With popularization of Web, there are billions of pages on Web, which contain affluent information of real world entities and their relations. Therefore, much research focuses on named entity extraction and entity relation discovery for constructing social networks which can reflect the real society. However, some former entity relation discovery approaches, extracting a small group of entities in a limited community or intranet, is not so scalable. So when it is applied to a large group of entities on Web, it may fail. In this paper, we employ co-occurrence to identify the relations between entities. The contribution of the paper is: 1. Empirically evaluating various frequently used measures for co-occurrence and find Cosine outperforms the others;2. Presenting two novel efficient algorithms for discovering relations between entities and comparing them.

As the Web increase drastically, more and more entity information come to appear on Web, including their profile information, their web log containing their idea, activity, speech and so on. However, there are many entities sharing same names. Such entities include persons, locations and so on. This paper presents an approach to estimate the number of entities sharing same name by employing many-to-one features. The basic idea is that the entities are not likely to share all other features even if they have the same name. We list some strategies for selecting key features, present an approach to extract the features on Web, and combine them to estimate the entity number. What is more, we also give a method to identify the fake information which will confuse us and filter them.

Nowadays mobile devices enable users to have various ways to surf on the Internet and broadband communication channels facilitate applications of online multimedia. Most network real-time multimedia applications run on TCP/IP protocol stack. Although several protocols are proposed to handle mobility management on the network layer, real-time stream transmission still suffers from severe roaming interruption and hence playback performance is worsened. The paper analyzes the roaming delay and transmission throughput in detail and evaluates the effect of multiple elements constituting the whole roaming delay. A service codenamed Swift Roaming system (SROAM) is proposed to reduce the roaming delay and increase the average transmission throughput. Some initial experiment results are provided to support the effectiveness of the methods proposed in the system.
