Given a desired signal yd=(yid)i∈{0,…,N}, we investigate the optimal control, which applied to nonlinear discrete distributed system xi+1= Axi+ Exi+ Bui, to give a desired output yd. BthyDra+: Towards a Comprehensive Model to Conduct Cross-project Defect Prediction

Cross-project defect prediction (CPDP) is a field of study where researchers need to build a universal model by using within-project data to predict defects on other projects. However, variations in the distribution of source and target projects have an influence on the performance of classifiers. To enable effective cross-project defect prediction, we propose a comprehensive model containing data preprocessing and classifier transferring to construct a better classification space and strengthen the performance of classifiers. In preprocessing step, one baseline is calculated for every dataset from its non-defective samples based on the distance to all other non-defective samples and the data is transformed by using rank function. Genetic algorithm and ensemble learning are selected as the way in transferring step to extract effective representation from source projects and boost the capability of weak classifiers. We use Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine and Classification and Regression Trees as classifiers and apply this model on five open resource projects (one Apache and four Eclipse projects) and NASA MDP dataset. Selecting accuracy as fitness in genetic algorithm improves the performance of classification. The model we proposed yields similar results and obtains higher precision comparing the within-project models. Meanwhile, it obtains better performance than the state-of-the-art methods on cross-project defect prediction. These results show that our model provides an opportunity to training classifiers by using more samples from different projects. © 2018 computer Society of the Republic of China. There is a dearth of simulation environments that conduct a comprehensive cyber risk assessment and provide insights that are accessible for decision makers and operational folks. During the Winter simulation Conference 2019, a group of experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities for developing simulation platforms for cyber risk management. The panel will focus on issues with integrating technologies into simulation platforms, loss of fidelity due to lack of access to cyber datasets and complexity involved in representing cyber-physical systems. This paper is a collection of position papers of the participating experts supporting their viewpoints that will be captured in the panel discussion.

Critical infrastructure systems spanning from transportation to nuclear operations are vulnerable to cyber attacks. Cyber-insurance and cyber-threat information sharing are two prominent mechanisms to defend cybersecurity issues proactively. However, standardization and realization of these choices have many bottlenecks. In this paper, we discuss the benefits and importance of cybersecurity information sharing and cyber-insurance in the current cyber-warfare situation. We model a standard game theoretic participation model for cybersecurity information exchange (CYBEX) and discuss the applicability of economic tools in addressing important issues related to CYBEX and cyber-insurance. We also pose several open research challenges, which need to be addressed for developing a robust cyber-risk management capability. © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This review article provides an overview of structurally oriented, experimental datasets that can be used to benchmark protein force fields, focusing on data generated by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and room temperature (RT) protein crystallography. We discuss why these observables are useful for assessing force field accuracy, how they can be calculated from simulation trajectories, and statistical issues that arise when comparing simulations with experiment. The target audience for this article is computational researchers and trainees who develop, benchmark, or use protein force fields for molecular simulations. © 2023, CC BY.

Software Intrusion Detection Evaluation System: A Cost-Based Evaluation of Intrusion Detection Capability

In this paper, we consider a cost-based extension of intrusion detection capability (CID). An objective metric motivated by information theory is presented and based on this formulation;a package for computing the intrusion detection capability of intrusion detection system (IDS), given certain input parameters is developed using Java. In order to determine the expected cost at each IDS operating point, the decision tree method of analysis is employed, and plots of expected cost and intrusion detection capability against false positive rate were generated. The point of intersection between the maximum intrusion detection capability and the expected cost is selected as the optimal operating point. Considering an IDS in the context of its intrinsic ability to detect intrusions at the least expected cost, findings revealed that the optimal operating point is the most suitable for the given IDS. The cost-based extension is used to select optimal operating point, calculate expected cost, and compare two actual intrusion detectors. The proposed cost-based extension of intrusion detection capability will be very useful to information technology (IT), telecommunication firms, and financial institutions, for making proper decisions in evaluating the suitability of an IDS for a specific operational environment.

A credible mechanism of service about data resource in cloud computing

In order to protect the security of service in cloud computing, we propose a credible mechanism of service for data resource. In the mechanism, we first build a system model and put forward its implementation process. Then, we design an encryption method used in the system model. On this basis, we discuss the function of the third party trusted platform. All of these constitute a credible mechanism of service about data resource in cloud computing. In order to verify the feasibility of the mechanism, a series of experiments have been done. The experimental results show that it is feasible to ensure the security of service about data resource in cloud computing. © 2018, Femto Technique Co., Ltd.

First,we devise in this paper,a multi-regions discrete-time model which describes the spatial-temporal spread of an epidemic which starts from one region and enters to regions which are connected with their neighbors by any kind of anthropological *** suppose homogeneous Susceptible-Infected-Removed(SIR)populations,and we consider in our simulations,a grid of colored cells,which represents the whole domain affected by the epidemic while each cell can represent a sub-domain or ***,in order to minimize the number of infected individuals in one region,we propose an optimal control approach based on a travel-blocking vicinity strategy which aims to control only one cell by restricting movements of infected people coming from all neighboring ***,we show the influence of the optimal control approach on the controlled *** should also note that the cellular modeling approach we propose here,can also describes infection dynamics of regions which are not necessarily attached one to an other,even if no empty space can be viewed between *** theoretical method we follow for the characterization of the travel-locking optimal controls,is based on a discrete version of Pontryagin's maximum principle while the numerical approach applied to the multi-points boundary value problems we obtain here,is based on discrete progressive-regressive iterative *** illustrate our modeling and control approaches by giving an example of 100 regions.

With the development of Internet-of-Things (IoT) technology, the notion of smart city concept comes to reality. Smart city covers a broad range of scenarios for citizens in their everyday life, such as smart home, smart traffic and smart healthcare. However, considering the IoT technology itself still under security threats, smart city security and resilience is a critical factor for truly embracing the smart age of everyday life. Current technology has a difficult time providing security in smart city architectures because of its decentralized and distributed nature. As a recently new technology, Blockchain uses a decentralized and distributed security approach to adding security to a decentralized and distributed IoT system. This paper presents a blockchain based solution to provide security and resilience in smart cities and analyze potential security concerns in the integration of blockchain technology into smart city infrastructure. Each of the concerns are discussed in detail.

Brain-computer-Interface (BCI) can be used for many purposes in many areas, especially in the field of robotic and rehabilitation. But nowadays only single BCI applications have been applied and this has given a lot of limitations to this technology. So one of the step to optimize the BCI's capabilities, it should be used together with other up-to-date technologies. One of the most widely used and update technologies in the rehabilitation and robotic is the functional electrical stimulation (FES). This combination of BCI and FES can provide many benefits such as in rehabilitation applied in stroke rehabilitation and mental depression treatment while for robotic will give benefit in robot control. This study present a simulation and control technique for body motion via this combination. This combination will bring better handling in control some devices. Emotiv Insight will be used as a brainwave data capture. The eye blinking activity of the subject was detected using the Emotiv device and then be translated to control the device in simulation environment. The system reliably enabled subjects to control the body motion through their brain.
