Lung diseases such as pneumonia and tuberculosis present significant global health challenges, leading to millions of deaths annually. Chest X-ray imaging is crucial for diagnosing these conditions, but interpretation often relies on specialized radiologists, creating barriers in resource-limited areas. This study introduces a novel framework integrating topological data analysis (TDA), deep learning with ResNet-50, and contrastive learning to enhance the accuracy and computational efficiency of chest X-ray analysis. TDA captures global topological structures, while ResNet-50 extracts detailed local features. Contrastive learning then optimizes the feature space, enhancing the model's discriminative power and generalization capabilities. Comprehensive evaluations on multiple datasets demonstrate the framework's robustness and effectiveness, showing substantial improvements in diagnostic performance and computational efficiency. These findings suggest that the proposed approach is well-suited for real-time clinical applications, especially in resource-limited settings. Future work will focus on further optimizing the model and exploring its application to other medical imaging modalities, broadening its clinical utility. © 2024 IEEE.

In the current era of extensive data usage across industries, data collection, preservation, utilization, and organization has become more challenging and nuanced because it is necessary to consider critical concerns such as data security, privacy, and legal issues, apart from efficiency issues. As a result, Thai government initiated the idea and effort to implement data governance throughout the government agency. This paper showcases the implementation of data governance in a governmental research organization with highly diverse structured and unstructured data. The implementation follows international standards and the guidelines of the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA). The executives set up the working body, including the data Governance Council and data Stewards, responsible for setting up and deploying policies and regulations. Creating awareness and the necessary infrastructure are the main focuses in the first-year phase. The metadata was designed to extend DGA's version and match the organization's unique requirements. A data catalog platform was developed accordingly. We organized activities to boost employee awareness and participation, including advertising and data catalog platform training. By the end of the first year of implementation, every organization unit had registered at least one data record into the data catalog. © 2023 IEEE.

Images are widely used in social networks, necessitating efficient and secure transmission, especially in bandwidth-constrained environments. This article aims to develop a color image encryption algorithm that enhances security while optimizing computational efficiency. A novel parallel color image encryption algorithm based on the 2-D logistic-Rulkov neuron map (2D-LRNM) is proposed. In this approach, the three channels of the color image are first separated. Cross-channel information interaction is introduced to form three new channels, which are then processed in parallel. During the encryption process of each channel, a block-wise parallel encryption mechanism is applied, ensuring simultaneous encryption of each block. This block-wise strategy effectively leverages parallel computing resources and balances the task load. To meet the demand for a large number of keystreams during encryption, the 2D-LRNM is introduced. It combines the simplicity and chaotic properties of the Logistic map with the multitimescale dynamics and neurodynamic behaviors of the Rulkov map. By overcoming the dimensional limitations inherent in the single Logistic map, this approach extends the system to a 2-D framework, significantly increasing the complexity of chaotic behavior and improving its unpredictability. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed encryption algorithm achieves high security and reduces computation time by approximately 83.3%. © 2014 IEEE.

In order to improve the coverage of concepts in epidemic management, this paper constructs an epidemic management ontology EMO to help manage and analyse epidemic data. First, based on the ISO/lEC 5087 city data model series of standards and TOVE method, EMO is constructed using Protégé. Secondly, the data types and their relationships required in the epidemic management use cases are defined. Finally, the instance data help to verify the ability of EMO to represent the city epidemic management data. Results show that EMO provides a clear, accurate and unified definition of epidemic management data, improves the efficiency of data sharing and integration, and reduces the difficulty of developing epidemic management tools. © 2023 IEEE.

