The development of multi-agent technology for assessing the availability of information at the software development initial stages is an actual task, the solution of which is the purpose of this study. The paper presents the structure and functioning of multi-agent technology for assessing the availability of information at the software development initial stages, which is suitable for working with requirements specifications in modern conditions, when software requirements often change, - due to the speed and ease of specifications' analysis. Both the developer and the customer can always check the availability of information in the updated requirements specification, without spending a lot of time and effort. © 2021 IEEE.

Effective and efficient cyber incident handling is crucial for maintaining the security of information systems and organizational data. This research aims to develop a priority-based cyber incident handling method by adopting the NIST 2.0 framework and utilizing machine learning classification algorithms. This method enables organizations to quickly and accurately identify and respond to incidents based on threat levels and impact, focusing resources on the most critical incidents. The research employs the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification algorithm to determine incident priorities. The study is still developing for handling cyber incidents, followed by testing and evaluating the system prototype within organizations. Initial results indicate that the priority-based approach using the SVM classification algorithm achieves a True Positive (TP) Rate of 0.999 and a False Positive (FP) Rate of 0.008, with a correlation of 98.88%, resulting in excellent performance in identifying positive cases and a low error rate. © 2024 IEEE.

Video matting aims at accurately separating foreground from videos. Recent video matting researches pursue to eliminate auxiliary inputs. However, due to the limited ability of extracting global correlation features, these methods suffer from performance degradation when dealing with complex scenes or natural background videos. To address this challenge, we propose a video matting method called Video Matting Based on Local-Global Features Fusion (VMBLGFF) which can extract both comprehensive global correlation features and local subtle features. VMBLGFF contains two closely connected networks: a transformer network that utilizes window and global attention mechanisms to obtain global correlation features within and cross windows, and a fusion network that integrates local subtle features into the global correlation features to supplement the local detail information which may be overlooked by the attention mechanisms. VMBLGFF alleviates the issue of limiting global correlation features and has been benchmarked on both synthetic and real datasets, and the results demonstrate that VMBLGFF improves the quality of video matting and exhibits good generalization performance. © 2024 SPIE.

Image matting is a widely-used image processing technique that aims at accurately separating foreground from an image. However, this is a challenging and ill-posed problem that demands additional input, such as trimaps and background images, for providing prior knowledge. However, the manual annotation of trimaps require lots of labor, limiting the application of trimap-based methods. Some trimap-free methods explore alternatives with low labor requirements by utilizing captured background images, including background-based methods. However, the quality of alpha mattes predicted by trimap-free methods still fall short of trimap-based methods. To reduce the performance gap between background-based and trimap-based methodes, we present Trimap Generation from Background Image (TG-BG) method which can generate trimaps from the input image and a captured background image. It provides an economical solution to facilitate the application of trimap-based methods, allowing for low-cost and high-quality alpha matte predictions. TP-BG leverages a ViT backbone for feature extraction and employs the Image and Background Detail Fusion Stream (IBDFS) to capture multi-scale detail information. The introduction of foreground impact loss encourages the network to pay more attention to the foreground in the image. We validate the trimap prediction performance of TP-BG by comparing the alpha matte quality obtained by background-based methods and that obtained by trimap-based methods integrated with TP-BG. The experimental results demonstrate that TP-BG can generate high-quality trimap from a background image, and trimap-based methods integrated with TP-BG outperform the state-of-the-art background-based methods in terms of four alpha matte quality metrics. © 2024 SPIE.

Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines have emerged as highly effective strategies in the prophylaxis and treatment of diseases. mRNA design, a key to the success of mRNA vaccines, in-volves finding optimal codons and increasing secondary structure stability to lengthen mRNA half-life, ultimately enhancing protein expression. Despite receiving widespread attention, most methods primarily rely on manual design, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. While optimization approaches can alleviate this issue, existing methods still exhibit critical limitations caused by conflicts between codon usage and mRNA structural stability, compounded by the vast design space of mRNA resulting from the presence of synonymous codons. In this paper, a novel multi-objective evolutionary optimization-based mRNA design method is proposed. We first formulate the mRNA design problem as a multi-objective optimization problem and then develop an Elite Archive-Assisted Multi-Objective Evolutionary algorithm for mRNA Design, namely EAA-MOED, by incorporating a novel elite archive-assisted method into a weighted optimization framework to improve search efficiency. Experimental studies, involving two state-of-the-art mRNA design methods and five well-known MOEAs, show the competitiveness of the proposed EAA-MOED in mRNA design. © 2024 IEEE.

