Non-orthogonal multiple access schemes with higher spectral efficiency and the capability of accessing more users than orthogonal multiple access (OMA) scheme is preferred for the fifth generation (5G) wireless networks. In this work, a non-orthogonal transmission scheme called pattern division multiple access (PDMA) is proposed for the 5G wireless communication systems. Two pattern matrices are proposed for 150% and 200% overloaded PDMA systems. Then, a low complexity symbol-wise belief propagation iterative detection and decoding (BPIDD) algorithm for multiple user detection is proposed. Numerical results and analysis provided by utilizing extrinsic information transfer chart show that the proposed scheme outperforms the traditional OMA systems significantly, and the performance of the proposed scheme is better than that of the existing schemes up to 1 dB. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed scheme is superior to the existing schemes and the proposed BPIDD algorithm is better than that of the BP algorithm over 0.5 dB.

The WSDM Cup 2017 Triple scoring challenge is aimed at calculating and assigning relevance scores for triples from type-like relations. Such scores are a fundamental ingredient for ranking results in entity search. In this paper, we propose a method that uses neural embedding techniques to accurately calculate an entity score for a triple based on its nearest neighbor. We strive to develop a new latent semantic model with a deep structure that captures the semantic and syntactic relations between words. Our method has been ranked among the top performers with accuracy - 0.74, average score difference - 1.74, and average Kendall's Tau - 0.35. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.

We show that simple, commercially sourced n-channel silicon field-effect transistors (nFETs) operating under closed loop control exhibit an;«3-fold improvement in pH readout resolution to (7.2±0.3)×10-3at a bandwidth of 10 Hz when compared with the open loop operation commonly employed by integrated ion-sensitive field-effect transistors (ISFETs). We leveraged the improved nFET performance to measure the change in solution pH arising from the activity of a pathological form of the kinase Cdk5, an enzyme implicated in Alzheimer's disease, and showed quantitative agreement with previous measurements. The improved pH resolution was realized while the devices were operated in a remote sensing configuration with the pH sensing element off-chip and connected electrically to the FET gate terminal. We compared these results with those measured by using a custom-built dual-gate 2D field-effect transistor (dg2DFET) fabricated with 2D semi-conducting MoS2 channels and a moderate device gain, a=8. Under identical solution conditions the pH resolution of the nFETs was only 2-fold worse than the dg2DFETs pH resolution of (3.9±0.7)×10-3. Finally, using the nFETs, we demonstrated the effectiveness of a custom polypeptide, p5, as a therapeutic agent in restoring the function of Cdk5. We expect that the straight-forward modifications to commercially sourced nFETs demonstrated here will lower the barrier to widespread adoption of these remote-gate devices and enable sensitive bioanalytical measurements for high throughput screening in drug discovery and precision medicine applications. Pt metallic has been supported on TiO2 surface using different methods, Here, Pt doped TiO2 (Pt-TiO2) sol gel thin film were successfully produced by reducing chloroplatinc acid (H2PtCl6). The structures of prepared composites were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The physical morphologies of the composites were examined using transmission electron microscope (TEM). Model transformations are an important cornerstone of model-driven engineering, a discipline which facilitates the abstraction of relevant information of a system as models. The success of the final system mainly depends on the optimization of these models through model transformations. Currently, the application of transformations is realized either by following the apply-as-long-as-possible strategy or by the provision of explicit rule orchestrations. This implies two main limitations. First, the optimization objectives are implicitly hidden in the transformation rules and their orchestration. Second, manually finding the best orchestration for a particular scenario is a major challenge due to the high number of possible combinations. To overcome these limitations, we present a novel framework that builds on the non-intrusive integration of optimization and model transformation technologies. In particular, we formulate the transformation orchestration task as an optimization problem, which allows for the efficient exploration of the transformation space and explication of the transformation objectives. Our generic framework provides several search algorithms and guides the user in providing a proper search configuration. We present different instantiations of our framework to demonstrate its feasibility, applicability, and benefits using several case studies. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. — —Microwave imaging for breast cancer detection is based on the contrast in the electrical properties of healthy fatty breast tissues. This paper presents an industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) bands comparative study of five microstrip patch antennas for microwave imaging at a frequency of 2.45 GHz. The choice of one antenna is made for an antenna array composed of 8 antennas for a microwave breast imaging system. Each antenna element is arranged in a circular configuration so that it can be directly faced to the breast phantom for better tumor detection. This choice is made by putting each antenna alone on the Breast skin to study the electric field, magnetic fields and current density in the healthy tissue of the breast phantom designed and simulated in Ansoft High Frequency Simulation software (HFSS). Reconstructing network connectivity from the collective dynamics of a system typically requires access to its complete continuous-time evolution, although these are often experimentally inaccessible. Here we propose a theory for revealing physical connectivity of networked systems only from the event time series their intrinsic collective dynamics generate. Representing the patterns of event timings in an event space spanned by interevent and cross-event intervals, we reveal which other units directly influence the interevent times of any given unit. For illustration, we linearize an event-space mapping constructed from the spiking patterns in model neural circuits to reveal the presence or absence of synapses between any pair of neurons, as well as whether the coupling acts in an inhibiting or activating (excitatory) manner. The proposed model-independent reconstruction theory is scalable to larger networks and may thus play an important role in the reconstruction of networks from biology to social science and engineering.

The proximity between physical and cyber worlds is permitting the appearance of Cyber-Physical systems (CPS), formed by users and devices (physical) interacting with services, components and applications (cyber). In CPS, where unpredictability is an important challenge, two characteristics must be present in the developed systems: i) low coupling among interacting modules and ii) self-adaptive capabilities. In that direction, this paper describes an uncoupled sensor and actuator component-based infrastructure for self adaptive CPS. Its main contribution is two-fold: i) a lightweight and interoperable mechanism to specify and manage sensors and actuators, built on top of an ii) uncoupled communication and coordination mechanism for cyberphysical entities. © 2016 ACM.

This paper is concerned with a compositional approach for constructing abstractions of interconnected discretetime stochastic control systems. The abstraction framework is based on new notions of so-called stochastic simulation functions, using which one can quantify the distance between original interconnected stochastic control systems and their abstractions in the probabilistic setting. Accordingly, one can leverage the proposed results to perform analysis and synthesis over abstract interconnected systems, and then carry the results over concrete ones. In the first part of the paper, we derive sufficient small-gain type conditions for the compositional quantification of the distance in probability between the interconnection of stochastic control subsystems and that of their abstractions. In the second part of the paper, we focus on the class of discrete-Time linear stochastic control systems with independent noises in the abstract and concrete subsystems. For this class of systems, we propose a computational scheme to construct abstractions together with their corresponding stochastic simulation functions. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results by constructing an abstraction (totally 4 dimensions) of the interconnection of four discrete-Time linear stochastic control subsystems (together 100 dimensions) in a compositional fashion.
