Drug-target interaction (DTI) prediction has an important role in drug discovery, significantly expediting the drug design and development process. This paper proposes a new model, ERW-BiAN, that seamlessly integrates graph embedding representations with deep learning network. Specifically, we utilize an improved graph embedding model, ERW, to generate comprehensive feature vectors for each node within the knowledge graph. Subsequently, these feature vectors are fed into the BiAN model, which leverages an attention mechanism to assign precise weights to sequences. Experimental results demonstrate the superior accuracy and predictive prowess of ERW-BiAN in DTI prediction tasks. Furthermore, the case about COVID-19 shows that ERW-BiAN has the better application potential for predicting drug-target interactions. © 2024 IEEE.

In this study, we proposed a resource allocation approach that aims at fulfilling two main objectives. First, it equilibrates between the different cloud infrastructure particularities including load balancing, so it enhances the performance of infrastructure. Second, our approach provides a solution for the customer needs through shortening the execution time and reducing payments of the requested resources that have a dynamic nature. This paper suggests a new hybrid resources allocation approach based on three methods: multiagent system (MAS), distributed constraints satisfaction problems (DCSP), and the fuzzy logic (FL). The MAS represents the physical infrastructure. It provides an efficient management of the resources in the distribution and the heterogeneity of this infrastructure. DCSP, on the other hand, works side by side with MAS to maintain resources allocation policies in datacenters, while the FL is used to facilitate the representation of the dynamic resource values into linguistic terms (low, medium, high …) and helps the system to determine the best solution according to the criteria of customer requests. The experimental results show the efficiency of our approach in terms of load balancing, energy consumption cost, execution time, and the rate payment gain of customers. © 2019 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Shield tunnel lining is prone to water leakage,which may further bring about corrosion and structural damage to the walls,potentially leading to dangerous *** avoid tedious and inefficient manual inspection,many projects use artificial intelligence(Al)to detect cracks and water leakage.A novel method for water leakage inspection in shield tunnel lining that utilizes deep learning is introduced in this *** proposal includes a ConvNeXt-S backbone,deconvolutional-feature pyramid network(D-FPN),spatial attention module(SPAM).and a detection *** can extract representative features of leaking areas to aid inspection *** further improve the model's robustness,we innovatively use an inversed low-light enhancement method to convert normally illuminated images to low light ones and introduce them into the training *** experiments are performed,achieving the average precision(AP)score of 56.8%,which outperforms previous work by a margin of 5.7%.Visualization illustrations also support our method's practical effectiveness.

An improved particle swarm optimization algorithm for task scheduling in cloud computing

In the context of cloud computing, the task scheduling issue has an immediate effect on service quality. Task scheduling is the process of assigning work to available resources based on requirements. The objective of this NP-hard problem is to identify the ideal timetable for resource allocation so that more tasks can be done in less time. Several algorithms have been presented thus far to solve the problem of work scheduling. In this paper proposes an Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (IPSO) algorithm to address the aforementioned issue. In order to shorten the execution time of the original Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm for task scheduling in the cloud computing environment, a multi-adaptive learning strategy is employed. In its initial population phase, the proposed Multi Adaptive Learning for Particle Swarm Optimization (MALPSO) defines two sorts of particles: ordinary particles and locally best particles. During this phase, the population's variety is reduced and the likelihood of reaching the local optimum rises. This study compares the proposed approach to various algorithms based on four criteria: makespan, load balancing, stability, and efficiency. Additionally, we examine the proposed technique using the CEC 2017 benchmark. Compared to what is currently known, the suggested method can solve the problem in less time and get the best answer for most of the criteria. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Topological defects on solutions of the non-relativistic equation for extended double ring-shaped potential

In this study, we focus into the non-relativistic wave equation described by the Schrodinger equation, specifically considering angular-dependent potentials within the context of a topological defect background generated by a cosmic string. Our primary goal is to explore quasi-exactly solvable problems by introducing an extended ring-shaped potential. We utilize the Bethe ansatz method to determine the angular solutions, while the radial solutions are obtained using special functions. Our findings demonstrate that the eigenvalue solutions of quantum particles are intricately influenced by the presence of the topological defect of the cosmic string,resulting in significant modifications compared to those in a flat space background. The existence of the topological defect induces alterations in the energy spectra, disrupting ***, we extend our analysis to study the same problem in the presence of a ring-shaped potential against the background of another topological defect geometry known as a point-like global monopole. Following a similar procedure, we obtain the eigenvalue solutions and analyze the results. Remarkably, we observe that the presence of a global monopole leads to a decrease in the energy levels compared to the flat space results. In both cases, we conduct a thorough numerical analysis to validate our findings.

