An EOQ Model with Breakable Items Considering Stock Dependent Demand and Lead Time Dependent Credit Period

In this paper, an EOQ model for breakable items to a retailer has been studied. Here, demand of the business is stock dependent. The breakability of the items is dependent on stock and holding cost. Here, a credit period has been offered to the retailer, which depends on lead time. Stock dependent demand and breakability are balanced by the lead time dependent credit period. The main intention of the present model is to detect the optimal order quantity, optimal lead time and to maximize the total profit of the whole business. Proactive management research continues to evolve over time. At the same time, they find applications in various fields of industry. Main approaches of complex objects managing are considered in this article. It is shown that today it is advisable to use approaches related to proactive control to control rolling stock with traction asynchronous electric motors. While using a mathematical model which describes the movement of a diesel train with three carriages, its application for the implementation of proactive control is demonstrated. Approaches related to the identification of the parameters of an object during its operation are proposed in order to clarify the parameters of the existing model in the control system. In this case, it is proposed to identify the parameters of the object at two stages: at the first (lower) level, to determine the parameters which are associated with traction asynchronous electric motors, and at the second (upper) level, the parameters which are associated with the movement of the train. The basic relationships which describe the identification process are given. © 2021 IEEE.

The Covid-19 pandemic has put the world in a serious crisis by damaging the functioning of many systems (i.e.,health, economy, trade). Online communities have also tried to find solutions to minimize the negative effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. One of these communities conducted a program in Turkey to minimize the risky effects brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program took place over a three-month period (April 2020 to June 2020) during the open innovation platform powered by innoCentrum. In this process, an accelerator program was carried out to gather, evaluate, and implement innovative ideas. During the evaluation phase of an idea, the assessments of other entrepreneurs who submitted ideas were also taken into consideration by a rating system. The aim of this study is to reveal whether there is a relationship between the contribution levels of crowds (entrepreneurs) and the best ideas selected during the evaluation phase. While the result of the study shows that there is a significant relationship between the average scores given by the crowds with the scores given by the mentors who mainly evaluated the ideas, there is no significant relationship between the number of crowds' comments and the number of crowds' vote with the scores given by the mentors.

Vehicle: Interfacing Neural Network Verifiers with Interactive Theorem Provers

Verification of neural networks is currently a hot topic in automated theorem proving. Progress has been rapid and there are now a wide range of tools available that can verify properties of networks with hundreds of thousands of nodes. In theory this opens the door to the verification of larger control systems that make use of neural network components. However, although work has managed to incorporate the results of these verifiers to prove larger properties of individual systems, there is currently no general methodology for bridging the gap between verifiers and interactive theorem provers (ITPs). In this paper we present Vehicle, our solution to this problem. Vehicle is equipped with an expressive domain specific language for stating neural network specifications which can be compiled to both verifiers and ITPs. It overcomes previous issues with maintainability and scalability in similar ITP formalisations by using a standard ONNX file as the single canonical representation of the network. We demonstrate its utility by using it to connect the neural network verifier Marabou to Agda and then formally verifying that a car steered by a neural network never leaves the road, even in the face of an unpredictable cross wind and imperfect sensors. The network has over 20,000 nodes, and therefore this proof represents an improvement of 3 orders of magnitude over prior proofs about neural network enhanced systems in ITPs. © 2022, CC BY.

Selection of insulation material and determination of its thickness are the two most important parameters that prevent heat loss. Too much thickness complicates the price and use. The low coefficient of thermal conductivity of the insulation material reduces heat loss and increases the cost. One of the most important factors when determining the material thickness and conductivity coefficient is the price. In this study, two cases were examined under certain conditions, independent of the price. In the first case, the insulation material is determined, whereas the material thickness is determined in the second case. Six different current metaheuristic algorithms were used to calculate the two cases. It has been observed that harris hawks optimization (HHO), salp swarm optimization (SSO), and whale optimization (WO) algorithms determine the global optimum point without any error in determining the targets of the problem while the processing times were short. Overall, it has been seen that all six algorithms can create solutions to heat transfer problems with very low errors. © 2022 IEEE.

