Random sample partition (RSP) is a newly developed data management and processing model for Big Data processing and analysis. To apply the RSP model for Big Data computation tasks, it is very important to measure the distribution consistency of different datasets. Existing measurement methods for continuous-attribute and discrete-attribute datasets cannot directly deal with mixed-attribute datasets. In this article, we design a hybrid method to measure the distribution consistency among different mixed-attribute datasets by using a multilayer extreme learning machine (MLELM) and the generalized maximum mean discrepancy (GMMD) criterion, abbreviated as MLELM-GMMD. MLELM is first used to transform original mixed-attribute datasets into corresponding deep encoding datasets. Then, the GMMD criterion is applied to check the distribution consistency of the deep encoding datasets. Four experiments have been done to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of MLELM-GMMD, i.e., the impact of MLELM on the amount of information during mixed-attribute data transformation, the impact of MLELM on distributions of mixed-attribute data, the distribution consistencies of RSP and non-RSP data blocks, and the comparison with other measurement methods. Experimental results show that the proposed MLELM-GMMD method can measure the distribution consistency of mixed-attribute datasets more accurately than one-hot encoding-based methods. © 2022 IEEE.

This research responds to the complex challenges of mass customization and multi-objective parameter optimization. Leveraging the Call-Auction Matching proposed by Cadmus Yuan, Zhe-Luen Tsui, and Ywh-Leh Chou[1], we improved a Production Date Prediction Call-Auction Matching (PDP-CAM) scheduling algorithm. Our numerical analysis validated the ability of algorithm to implement a partial rescheduling mechanism and generate scheduling results in the face of mass customization scenarios. Importantly, the effectiveness of the PDP-CAM scheduling algorithm in minimizing instance rescheduling was demonstrated, thereby enhancing the computational efficiency of the algorithm. © 2024 SPIE.

Accelerating the economic advantages of ICT is one of the finest methods for any nation to boost its economy. Due to the unique topography, governing laws, and cultural traditions of each nation, these colossal challenges must be confronted in each country. This comparative analysis aims to examine these aspects in further detail. To achieve the objectives of this study, research was conducted by collecting and analysing data from publicly accessible sources. This research compares Pakistan and other Asian countries' cybersecurity legislation, regulations, CERTs (national computer emergency response teams), CIIPs (computer intrusion prevention programs), and cyber security training and awareness. Among forty-eight Asian countries, the study focus on comparative analysis of major neighboring (developed or developing) countries of Pakistan such as Japan, China, Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Nepal, Iran, Malaysia, Jordan, India, and Bangladesh. Cyber security has not been a major concern in Pakistan for a very long time, perhaps due to the way the government operates and how slowly it adapts to new technology. Many Asian countries have only ever released one version of their national cyber security plan, whilst Pakistan has never released anything;some other Asian countries are also added in this group. © 2024 IEEE.

Code obfuscation is used to reduce legibility of the code, and protect the critical code information from being stolen by reverse engineering. For the characteristic that obfuscation can be used for assembly and source code, the main method and principle of obfuscation including identifier obfuscation, control obfuscation and data obfuscation are expounded from the aspects of assembly and source level. Measuring the effectiveness of obfuscation is urgently needed. Existing evaluation methods are mostly based on software complexity measurement, and this leads to a single dimension. The VirusTotal, a website that integrates antivirus software is used to evaluate the killing rates of detecting malicious code in which different obfuscating methods are used. The killing rates are inversely proportional to the code obfuscating effects. Through the comparative experiment, the effects obfuscating factors including encoding times, encoding multiplicities, file formats, obfuscating levels, and obfuscating methods have on killing rates are compared and analyzed, and the ability of different code obfuscating technologies for assembly and source code are measured. The results show that the code obfuscating technologies whose characteristic codes are new and that can change program logic have good effects, which helps developers to use code obfuscating technologies effectively to prevent man-at-the-end attack. © 2023 ACM.

