Currently, efficient task scheduling and resource allocation processes are crucial for optimizing performance in cloud computing environments. In this paper, we introduce a novel approach that prioritizes tasks based on their specific requirements and allocates resources accordingly. Task priority is determined through a scoring threshold that considers different requirements such as deadline, temporal requirements, and task length. To ensure efficient matching, virtual machines (VMs) are categorized into three distinct groups using K-means clustering. Simulations conducted within the CloudSim simulator demonstrate the effectiveness of this method, leading to significant reductions in makespan and energy consumption, while simultaneously improving resource utilization compared to existing algorithms.

Emerging integrated space and terrestrial networks (ISTN) built upon low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations aim at providing planet-wide Internet services, not only for residential users, but also for mobile users (e.g., in airplane and cruise scenarios). Efficiently managing global mobility and keeping connections active for mobile users is critical for ISTN operators. However, our quantitative analysis identifies that existing mobility management (MM) schemes suffer from frequent connection interruptions and long latency in ISTN scenarios. The fundamental challenge stems from a unique characteristic of ISTNs: not only users are mobile, but also core network infrastructures (i.e., LEO satellites) are frequently changing their locations in the *** facilitate seamless and low-latency satellite Internet services, this paper presents SkyCastle, a novel network-based global mobility management mechanism. SkyCastle incorporates two key techniques to address frequent connection interruptions in ISTNs. First, to reduce the interruption time, SkyCastle adopts distributed satellite anchors to track the location changes of mobile nodes, manage handovers and avoid routing convergence. Second, SkyCastle leverages an anchor manager to schedule MM functionalities at satellites to reduce deployment costs while guaranteeing low latency. Extensive evaluations combining real constellation information and mobile user trajectories show that: SkyCastle can improve up to 55.8% uninterrupted time and reduce 47.8% latency as compared to other existing MM solutions.

Performing feature selection on a small number of instances with high-dimensional datasets poses a needed challenge in preventing over-fitting. To address this issue, this paper proposes a sequential transfer-learning approach combined with a multi-objective genetic algorithm (STMO-GA) for feature selection. Firstly, for the multi-objective component of our method, we employ a Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) to generate a Pareto front. Then, features are ranked based on their number of appearances in the same Pareto front. Despite substantial progress in 3D human pose estimation from a single-view image, prior works rarely explore global and local correlations, leading to insufficient learning of human skeleton representations. To address this issue, we propose a novel Interweaved Graph and Attention Network (IGANet) that allows bidirectional communications between graph convolutional networks (GCNs) and attentions. Specifically, we introduce an IGA module, where attentions are provided with local information from GCNs and GCNs are injected with global information from attentions. Additionally, we design a simple yet effective U-shaped multi-layer perceptron (uMLP), which can capture multi-granularity information for body joints. Extensive experiments on two popular benchmark datasets (i.e. Human3.6M and MPI-INF-3DHP) are conducted to evaluate our proposed method.
