In this paper, we have proposed a method that consists of combination of different methods. First we have performed enhancement on breast mammogram to enhance the image quality. After that discrete cosine transform has been applied for features extraction. Bayesian Classifier has been used for classification into benign and malignant. It has been noted that results are very much satisfactory. We have used MIAS data set for experimentation purpose. Proposed method performs good when we have tested on different images.

The competitive development and optimization of manufacturing systems challenge the collaboration and innovation of enterprises. Different information, thinking, and points of view have to be exchanged across engineering, decision-making, and executive levels safely and effectively. The Virtual Reality (VR) technologies provide the users advanced Human-computer-Interfaces for designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex manufacturing systems. The objective of this paper is to describe a VR-based approach that allows the simultaneous visualization, investigation, and analysis for factory planning. This gives global entities a competitive advantage when conducting business.

Recent advances in crowd simulation techniques have led to realistic agent and group behavior through elaborate behavioral models, complex motion planning algorithms and impressive physics systems. As many crowd simulation solutions typically target only specific types of environment and scenario, a variety of special-purpose methods and systems has emerged that are hard to re-configure and re-use in other contexts. Solving this situation demands a higher-level approach that takes re-use and configuration of crowds as a priority, for adequate application in a broad variety of scenarios, virtual environments and inter- action with the entities present in that environment. In this article we propose semantic crowds , a novel approach that allows one to re-use the same crowds for virtually any environment, and have them use the objects available in it in a meaningful manner, without any modification. To have the agents autonomously interact within any virtual world, we minimize in them the information relative to what objects do and how to use them. Instead, that information is stored in the objects themselves, which the agents can then query, based on what they plausibly want to achieve. To facilitate creating such crowds, we devel- oped an interactive crowd editor that provides high-level editing parameters for defining crowd templates. We illustrate the flexibility of semantic crowds by means of two cases, in which we let the same crowd populate quite differently configured airport terminal environments. These examples also highlight that this modular approach easily combines with your custom implementations of agent behavior model and/or motion planner.
In this paper we present a novel plausible rendering method for mixed reality systems, which is useful for many real-life application scenarios, like architecture, product visualization or edutainment. To allow virtua...

In this paper we introduce Structured Local Predictors (SLP) - A new formulation that considers the image labelling problem from a structured learning point of view. SLP are locally operating models, which provide a per-pixel labelling by exploiting contextual relations, learned from complex interactions between labels and a customizable intermediate representation of the image data. Our first key contribution is to handle flexible configurations of pairwise interactions between image pixels while allowing them to be made arbitrarily dependent on the image data. Moreover, we pose the parameter learning process as a convex, structured-learning problem, which can be efficiently solved in a globally optimal way due to the introduction of a continuous, structured output space. Finally, we provide an interface to our model by means of a quantization space, allowing to define task-specific intermediate representations for the input data. In our experiments we demonstrate the broad applicability of our model for tasks like inpainting and semantic labelling.

Immersive 3D Virtual Environments (VE) have become affordable for many research centers. However, a complete solution needs several integration steps to be fully operational. Some of these steps are difficult to accomplish and require an uncommon combination of different skills. This tutorial presents the most recent techniques developed to address this problem, from displays to software tools. The hardware in a typical VR installations combines projectors, screens, speakers, computers, tracking and I/O devices. The tutorial will discuss hardware options, explaining their advantages and disadvantages. We will cover design decisions from basic software and hardware design, through user tracking, multimodal human-computer interfaces and acoustic rendering, to how to administrate the whole solution. Additionally, we will provide an introduction to existing tracking technologies, explaining how the most common devices work, while focusing on infrared optical tracking. Finally, we briefly cover integration software and middleware developed for most VE settings.

Failure bitmaps of manufactured memory arrays may contain the information of some systematic defects and have hence been used to monitor the process and to improve the memory yield. It is important to have an accurate flow to classify the memory failure bitmap signatures. The memory bitmap signature classification can be either dictionary based or machine learning based. This paper introduces a hybrid flow that can combine dictionary based and machine learning based methods. The proposed method can enhance the accuracy of signature classification, and more importantly, it has the capability of learning new memory bitmap signatures unseen before.