Chronic back pain can present a serious health concern, with symptoms that can significantly affect an individual's well-being, mobility, and overall quality of life over an extended period. While chronic back pain may manifest suddenly in some cases, it often develops gradually and persists for weeks, and in untreated cases, it can linger for years. Hence, the utilization of assistive devices such as wearable posture-monitoring vests can offer valuable assistance and guidance to users. This research paper is dedicated to the development of a system for detecting, diagnosing, and correcting poor posture, specifically leaning posture. The vest is designed to provide users with visual, auditory, and tactile cues to help them address this issue, thereby reducing the risk associated with leaning. Additionally, an integrated electrical box has been designed to consolidate all components directly onto the main board in a secure enclosure. This box also displays the daily count of instances where the user has leaned. This system is characterized by its electrical safety, portability, compactness, comfort, and affordability. A comprehensive analysis of the system's performance has been conducted with a meticulous evaluation of accuracy. Each component of the system has undergone successful testing, and the system as a whole is currently in the testing phase. The results of these tests have indicated a lack of faulty errors and have demonstrated outstanding accuracy and detection rates. Over 100 individuals of varying ages, genders, and BMI categories were involved in testing, with each person wearing the device for an average of six hours. The accuracy rate achieved was 98.85%, with an average of 54.35 instances of poor posture detected per participant. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of low- and no-code modeling tools is today an established way in practice to give non- programmers an opportunity to master their digital challenges independently, using the means of model- driven software development. However, the existing tools are limited to a very small number of different domains such as mobile app development, which can be attributed to the enormous demands that a user has on such a tool today. These demands exceed the mere use of a modeling environment as such and require crosscutting concerns such as: easy access, direct usability and simultaneous collaboration, which result in additional effort in the realization of such tools. Our solution is based on the idea to support and simplify the creation of new domain-specific holistic tools by generating it entirely based on a declarative specification with a domain-specific meta-tool. The meta-tool Pyro demonstrated and analyzed here focuses on graph-based graphical languages to fully generate a complete, directly executable tool starting from a meta-model in order to meet all cross-cutting requirements. Heterogeneous network (HetNet) is an attractive solution for future cellular networks with high data rate and coverage requirements. In HetNets, small cells such as micro cells, pico cells, femto cells and relay node (RN) are added to the network of macro cells in the same region. A large number of low power RNs produces new cell edges with significant intra-cell and inter-cell interferences. In the uplink (UL) scenarios of time-division based HetNets with RN, the user equipment (UE) desired signal may be interfered by the transmissions of the co-channel UEs during the first time slot and by the transmissions of the co-channel UEs or RNs during the second time slot. The interference caused by the RNs may significantly degrade the UE signal. UL transmission power control (PC) is essential for mitigating interference and, as a result, enhancing the cell edge and overall system performance. This research proposes a PC algorithm in order to mitigate the UL interference in 5g relay-based HetNets. This research also investigates the UL performance of HetNets when PC is applied at the RNs. Simulation results indicate that UL PC at the RNs greatly reduces average interference and improves average UL signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and average UL end-to-end throughput compared to the situation in which UL PC is not implemented. © 2022 IEEE.

Brain tumors are regarded as one of the most lethal, devastating, and aggressive diseases, significantly reducing the life expectancy of affected individuals. For this reason, in pursuit of advancing brain tumor diagnostics, this study introduces a significant enhancement to the YOLOv5m model by integrating an Enhanced Spatial Attention (ESA) layer, tailored specifically for the analysis of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans. Traditional brain tumor detection methods, heavily reliant on expert interpretation of MRI, are fraught with challenges such as high variability and the risk of human error. Our innovative approach leverages the ESA layer to acutely focus on salient features, significantly improving the method ability to differentiate between common classes of brain tumors—meningioma, pituitary, and glioma tumors. By processing spatial features with enhanced precision, the model minimizes false positives and maximizes detection reliability. Validated against a comprehensive dataset of 3064 T1-weighted contrast-enhanced MRI images from 233 patients, our modified YOLOv5m architecture demonstrates superior performance metrics compared to the standard model, highlighting its potential as a robust tool in clinical applications for automated and precise brain tumor diagnosis. © 2025 The Authors
