimistic versioning is a key component in supporting collaborative workflows. Text-based versioning has been widely adopted for versioning code, but in model-driven engineering, dealing with visual concrete syntaxes, new methods are required. In the case of blended modeling, a mixture of both textual and visual syntaxes, concurrently editable and synchronizable, introduces additional challenges. We propose a type of operation-based versioning to record not only user edits, but also bi-directional change propagations between concrete and abstract syntax. This way we can support blended modeling with layout continuity, and flexible handling of missing information (e. g., layout information) when rendering changes from abstract to concrete syntax. In addition, the proposed versioning approach enables collaborative conflict resolution by allowing partial conflict resolution, thus deferring a final resolution. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors. Road accidents have been known to be one of the leading death causes around the world for a long time. Thus, cars and all kinds of road vehicles form a huge source of danger, and they relate to multiple high risks. There are many factors that can contribute to road traffic accidents such as the health condition of the driver if a medical emergency event happened while driving, drowsiness, or mind-wandering. The proposed system can monitor the behavior of the driver while driving as well as his/her health status. Moreover, it analyzes the monitored data, alerts the driver in a timely manner, and assists him/her in adjusting the driving behavior. Different dangerous and risky situations which can be faced during driving can be captured and avoided by using such a system which leads at the end to increase road traffic safety and reduce vehicle collisions. Notifications are developed in cases of drowsiness, loss of focus, or other concerns that may emerge while driving. However, when the driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely is hampered by a health concern, the implemented system is only able at this stage to alarm the driver itself and the surrounding cars as a first level of alarms. © 2023 IEEE.

Selecting the most relevant subset of features from a dataset is a vital step in data mining and machine *** feature in a dataset has 2n possible subsets,making it challenging to select the optimum collection of features using typical *** a result,a new metaheuristicsbased feature selection method based on the dipper-throated and grey-wolf optimization(DTO-GW)algorithms has been developed in this *** can result when the selection of features is subject to metaheuristics,which can lead to a wide range of ***,we adopted hybrid optimization in our method of optimizing,which allowed us to better balance exploration and harvesting chores more *** propose utilizing the binary DTO-GW search approach we previously devised for selecting the optimal subset of *** the proposed method,the number of features selected is minimized,while classification accuracy is *** test the proposed method’s performance against eleven other state-of-theart approaches,eight datasets from the UCI repository were used,such as binary grey wolf search(bGWO),binary hybrid grey wolf,and particle swarm optimization(bGWO-PSO),bPSO,binary stochastic fractal search(bSFS),binary whale optimization algorithm(bWOA),binary modified grey wolf optimization(bMGWO),binary multiverse optimization(bMVO),binary bowerbird optimization(bSBO),binary hysteresis optimization(bHy),and binary hysteresis optimization(bHWO).The suggested method is superior 4532 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 and successful in handling the problem of feature selection,according to the results of the experiments.

computer science and engineering communities have been exploring a variety of activities and techniques to attract and retain more students, especially women and minorities, to computer science and computer engineering degree programs1. This paper briefly describes the efforts and results of a plan for actively recruiting young women into undergraduate computer engineering and computer science programs hosted by the University of North Texas (UNT). It also describes a series of activities aimed at improving the retention rate of students already in our programs, particularly during the freshman year. Such recruitment and retention efforts are critical to the country's efforts to increase the number of engineering professionals, and are a priority for the computer Science and engineering (CSE) department at UNT. We initially designed a three-part plan to achieve our recruitment and retention goals: Sponsorship of portable and mobile summer computer engineering robotics camps for middle and high-school women students, coordinating with the regional Girl Scouts councils and other organizations to help with the recruitment;Creation of an Ambassador program using young women currently enrolled in the upper division of current computer science and computer engineering programs as a form of outreach to area high schools and junior colleges;and Expansion of our successful undergraduate mentoring program by using the Ambassador cohort mentioned above as mentors for incoming freshman and first-year transfer women entering our programs. This paper will focus primarily on the summer camp program and present an analysis of the results we have seen to date after 2 years of camp activities. Results from student surveys and parent surveys will be presented. The paper concludes with recommended changes and improvements in the program, as well as a discussion of adaptations that would create programs suitable for implementation at other institutions as well as programs aimed at a dif

In this paper, 2-steps software using image processing and enhancement technologies is developed to obtain a scoliosis patient's spine pattern from 2D coronal X-Ray images without manual land marking. Then, a Rule-based Fuzzy classifier is implemented on those images to classify the spine patterns using the King-Moe classification approach. © 2014 - IOS Press and the authors.