We investigate prophet inequalities with competitive ratios approaching 1, seeking to generalize k-uniform matroids. We first show that large girth does not suffice: for all k, there exists a matroid of girth ≥ k and a prophet inequality instance on that matroid whose optimal competitive ratio is12. Next, we show k-fold matroid unions do suffice: we provide a prophet inequality with competitive ratio (Formula presented) for any k-fold matroid union. Our prophet inequality follows from an online contention resolution scheme. The key technical ingredient in our online contention resolution scheme is a novel bicriterion concentration inequality for arbitrary monotone 1-Lipschitz functions over independent items which may be of independent interest. Face recognition (FR) technology has numerous applications in artificial intelligence including biometrics, security,authentication, law enforcement, and surveillance. Deep learning (DL) models, notably convolutional neuralnetworks (CNNs), have shown promising results in the field of FR. However CNNs are easily fooled since theydo not encode position and orientation correlations between features. Hinton et al. envisioned Capsule Networksas a more robust design capable of retaining pose information and spatial correlations to recognize objects morelike the brain does. Lower-level capsules hold 8-dimensional vectors of attributes like position, hue, texture, andso on, which are routed to higher-level capsules via a new routing by agreement algorithm. This provides capsulenetworks with viewpoint invariance, which has previously evaded CNNs. This research presents a FR model basedon capsule networks that was tested using the LFW dataset, COMSATS face dataset, and own acquired photos usingcameras measuring 128 × 128 pixels, 40 × 40 pixels, and 30 × 30 pixels. The trained model outperforms state-ofthe-art algorithms, achieving 95.82% test accuracy and performing well on unseen faces that have been blurred orrotated. Additionally, the suggested model outperformed the recently released approaches on the COMSATS facedataset, achieving a high accuracy of 92.47%. Based on the results of this research as well as previous results, capsulenetworks perform better than deeper CNNs on unobserved altered data because of their special equivarianceproperties.

Ultra-low power MoS2 optoelectronic synapse with wavelength sensitivity for color target recognition

Optoelectronic synapses that integrate visual perception and pre-processing hold significant potential for neuromorphic vision systems（NVSs）. However, due to a lack of wavelength sensitivity, existing NVS mainly focuses on gray-scale image processing, making it challenging to recognize color images. Additionally, the high power consumption of optoelectronic synapses, compared to the 10 fJ energy consumption of biological synapses, limits their broader application. To address these challenges, an energy-efficient NVS capable of color target recognition in a noisy environment was developed,utilizing a MoS2optoelectronic synapse with wavelength sensitivity. Benefiting from the distinct photon capture capabilities of 450, 535, and 650 nm light, the optoelectronic synapse exhibits wavelength-dependent synaptic plasticity, including excitatory postsynaptic current（EPSC）, paired-pulse facilitation（PPF）, and long-term plasticity（LTP）. These properties can effectively mimic the visual memory and color discrimination functions of the human vision system. Results demonstrate that the NVS, based on MoS2optoelectronic synapses, can eliminate the color noise at the sensor level, increasing color image recognition accuracy from 50% to 90%. Importantly, the optoelectronic synapse operates at a low voltage spike of0.0005 V, consuming only 0.075 fJ per spike, surpassing the energy efficiency of both existing optoelectronic and biological synapses. This ultra-low power, color-sensitive device eliminates the need for color filters and offers great promise for future deployment in filter-free NVS.

The utilization of deep learning technology for object detection offers the notable benefit of attaining high levels of accuracy. The level of accuracy attained is contingent upon the duration of processing time required by the deep learning technology. The algorithm for object detection is commonly referred to as You Only Look Once (YOLO). This study presents a novel object detection algorithm utilizing the Yolov5 framework, coupled with a substantial dataset. The improvement of YOLOv5 commenced with the incorporation of the Spatial Pyramid Pooling Fast module (SPPF) into the yolov5s neck network to extract multiple scale image features. Then, the depth of the backbone SPPF module has been raised from 1024 to 2048 to improve accuracy. The modified YOLOV5 model was utilized for object detection, resulting in the extraction of object information categorized into seven distinct classes. The achieved results include a mean average precision (mAP) of 0.821 at an intersection over union (IoU) threshold of 0.5, and a mAP of 0.386 within the IoU range of 0.5 to 0.95, with a precision value of 0.761. Additionally, a recall value of 0.769 was obtained. The application of our research framework has demonstrated its effectiveness in enhancing the performance of object detection algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.