Deep learning as a service (DLaaS) has become an effective business solution in numerous domains. Nevertheless, its service form has been proven vulnerable to model inference by previous research. Existing work on model inference attack relies on strong assumptions, such as the attacker knows the sample variance and model structure, which may not thoroughly reflect the attack’s potential threats. In this paper, we propose MC-infer, a zero-knowledge, real-data-free, and black-box model inference method inspired by Monte-Carlo sampling. In particular, MC-infer feeds random noises obtained from different distributions to the target model, and sniffs the corresponding target distributions according to its feedback. Then many samples are taken in these distributions to obtain enough robust noises. Finally, the distribution represented by the target model is fitted through these noises to perform model inference. Our extensive evaluations demonstrate that MC-infer can effectively infer the target model with less information, and general noise perturbation on the model’s outputs cannot defend against MC-infer. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The development of the Internet has made people more closely related and has put forward higher requirements for recommendation models. Most recommendation models are studied only for the long-term interests of users. In this paper, the interaction time between the user and the item is introduced as auxiliary information in the model construction. Interaction time is used to determine users' long-term preferences and short-term preferences. In this paper, temporal features are extracted by building a convolutional gated recurrent unit with attention neural network (CNN-GRU-Attention). Firstly, for the problem of accurate feature extraction, CNN are constructed to extract higher-level and more abstract features of themselves and transform high-dimensional data into low-dimensional data;secondly, for the problem of social temporality, GRU are used to not only extract temporal information, but also effectively reduce gradient dispersion, making model convergence and training easier;finally, Graph Attention networks are used to aggregate the social relationship information of users and items respectively, which constitute the final feature representation of users and items respectively. In particular, a modified cosine similarity is used to reduce the error caused by data insensitivity when constructing the social information of the item. In this study, simulation experiments are conducted on two publicly available datasets (Epinions and Ciao), and the experimental results show that the proposed recommended model performs better than other social recommendation models, improving the evaluation metrics of MAE and RMSE by 1.06%-1.33% and 1.19%-1.37%, respectively. The effectiveness of the model innovation is proved. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of large-scale industrial production, complex defects of different shapes and sizes can occur in industrial products and their components, and these defects seriously affect the performance of industrial products and their components, and being able to quickly and accurately identify defective industrial products and their components is an important task. Memory-based methods are usually used for anomaly detection, and these methods often rely on pre-trained models for feature extraction, but have high requirements on feature quality. In addition, patch-based methods mainly focus on local differences in feature embedding when detecting anomalies without explicitly exploiting broader contextual information, thus greatly affecting the robustness and accuracy of anomaly detection. Aiming at the above problems and requirements, this paper proposes a Feature Aggregation Network for Memory-Based Industrial Anomaly Detection (FANet), which is based on the pre-extraction of anomalous features, attentional attention to key features, information aggregation of multi-level and multi-scale features, and the FANet provides advanced performance in industrial image anomaly detection and localisation by pre-extraction of anomalous features, attentional attention to key features, information aggregation of multi-layered and multi-scale features, and introduction of environmental information in the anomaly score computation to perform industrial anomaly detection tasks, and using core set subsampling to reduce storage requirements. On the MVTec AD, FANet has an image-level AUROC score of 99.1% and a pixel-level AUROC score of 98.2%. Similarly high detection results were achieved on the ViSA dataset, further demonstrating the robustness of FANet. © 2024 IEEE.

In the realm of music composition, sentiment plays a pivotal role in connecting compositions with their audience, evoking emotions and memories. With the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI), there exists a burgeoning interest in utilizing AI for sentiment analysis in various domains, including textual data, social media, and film. This paper delves into the novel application of AI-driven sentiment analysis specifically tailored for music composition. Leveraging diverse music datasets across multiple genres and eras, we introduce an innovative methodology that breaks down music into foundational features such as melody, rhythm, timbre, and harmony. Through the application of advanced AI techniques, including neural networks and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models, we aim to accurately map these features to a wide spectrum of sentiments. Our results showcase not only the potential accuracy and precision of our chosen models but also the richness of music compositions they can produce, underscoring the viability of AI in enhancing the emotional depth of musical works. The implications of this research stretch from aiding composers in creating more resonant pieces to the potential therapeutic applications of AI-composed music, tailored to specific emotional needs. © 2024, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Medical entity disambiguation (MED) plays a crucial role in natural language processing and biomedical domains, which is the task of mapping ambiguous medical mentions to structured candidate medical entities from knowledge bases (KBs). However, existing methods for MED often fail to fully utilize the knowledge within medical KBs and overlook essential interactions between medical mentions and candidate entities, resulting in knowledge- and interaction-inefficient modeling and suboptimal disambiguation performance. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a novel approach, MED with Medical Mention Relation and Fine-grained Entity Knowledge (MMR-FEK). Specifically, MMR-FEK incorporates a mention relation fusion module and an entity knowledge fusion module, followed by an interaction module. The former employs a relation graph convolutional network to fuse mention relation information between medical mentions to enhance mention representations, while the latter leverages an attention mechanism to fuse synonym and type information of candidate entities to enhance entity representations. Afterwards, an interaction module is designed to employ a bidirectional attention mechanism to capture interactions between medical mentions and entities to generate the matching representation. Extensive experiments on two publicly available real-world datasets demonstrate MMR-FEK's superiority over state-of-the-art(SOTA) MED baselines across all metrics.