A new involutory 4×4 MDS matrix for the AES-like block ciphers

Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) codes are used as diffusion layers in the design of the well known block ciphers like the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Khazad. The reason for the use of MDS codes in the design of block ciphers is that they provide optimal diffusion effect to meet security of a round function of a block cipher. On the other hand, the constructions of these diffusion layers are various. For example, while the AES use a 4×4 MDS matrix over GF(28), Khazad use an 8×8 involutory MDS matrix over GF(28). In this study, a new involutory 4×4 MDS matrix for the AES-like block ciphers is proposed and an efficient software implementation of this matrix is given. The new involutory matrix replaces Mix Columns operation used in the AES cipher in order to provide equally good performance for both encryption and decryption operations. In the design of our involutory MDS matrix, we use Hadamard matrix construction instead of circulant matrices such as in the AES. © 2011 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l.

With this work, a research contribution in the field of reliability theory has been made, with which a realistic prognosis of reliability parameters of technical systems can be carried out. The motivation to deal with this topic resulted from the realization that the prognosis quality of established prognosis models must be optimized. An early and realistic prognosis of reliability parameters contributes to the success of a concern, mainly through the early implementation of quality measures. The work focuses on the development of a new multivariate prognosis model, which uses multivariate stress parameters as reference variables. Its application enables the prediction of reliability parameters for electronic control units. The predicted reliability parameters can be specified as stress-dependent (bivariate/multivariate) or time-dependent variables. While univariate reference quantities usually use the time dwell time of a technical system, the prognosis model newly presented here can process multivariate reference quantities. During the time in the field, technical systems are not only exposed to different usage behavior, but also to other stresses and influences that make a not inconsiderable contribution to failure. The use of time in the field as a univariate reference variable does not allow for this differentiated consideration and does not take into account relevant information in the reliability analysis. All existing prediction models have in common that only univariate reference parameters can be processed. For a fully comprehensive reliability analysis, all stress variables that lead to a failure must be considered. This is not sufficiently possible with a simple univariate approach. With the new approaches, it is now possible for the first time to consider different stress variables, their changes and their effects on the technical system under investigation in a field data analysis. This paper investigates the performance trade-offs between accuracy and inference time in real-time object detection models, particularly for detecting landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). Using subsets from the COCO validation dataset, the models' performance is evaluated across various input resolutions. Object detection has seen substantial advancements over the past few decades, propelled by deep learning and enhanced computational resources. However, the balance between accuracy and inference time differs among models and configurations, requiring detailed evaluation to identify the optimal solution for specific applications like landmine and UXO detection. This balance is critical for autonomous robotic systems, where swift and accurate decision-making is imperative. ©2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we present some generalisations of previous multicollision finding methods and apply these against a new type of tree-based hash functions. We also show that the very general class of hash functions first presented by Nandi and Stinson can be understood as graph-based hash functions and a graph theoretical approach can be utilised in studying their properties. Previously, an efficient multicollision attack has been found against the basic iterated hash function construction. This method has been applied to the generalised iterated hash functions and binary tree-based hash functions. We show that similar methods can be utilised also against t-ary tree-based hash functions, simplify some definitions and conjecture a similar result for multicollisions against graph-based hash functions. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

There are many research papers devoted to the state identification problem of finite state machines (FSMs) which are widely used for analysis of discrete event systems. A deterministic complete reduced FSM always has a homing sequence (HS) but a number of non-deterministic FSMs not necessarily have a preset HS;nevertheless, those FSMs can still have an adaptive HS. Moreover, adaptive HS can be shorter than the preset. If each state can be an initial state of a complete FSM, i.e., an FSM is non-initialized, then a shortest adaptive HS (if it exists) has polynomial length in the number of FSM states. We show that it is not the case for weakly-initialized FSMs: such FSMs can have a shortest adaptive HS of exponential length in the number of FSM states/transitions. However, the experimental evaluation shows that the non-polynomial upper bound for a shortest adaptive HS was never reached for randomly generated weakly-initialized two-input FSMs. © 2020 IEEE.