Adaptive and augmented active anomaly detection on dynamic network traffic streams

Active anomaly detection queries labels of sampled instances and uses them to incrementally update the detection model,and has been widely adopted in detecting network ***,existing methods cannot achieve desirable performance on dynamic network traffic streams because(1)their query strategies cannot sample informative instances to make the detection model adapt to the evolving stream and(2)their model updating relies on limited query instances only and fails to leverage the enormous unlabeled instances on *** address these issues,we propose an active tree based model,adaptive and augmented active prior-knowledge forest(A3PF),for anomaly detection on network trafic streams.A prior-knowledge forest is constructed using prior knowledge of network attacks to find feature subspaces that better distinguish network anomalies from normal *** one hand,to make the model adapt to the evolving stream,a novel adaptive query strategy is designed to sample informative instances from two aspects:the changes in dynamic data distribution and the uncertainty of *** the other hand,based on the similarity of instances in the neighborhood,we devise an augmented update method to generate pseudo labels for the unlabeled neighbors of query instances,which enables usage of the enormous unlabeled instances during model *** experiments on two benchmarks,CIC-IDS2017 and UNSW-NB15,demonstrate that A3PF achieves significant improvements over previous active methods in terms of the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC-ROC)(20.9%and 21.5%)and the area under the precision-recall curve(AUC-PR)(44.6%and 64.1%).

Recently,computer aided diagnosis(CAD)model becomes an effective tool for decision making in healthcare *** advances in computer vision and artificial intelligence(AI)techniques have resulted in the effective design of CAD models,which enables to detection of the existence of diseases using various imaging *** cancer(OC)has commonly occurred in head and neck *** identification of OC enables to improve survival rate and reduce mortality ***,the design of CAD model for OC detection and classification becomes ***,this study introduces a novel computer Aided Diagnosis for OC using Sailfish Optimization with Fusion based Classification(CADOC-SFOFC)*** proposed CADOC-SFOFC model determines the existence of OC on the medical *** accomplish this,a fusion based feature extraction process is carried out by the use of VGGNet-16 and Residual Network(ResNet)***,feature vectors are fused and passed into the extreme learning machine(ELM)model for classification ***,SFO algorithm is utilized for effective parameter selection of the ELM model,consequently resulting in enhanced *** experimental analysis of the CADOC-SFOFC model was tested on Kaggle dataset and the results reported the betterment of the CADOC-SFOFC model over the compared methods with maximum accuracy of 98.11%.Therefore,the CADOC-SFOFC model has maximum potential as an inexpensive and non-invasive tool which supports screening process and enhances the detection efficiency.

Quantum–classical co-simulation for smart grids: a proof-of-concept study on feasibility and obstacles

With the rising complexity of our electricity infrastructure, smart grid simulations increasingly rely on co-simulation, which involves jointly executing independent subsystem simulations. However, in large-scale simulation scenarios, such as those involving costly power-flow analysis, co-simulation may experience computational-performance issues. Quantum computing offers a potential solution through quantum–classical co-simulation, in which one or more simulators of an otherwise classical co-simulation are executed on quantum hardware. However, there is no practical realization of this concept that establishes its feasibility. To address this gap, we integrate a quantum power flow simulator with a smart grid co-simulation and conduct an exploratory simulation study using a fictitious case-study scenario. The experiments demonstrate the feasibility of quantum–classical co-simulation;at the same time, they highlight four obstacles to the concept’s realization in practice: (1) To use quantum computing for co-simulation, session-based scheduling is required. (2) Distributed simulation limits possible applications and requires proximity of computing resources. (3) For the efficient extraction of classical information from the quantum states, we need carefully designed operators. (4) Current hardware limitations—such as noise susceptibility and the lack of quantum random access memory—limit practical near-term uses of quantum power flow;therefore, attention should be turned to alternative applications that are more promising in the near term. These findings pave the way for future research on quantum–classical co-simulation and its potential applications in smart grids. © 2023, The Author(s).

Peer-to-Peer(P2P)electricity trading is a significant research area that offers maximum fulfilment for both prosumer and *** also decreases the quantity of line loss incurred in Smart Grid(SG).But,uncertainities in demand and supply of the electricity might lead to instability in P2P market for both prosumer and *** recent times,numerous Machine Learning(ML)-enabled load predictive techniques have been developed,while most of the existing studies did not consider its implicit features,optimal parameter selection,and prediction *** order to overcome fulfill this research gap,the current research paper presents a new Multi-Objective Grasshopper Optimisation Algorithm(MOGOA)with Deep Extreme Learning Machine(DELM)-based short-term load predictive technique i.e.,MOGOA-DELM model for P2P Energy Trading(ET)in *** proposed MOGOA-DELM model involves four distinct stages of operations namely,data cleaning,Feature Selection(FS),prediction,and parameter *** addition,MOGOA-based FS technique is utilized in the selection of optimum subset of ***,DELM-based predictive model is also applied in forecasting the load *** proposed MOGOA model is also applied in FS and the selection of optimalDELM parameters to improve the predictive *** inspect the effectual outcome of the proposed MOGOA-DELM model,a series of simulations was performed using UK Smart Meter *** the experimentation procedure,the proposed model achieved the highest accuracy of 85.80%and the results established the superiority of the proposed model in predicting the testing data.
