Basic recursive summation and common dot product algorithm have a backward error bound that grows linearly with the vector dimension. Blanchard [1] proposed a class of fast and accurate summation and dot product algorithms respectively called FABsum and FABdot, which trades off the calculation accuracy and speed by the block size. Castaldo [2] proposed a multi-layer block summation and dot product algorithm called SuperBlocksum and SuperBlockdot that can increase the accuracy while adding almost no additional calculations. We combine the idea of [1] with the multi-layer block structure to propose SuperFABsum (for "super fast and accurate block summation") and SuperFABdot (for "super fast and accurate block dot product"). Our algorithms have two variants, one is SuperFAB(within), the other is SuperFAB(outside). Our algorithms further improve accuracy and speed compared with FAB and SuperBlock. We conducted accuracy and speed tests on the high-performance FT2000+ processor. Experimental results show that SuperFABdot(within) algorithm is more accurate than FABdot and SuperBlockdot. Compared with FABdot, SuperFABdot(outside) algorithm can achieve up to 1.2 × performance speedup while ensuring similar accuracy. © 2022, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.

The utilization of emergent generative artificial intelligence (GAI) within the realm of unmanned vehicles (UVs) can boost edge intelligence and potentially enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of rescue operations. However, to facilitate specialized generative edge intelligence in dynamic UV networks, GAI models need to tap into local data and conduct online fine-tuning, and the dispersed distribution of UVs makes distributed fine-tuning paradigms crucial. Although the federated generative model fine-tuning brings a potential solution, the large number of parameter transmissions involved in its fine-tuning process are often constrained by communication bottlenecks, which are more pronounced for resource-constrained UV networks. To cope with these challenges, we introduce an energy-efficient GAI model fine-tuning framework for the hierarchical UV networks, which employs over-the-air technology to save computational resource costs for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) during federated aggregation within a federated learning paradigm. Thereafter, we study the resource allocation problem in the fine-tuning process of the generative model and formulate a joint optimization problem for the bandwidth allocation, power control, computation resource allocation, and denoising factor control, aiming to minimize the system energy consumption. Then, we decouple the original problem into four tractable subproblems, and propose a block coordinate descent algorithm to solve them iteratively. Particularly, we derive a closed-form solution for the denoising factor to minimize the local model uploading transmission energy consumption under a specific AirComp communication error threshold. Simulation based on the state-of-the-art generative models shows that our AirComp-assisted federated generative model fine-tuning scheme can achieve satisfactory customized field-of-view image generation capability compared with the traditional fine-tuning scheme in an energy-efficient way. © 2015 I

This study investigates the global consensus problem of mixed-order multi-agent systems. Firstly, a control strategy based on switching functions is proposed to ensure the effective operation of fuzzy control in the fuzzy region. Secondly, the differential equation model satisfying the global Lipschitz condition is extended, and a more universal model framework is constructed. Furthermore, online learning laws with time-varying σ-modifications are introduced to effectively guarantee the global asymptotic convergence of the closed-loop multi-agent systems. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated through designed simulation experiments.

This paper presents a thorough exploration of Cryptoprocessors in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT). Robust Beamforming for Downlink Multi-Cell systems: A Bilevel Optimization Perspective