Depression has the potential to impact death rates, particularly when it comes to death by suicide. Inadequate diagnosis may result in a delay or unsuitable therapy, which can worsen symptoms of depression. Unaddressed or insufficiently addressed depression can result in deteriorating mental well-being, which includes a higher risk of experiencing suicidal ideation and engaging in self-destructive actions. Voice analysis can be employed to distinguish between individuals with depression and those without depression. However, the research that has been conducted on voice recognition to distinguish between depressed and non-depressed individuals keeps focusing on the use of a single dataset source as input for the classification model that is being developed. This work utilizes the Vision Transformer model and various pre-trained transformers, such as DeiT (Data-Efficient Image Transformer) and Swin Transformer, to detect depression based on voice. The objective was to create a more generic model not restricted to a specific language. Integrating Mel-spectrogram characteristics with a vision transformer-based model can enhance the efficacy of voice recognition models when dealing with multi-language data. In the field of computer holography, generating three-dimensional (3D) computer-generated hologram (CGH) in real-time speed has been a significant challenge due to the huge amount of data in 3D object wave. Deep learning has been proposed to compute CGH very fast using convolutional neural network (CNN). However, the input of the such CNN still depends on the acquisition of 3D information like RGB-D image. Here we present novel deep learning based computer holography technique which can rapidly generate CGH using CNN directly from stereo/single images rather than from RGB-D data. The method can simplify the CGH generation by using images as input, therefore avoiding the cumbersome 3D depth measuring process. © 2024 The Author(s)

Cricket is the game that binds Bangladeshis to-gether. The datasets were split into different parts based on the time of the cricket matches to experiment with the results. We have used Random Forest Regression and Linear Regression to experiment with the results. We have worked on different sets of independent variables while working with different datasets but runs and wickets were constant features. The linear Regression technique gave 0.58 of r-squared metric and its MAE: 32.857046003557706, MSE: 1793.4360657965133, RMSE: 42.34897951304746 values indicate that the regression model is making predictions that are reasonably close to the actual ob-served values. However, there is still some room for improvement. The r-squared metric of 0.787 was derived from a relatively brief dataset, MAE: 20.48880467759807, MSE: 690.1167559064677, RMSE: 26.270073389818837 metrics indicate that the regression model is making predictions that are very close to the actual observed values. Random Forest Regression's r-squared metric resulted in 0.807 but the learning curve pointed out an overfit model. Thus, linear regression contained the best result. We have applied the regularisation technique to achieve a better result. The dataset was collected from Github and Kaggle, sizes are (350899, 15) and (4037, 9) respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

The increasing frequency of natural disasters has led to situations where small towns and critical infrastructure, become isolated from the main utility grid. The microgrids' ability to work autonomously from the utility grid presents a viable solution to this problem. Microgrid resiliency is the characteristic related to the capacity of a microgrid to minimize the impact of disruptive events and ensure that the power supply is maintained under a variety of adverse conditions. This is specially important for critical infrastructures such as hospitals, communications and military bases. The objective of this paper is to simulate strategies and propose an algorithm for the design and management of electric microgrids with a focus on resiliency towards critical and disaster situations. The proposed solutions will be simulated, using a building microgrid implemented in the University of Coimbra as a pilot. As a result of the work, the study presents an algorithm that efficiently manages loads of a microgrid in order to increase its resilience when the microgrid is isolated from the utility grid. © 2023 IEEE.

Recommendation systems today present a technology designed to make things easier for consumers. They can be used to suggest ideas, solutions, products, and even people in various fields, including medicine, education, tourism, e-commerce and industry. The most present study we identified is in the e-commerce industry, supporting people in finding what they desire. A recommender system can, however, present consumers with helpful information on topics that may be important to them. The user may become dissatisfied receiving suggestions that are identical to their preferences, resulting in the problem of over-specialization. Limited content data leads to over-specialization since content-based techniques promote products closely connected to the client profile instead of novelties. In this research, we are concerned explicitly with suggesting novel, unpredictable, and startling objects that may be loved by consumers and may help make up for the lack of content. Genetic algorithms may be used to incorporate innovations and a sense of unpredictability, which we need to accomplish in order to propose both unfamiliar and unforeseen products alongside more familiar ones.
