With the ongoing shift from fossil fuels towards electric mobility, there’s an increasing need for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, both private and public. With this increasing role of charging infrastructure in day-to-day life, safety and security should be guaranteed for these systems. In this work we report on the development of an integrated electronic charging infrastructure system. The development was based on both current functional safety and charging infrastructure standards. The whole development process is presented, including requirements analysis, overall system design, safety hardware and software design, as well as the verification & validation of the safety system against the requirements set in the beginning. The presented work can be used as a basis and reference for the functional safety aspects when developing next generation charging infrastructure systems. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The process of unsteady flow of a single-phase liquid in a cylindrical reservoir arising under the elastic mode of reservoir development is considered. To describe this process, a power law of filtration is proposed for a single-phase flow in a porous medium. Within the framework of the proposed model, the task of identifying one parameter of the model characterizing the simulated reservoir system is set. To construct a discrete analog of the inverse problem, the finite difference method is used using an explicit-implicit approximation in time. To solve the resulting system of nonlinear equations, a special representation is proposed that allows reducing the nonlinear system to two independent systems of linear equations. As a result, an explicit formula is obtained for determining the approximate value of the desired reservoir parameter. Based on the proposed method, numerical experiments were carried out for model problems. © 2023 IEEE.

Ensuring the safety of human workers collaborating with industrial robots is paramount. This research work presents a novel approach by developing a safety-related intruder detection system for the operational zones of industrial robots, following the IEC 61508 standard and adopting the related redundant architecture. The hardware integrates light curtains and radar sensors in a dual-layer configuration, while the software utilizes a safety system-on-chip to implement real-time diagnostics and fault tolerance. Protecting employees and ensuring a smooth and safe work environment are significant concerns for all companies. As a result, numerous standards and regulations have been established to provide safe collaboration between humans and machines. However, despite these measures, accidents continue to occur, resulting in varying degrees of injuries. The proposed system is depicted through a comprehensive schematic, emphasizing the integration of safety measures within the robotic environment. The detailed prototype demonstrates practical application, show-casing the system's ability to detect intrusions, initiate emergency responses, and transition to fail-safe states during component failures. This research work advances safety protocols in human-robot collaboration within industrial settings, fostering a safe working environment through a well-defined safety framework.

Incorporating Deep Learning into the Diagnosis of Banana Leaf Spot Diseases for the Protection of Banana Crops

Banana crops play a pivotal role in securing global food supplies and supporting economic stability. However, they are confronted with significant challenges stemming from a variety of diseases that not only diminish yields but also compromise the quality of the fruit. Artificial intelligence, especially deep learning, assumes a pivotal role in tackling this challenge by leveraging advanced algorithms and data analysis techniques to enhance disease detection and diagnosis in banana crops, thus contributing significantly to their protection and preservation. To address this challenge, we present the "Banana Leaf Spot Diseases (BananaLSD) Dataset," comprising images of major banana leaf spot diseases and healthy leaves, meticulously labeled by plant pathologists. Using deep learning models, including DenseNet-201, EfficientNet-b0, and VGG16, we achieved remarkable disease classification accuracy rates. DenseNet-201 achieved an impressive 98.12% accuracy. The study analyses by the performance metrics and visualizing by grad-cam technique. These results underscore the potential of deep learning for precise banana leaf disease diagnosis, offering significant implications for crop preservation, economic stability, and global food security. © 2024, The Authors. A growing number of human-centric tasks like learning, planning, and creative writing require the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the current era of exponential advancements. Such systems collect and analyze data on their own making the best use of available resources and providing creative solutions for challenging issues. The impact of AI on productivity, data analysis, flexibility, and real-time decision- making in a variety of fields is examined in this paper. Focusing on academic settings, the paper considers ethical concerns surrounding AI-generated content. According to a survey, even though many students use ChatGPT for writing and research, worries about academic integrity and plagiarism still exist. © 2024 IEEE.

A new approach with blockchain based for safe communication in IoT ecosystem

The security of circulating and processed data on digital platforms reveals new security needs. In this study, a model is proposed that the transaction records of the devices and the data obtained from the sensors on a designed internet of thing network they cannot be tampered with blockhain technology. In proposed model, by making the necessary settings of the operating system installed on the Raspberry Pi 3 and writing additional services to the operating system, the Raspberry Pi 3 has been turned into access point devices. In this way, internet of thing network was established by offering internet access service to clients who will be members of internet of thing network. Records of the transactions that take place on the internet of thing network are stored in the Raspberry Pi 3 by converting them into a blockchain structure. In addition, the raw data was sent to a server with hyperledger fabric installed on it. A blockchain software using hyperledger fabric framework running on the server was realized. This software is configured to convert motion records of devices that are members of the internet of thing network to be sent to it into a blockchain structure. Thanks to the hyperledger fabric framework, which has a distributed structure, the loss of data and the risk of modification given by the ledger structure are eliminated. The security and storage of data about the operations of all internet of thing devices operating on internet of thing network established with this created system are maximized. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.

In this communication, an improved MIMO antenna array with defected ground structure (DGS) is designed for 5G wireless applications. Its schematic comprises eight radiator elements, situated at the center of an FR-4 printed circuit board. For optimizing the mutual coupling features, the metamaterial rectangular slots are employed between adjacent elements. Extensive simulation results prove that our proposed design 4x4 MIMO array operated at 5.8 GHz offers significantly better performance in terms of antenna gain and envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) with 6 dB and less than 0.0009 respectively. Rendering to the reached outcomes, the proposed MIMO antenna is an efficient application-oriented design for 5G communication. © 2023 IEEE.

Logistic Regression (LR) is a widely used statistical model for classification problems. However, its training and evaluation in a shared environment increase the possibility of information leaking. A federated LR reduces security issues by using only locally available data for training. In a Federated Learning (FL) environment, LR receives the coefficients of local models to create the federated LR model, which is then distributed to update the local models. The exchange process does not leak confidential information when LR coefficients are encrypted. Homomorphic Encryption (HE) allows the merging of local LR models with privacy preservation (HE-LR). This work presents a novel training policy to reduce the training time with only slightly decreased quality in an FL environment with HE. We analyze the accuracy and time of FL policies with HE-LR that progressively reduce the amount of training data and exchange the LR coefficients in a privacy-preserving manner. The results show that the proposed policy can speed up the training time between 12% and 69%, compared to the traditional FL approach, with an average decrease in accuracy of 1.79% and 1.95%. ©2024 IEEE.

In this study, we introduce the Sheffer stroke L-algebra and prove some fundamental theorems, propositions and lemmas of Sheffer Stroke L-algebras. The notions of filter and ultrafilter for Sheffer stroke L-algebra are studied. We give subalgebra and normal subset definitions of a Sheffer stroke L-algebras. Moreover, a homomorphism between Sheffer stroke L-algebras is introduced and isomorphism theorems are presented. Finally, we give three new algorithms for Sheffer stroke L-algebras. Thus, it is contributed to researchers on different application areas by presenting an algorithmic approach on this subject, for the first time in the literature. © The Author(s) 2024.

The article presents the history of the development of sports programming as a sport in Russia. The main stages of the formation of the legislative basis for this sport are given. The rationale and description of the process of training athletes in higher education institutions are given - possible traj ectories in the disciplines of 'algorithmic programming' and 'product programming', the influence of the development of sports programming on improving the quality of IT education. As an example, the organization of training students in the discipline of 'algorithmic programming' at the Lipetsk State Technical University is given. The activities of the Lipetsk regional branch of the All- Russian Sports Federation to popularize this sport including among students are also described. © 2024 IEEE.
