With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things,along with the growing demand for privacy-preserving transmission,the need for efficient and secure communication systems has become increasingly *** communication methods transmit data at the bit level without considering its semantic significance,leading to redundant transmission overhead and reduced *** communication addresses this issue by extracting and transmitting only the mostmeaningful semantic information,thereby improving bandwidth ***,despite reducing the volume of data,it remains vulnerable to privacy risks,as semantic features may still expose sensitive *** address this,we propose an entropy-bottleneck-based privacy protection mechanism for semantic *** approach uses semantic segmentation to partition images into regions of interest(ROI)and regions of non-interest(RONI)based on the receiver’s needs,enabling differentiated semantic *** focusing transmission on ROIs,bandwidth usage is optimized,and non-essential data is *** entropy bottleneck model probabilistically encodes the semantic information into a compact bit stream,reducing correlation between the transmitted content and the original data,thus enhancing privacy *** proposed framework is systematically evaluated in terms of compression efficiency,semantic fidelity,and privacy *** comparative experiments with traditional and state-of-the-art methods,we demonstrate that the approach significantly reduces data transmission,maintains the quality of semantically important regions,and ensures robust privacy protection.

With the rapid development of smart agriculture, especially in managing greenhouse greenhouses with large areas, the current popular monitoring methods have limitations in their measurements. To make the system monitoring more comprehensive and remote control more convenient, this paper proposes a more integrated system design. This monitoring system uses ZigBee wireless communication technology for data transmission, multi-node data processing through data fusion algorithms, training YOLOv5 model for plant leaf pest and disease identification, uploading data to the IoT cloud platform for storage, and remotely controlling peripherals such as greenhouse lights, windows, and so on through APP. Based on the tomato planting environment for system debugging, monitoring the tomato growing environment and leaf diseases, disease recognition accuracy is about 90%, and farmers can adjust the planting mode in time, to realize science and technology to help farmers. © 2024 IEEE.

As the Internet of Things (IoT) technology continues to revolutionize, modern industrial production systems are undergoing profound changes. Current production methods require the expansion of production space to accommodate more equipment, raw materials and workers. The traditional monitoring systems mostly use a simple sensor monitoring method. This kind of monitoring method has the problems of too much monitoring data which is not easy to manage, and the system can not respond in time after the disaster occurs. Based on this situation, this paper proposes a node layout algorithm based industrial IoT environment monitoring system. The system utilizes Zigbee wireless communication technology to construct the network. The master station uses the Loongson 2K1000LA development board as the display and calculation terminal to interact with the cloud platform. The sub-station uses Loongson 1C102 development board as the main control chip to monitor the environmental data. The cloud platform carries out image recognition and sends peripherals control commands. Compared with the traditional monitoring system, this system reduces the peripheral response delay by more than 1.5 seconds, improves the monitoring efficiency by 33%, The peripheral response time difference is reduced by 1.499 seconds, an increase of 61.3%.and facilitates managers to formulate effective security prevention strategies. © 2024 IEEE.

New Systematic MDS Array Codes with Two Parities

Row-diagonal parity (RDP) code is a classical (k + 2, k) systematic maximum distance separable (MDS) array code with k ≤ L - 1 under sub-packetization level l = L - 1, where L is a prime integer. When k = L-1, its encoding requires 2 - 2/k XORs per original data bit, which exactly achieves theoretical optimal lower bound. In this paper, we present three new constructions of (k+2, k) systematic MDS array codes. First, under sub-packetization level l = 4, we novelly design a (17, 15) array code C1, where k can reach the largest possible value to satisfy the MDS property. Moreover, when k ≤ 7, the encoding complexity of its subcodes can exactly achieve the theoretical optimal 2 - 2/k XORs per original data bit, and likewise, the decoding complexity of the subcodes with k ≤ 4 is also exactly optimal. Under sub-packetization level l = L - 1 with certain primes L, the second construction yields an MDS array code C2 with k ≤ L(L-1)/2, and the encoding complexity of C2 is also exactly optimal for k = L-1, 2L-3. Furthermore, based on bit permutation, the third MDS array code C3 is obtained with k ≤ L(L-1) under sub-packetization level l = 2(L-1) with certain primes L. In particular, as an extension of C2, C3 exactly achieves the optimal encoding complexity for k = 2(2L - 3), which does not hold for other array codes in the literature. © 2020 IEEE.