Utilization of inter-base station cooperation for information processing has shown great potential in enhancing the overall quality of communication services (QoS) in wireless communication networks. Nevertheless, such cooperations require the knowledge of channel state information (CSI) at base stations (BSs), which is assumed to be perfectly known. However, CSI errors are inevitable in practice which necessitates beamforming techniques that can achieve robust performance in the presence of channel estimation errors. Existing approaches relax the robust beamforming design problems into semidefinite programming (SDP), which can only achieve a solution that is far from being optimal. To this end, this paper views robust beamforming design problems from a bilevel optimization perspective. In particular, we focus on maximizing the worst-case weighted sum-rate (WSR) in the downlink multi-cell multi-user multiple-input single-output (MISO) system considering bounded CSI errors. We first reformulate this problem into a bilevel optimization problem and then develop an efficient algorithm based on the cutting plane method. A distributed optimization algorithm has also been developed to facilitate the parallel processing in practical settings. Numerical results are provided to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in terms of performance and complexity, particularly in the presence of CSI uncertainties. This paper deals with an intelligent decision-making strategy of energy management for a smart grid within an element storage in order to reduce the system cost and improve its reliability. Indeed, the integration of distributed energy storage devices allows the customers to store energy and reuse at a later time or delayed some appliances operation according to a time-varying price signal. The adopted strategy is based on an artificial intelligence control algorithm 'fuzzy logic'. The main objective is to determine the appropriate source (grid or battery) used for meeting the consumer. The decision solution shows the system reliability where the switches are synchronized. Switches draw electricity from the grid for both load and battery when price is low and in contrary when electricity price is high, we find a variation's price correspondance with the switch drawing electricity from the battery. The obtained results are verified carrying out Matlab simulation using real data such as the electricity price (Price (t)) and the battery state of charge (SOC (t)). © 2023 IEEE.

A blockchain is a shared database allowing trust to be created between individuals without using intermediaries. The architecture here is decentralized, the data is distributed among the users, and therefore the information can never be erased. Today, many fields are interested in the development of products and technical solutions based on Blockchain technology. In this paper, we investigate blockchain in developing a Secure Shared Medical Record system (SSMR) for health data management. The proposed system aims to collect, store and share electronic medical records securely. It also makes it possible to provide doctors, for example, with medical information from other healthcare professionals, by defining a medical profile for each patient. © 2022 IEEE.

User-facing applications running in modern datacenters exhibit irregular request patterns and are implemented using a multitude of services with tight latency requirements (30--250μs). These characteristics render existing energy-conserving techniques ineffective when processors are idle due to the long transition time (order of 100μs) from a deep CPU core idle power state (C-state). While prior works propose management techniques to mitigate this inefficiency, we tackle it at its root with AgileWatts (AW): a new deep CPU core C-state architecture optimized for datacenter server processors targeting latency-sensitive *** drastically reduces the transition latency from deep CPU core idle power states while retaining most of their power savings based on three key ideas. First, AW eliminates the latency (several microseconds) of saving/restoring the core context when powering-off/-on the core in a deep idle state by i) implementing medium-grained power-gates, carefully distributed across the CPU core, and ii) retaining context in the power-ungated domain. Second, AW eliminates the flush latency (several tens of microseconds) of the L1/L2 caches when entering a deep idle state by keeping L1/L2 content power-ungated. A small control logic also remains ungated to serve cache coherence traffic. AW implements cache sleep-mode and leakage reduction for the power-ungated domain by lowering a core's voltage to the minimum operational level. Third, using a state-of-the-art power efficient all-digital phase-locked loop (ADPLL) clock generator, AW keeps the PLL active and locked during the idle state, cutting microseconds of wake-up latency at negligible power *** evaluation with an accurate industrial-grade simulator calibrated against an Intel Skylake server shows that AW reduces the energy consumption of Memcached by up to 71% (35% on average) with <1% end-to-end performance degradation. We observe similar trends for other evaluated services (MySQL and Kafka).

The sending and exchanging of data have become essential in the current revolution of industry 4.0 and digital transformation and all aspects of life. Ensuring the security of transmitted data continues to be a critical issue due to the fast advancement in technology. The studied problem is proven to be NP-hard in the strong sense. The contribution of this paper is twofold. First, we propose a network architecture that enables multilevel data sharing through two routers based on a data category classification constraint. Second, we propose a set of heuristic algorithms for an NP-Hard problem. The constraint of the studied problem is described as follows. Two files belonging to the same category of confidential level should not be transmitted simultaneously through the routers. The proposed architecture involves a scheduler component responsible for finding a schedule that minimizes the maximum estimated transmission time respecting the data category classification constraint. An experimental result is carried out to show the performance of the proposed algorithms. Several indicators are used to measure the performance of algorithms. The best algorithm is the Modified decreasing estimated-transmission time algorithm in 91.6% of cases. The experimental results confirm the practicality of the proposed scheme in terms of two-machines scheduling problems. © 2021 ACM.
