There have been researches revealing obvious associations between facial phenotypes and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which enables effective health assessment with the integration of model-based learning methods. However, the paucity and poor quality of available datasets hinder the development of potent algorithms to detect NCDs. To meet this challenge, we propose a method called Exemplar Diffusion Model (EDM), the objective of proposed EDM is to generate facial images that illustrate simulated non-communicable diseases, utilizing a normal facial image as input. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed EDM method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of Frechet Inception Distance (FID) and Quality Score (QS), with improvements of 0.11 and 0.74, respectively. Furthermore, comprehensive ablation studies and comparative experiments prove the value of proposed EDM method in large-scale facial image dataset generation and non-communicable disease detection.

The Markov chain based model by Bianchi for IEEE802.11 distributed controlled access is a highly accurate analytical tool for estimating the system throughput when a single Basic Service Set (BSS) network operates in isolation. However, with the increase of wireless LAN access points being deployed on the same area, an environment with multiple BSS interfering with each other has become the default network scenario. The purpose of this work is to extend the single BSS Markov chain model into a multi-BSS model by incorporating the influence of STAs' interference range and carrier sense range to their own transmission and collision probabilities. We verify the proposed multi-BSS analytical model using the latest version of the ns-3 simulator which has recently supported accurate PHY abstractions for multi-BSS simulation. We show that the proposed model has a high accuracy (within 1%) independent of the multi-BSS network topology.

IP geolocation is a crucial technology in the study of many fields, such as network measurement, fraud detection, and location-based advertising, etc. For over a decade, numerous researches and applications in this area have gained significant advances. In recent years, since more and more physical devices are connected to cyberspace, evaluating the accuracy of IP geolocation has gained much more attentions. In this paper, we first illustrate the concept and applications of the IP geolocation. Then, we design and propose an evaluation method on IP geolocation accuracy based on crowdsourcing. We evaluate the accuracy of a popular high-precision IP geolocation system and find out it reaches 98.88% correct on citylevel geolocation, and the median error distance of street-level geolocation is 0.13 km. Finally, the future development direction of IP geolocation accuracy evaluation is discussed.

We propose an evolutionary algorithm inspired by evolution of birdsong grammars. The proposed algorithm is designed to quickly obtain practical solutions to large-scaled problems. The main mechanism for obtaining practical solutions quickly is to represent solution candidates in a compact way using grammars, that is to say, to make the search space smaller than the original one using grammars. Also, we apply the algorithm to a large-scaled OneMax problem and its variants. The simulation results show that the algorithm tends to quickly produce solution candidates with simple bit patterns and with not so bad fitness values for large-scaled problems as a bit pattern of the global optimum becomes more random. That can be considered as that practical solutions to large-scaled problems are obtained quickly. It is also shown that when the problem size is smaller, the algorithm tends to produce a precise bit pattern of the global optimum.
