We propose a 3D object retrieval system which uses parametric templates as prior knowledge for the retrieval. A parametric template represents an object-domain and a semantic concept like 'chair' or 'plane...

Scene graph is a infrastructure of the virtual reality system to organize the virtual scene with abstraction, it can provide facility for the rendering engine and should be integrated effectively on demand into a real-time system, where a large quantities of scene objects and resources can be manipulated and managed with high flexibility and reliability. We present a new scheme of multiple scene graphs to accommodate the features of rendering engine and distributed systems. Based upon that, some other functions, e.g. block query, interactive editing, permission management, instance response, "redo" and "undo", are implemented to satisfy various requirements. At the same time, our design has compatibility to popular C/S architecture with good concurrent performance. Above all, it is convenient to be used for further development. The results of experiments including responding time demonstrate its good performance.

In this paper we present a novel method to evaluate guidance systems and navigation solutions for public infrastructures based on an immersive virtual environment in combination with a mobile eye tracking system. It opens new opportunities for wayfinding studies in public infrastructures already during the planning phase. Our approach embeds an interface for natural locomotion in the virtual environment offering significant advantages related to the user's spatial perception as well as physical and cognitive demands. Accurate measurements of position, locomotion and gaze within the virtual environment enable a great simplification for the analysis of eye tracking data. We conducted a study with participants that included virtual and real world scenarios within a train station. First results exhibit similar behaviour of participants in the real and virtual environment, confirming the comparability and applicability of our method.

We present a novel set of techniques for visualization of very large data sets encoding flight information obtained from Air Traffic Control. The aims of our visualization are to provide a smooth way to explore the available information and find outlier spatio-temporal patterns by navigating between fine-scale, detail, views on the data and coarse overviews of large areas and long time periods. To achieve this, we extend and adapt several image-based visualization techniques, including animation, density maps, and bundled graphs. In contrast to previous methods, we are able to visualize significantly more information on a single screen, with limited clutter, and also create real-time animations of the data. For computational scalability, we implement our method using GPU-accelerated techniques. We demonstrate our results on several real-world data sets ranging from hours over a country to one month over the entire world.