A two Stage Mixed Integer Programming Model for Distributionally Robust State Based Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring

This paper presents a non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) model based on two-stage mixed-integer linear programming theory. Compared with other mixed integer optimization-based models, this paper model introduces fewer integer variables and richer absolute error function of load decomposition, which makes the power state selection of each device more accurate and the power consumption more accurate fitting. First, to tackle the issues related to noisy load data, an innovative load feature extraction model based on Kullback-Leibler distributionally robust optimization principles is introduced. Then the key features (power boundary/fluctuation features) of each device identified through this robust model are integrated into the constraints of the two-stage NILM model. The two-stage complementary framework includes: the determination of device state interval in the first stage;and the accurate fitting of device power consumption within the device state interval in the second stage. Comparative validation against existing optimization-based models on the AMPds, REFIT, and actual laboratory data sets demonstrate that our proposed model significantly enhances power decomposition accuracy and computational efficiency. In addition, the two-stage complementary framework and load feature extraction model can be applied to other optimization-based models of NILM to improve the computational efficiency of each model and the accuracy of load decomposition. © 2025 IEEE.

After the global pandemic,DaaS(desktop as a service)has become the first choice of many companies’remote working *** the desktops are usually deployed in the public cloud when using DaaS,customers are more cost-sensitive which boosts the requirement of proactive power *** researches in this area focus on virtual desktop infrastructure(VDI)session logon behavior modeling,but for the remote desktop service host(RDSH)-shared desktop pools,logoff optimization is also *** systems place sessions by round-robin or in a pre-defined order without considering their logoff ***,these approaches usually suffer from the situation that few left sessions prevent RDSH servers from being powered-off which introduces cost *** this paper,we propose session placement via adaptive user logoff prediction(SODA),an innovative compound model towards proactive RDSH session ***,an ensemble machine learning model that can predict session logoff time is combined with a statistical session placement bucket model to place RDSH sessions with similar logoff time in a more centralized manner on RDSH ***,the infrastructure cost-saving can be improved by reducing the resource waste introduced by those RDSH hosts with very few hanging sessions left for a long *** on real RDSH pool data demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed proactive session placement approach against existing static placement techniques.

It is difficult to extract targets under strong environmental disturbance in *** imaging(GI)is an innovative antiinterference imaging *** this paper,we propose a scheme for target extraction based on characteristicenhanced pseudo-thermal *** traditional GI which relies on training the detected signals or imaging results,our scheme trains the illuminating light fields using a deep learning network to enhance the target’s characteristic *** simulation and experimental results prove that our imaging scheme is sufficient to perform single-and multiple-target extraction at low *** addition,the effect of a strong scattering environment is discussed,and the results show that the scattering disturbance hardly affects the target extraction *** proposed scheme presents the potential application in target extraction through scattering media.

With the aging population, health issues have become a significant challenge for society. The increasing demand for remote medical services stems from changing interests in reducing healthcare costs and the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 globally. As the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud technology advance rapidly worldwide, this trend has driven the digital transformation of biotechnology and pharmaceutical-related industries. Health care is shifting from a focus on medical institutions to a decentralized approach, emphasizing care facilities and home-based services. However, remote medical care brings about certain challenges, such as limited appointment availability due to network constraints, concerns about internet security, data encryption, privacy issues, and lack of awareness among people in remote areas. With the continuous development and widespread adoption of technology, smart home systems have become an integral part of modern life. In this project, the system emphasizes interaction with the elderly and utilizes the multifunctionality of touch screens. It provides various features through a simple and user-friendly interface, including health monitoring, outpatient services, life assistance, and social interaction functions. A cost-efficient quantum access network with qubit-based synchronization

Quantum key distribution(QKD)is a physical layer encryption technique that enables two distant parties to exchange secure keys with information-theoretic *** the last two decades,QKD has transitioned from laboratory research to real-world applications,including multi-user quantum access networks(QANs).This network structure allows users to share a single-photon detector at a network node through time-division multiplexing,thereby significantly reducing the network ***,current QAN implementations require additional hardware for auxiliary tasks such as time *** address this issue,we propose a cost-efficient QAN that uses qubit-based *** this approach,the transmitted qubits facilitate time synchronization,eliminating the need for additional synchronization *** tested our scheme by implementing a network for two users and successfully achieved average secure key rates of 53.84 kbps and 71.90 kbps for each user over a 50-km commercial fiber *** addition,we investigated the capacity of the access network under cross-talk and loss *** simulation results demonstrate that this scheme can support a QAN with 64 users with key rates up to 1070 *** work provides a feasible and cost-effective way to implement a multi-user QKD network,further promoting the widespread application of QKD.

Owing to the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), smart electrical appliances bring convenience to life. However, smart home appliances are too cumbersome as their interface operations are mostly not intuitive with less practicability than expected. Taiwan has an island climate, and the summer weather is scorching. An easy-to-use and practical electric fan is indispensable for cooling off the heat, which is the research object of this study to make users feel comfortable. In this study, image recognition technology was introduced. The user turns on the fan manually or through the mobile APP, and selects the tracking mode through the mode function. The camera with the fan detects the user's position and then starts to track the user. The device is equipped with a smoke sensor and a camera to monitor the user's home. The fan proves the feasibility of the conceptual architecture. © 2024 IEEE.
