Dynamic multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling problem (DMRCPSP) is crucial for effectively managing complex projects where activities have multiple options of resource demand and durations are uncertain. Efficient solutions to this problem are vital for industrial applications, where optimal scheduling can significantly impact project costs and timelines. Genetic programming hyper-heuristic (GPHH) has been applied to evolve effective scheduling heuristics to make real-time decisions. However, current decision-making procedures for solving DMRCPSP primarily generate non-delay schedules, which are often suboptimal. This paper proposes two new decision-making procedures to generate (semi-)active schedules. The core idea is to expand the decision set and allow activities that cannot immediately start to reserve resources for future execution. We further developed GPHH to evolve scheduling heuristics based on these procedures and a comparison was conducted with existing decision-making procedures. The results demonstrated that the proposed GP approaches managed to evolve rules that generate more effective (semi-)active schedules than the best-known non-delayed schedules in real-time. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

This multi-center randomized controlled trial explores the therapeutic benefits of Indian classical music, specifically “Raga Therapy,” for managing diabetes, thyroid disorders, and hypertension—prevalent global health issues. The study examines how specific Ragas can enhance traditional treatments: Bhimpalas and Chhanayat for hypertension, Malkauns and Bhupal Todi for diabetes, and Shyam Kalyan and Yaman for thyroid disorders. Results show significant health improvements in patients integrating Raga Therapy into their care, highlighting its holistic benefits. The study underscores the profound connection between music and healing, positioning Indian classical music as a valuable complementary therapy. By addressing a critical gap in the literature, it advocates for further research to understand the mechanisms involved and refine Raga selection for optimal therapeutic outcomes. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

The pandemic creates a more complicated providence of medical assistance and diagnosis procedures. In the world, Covid-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS Cov-2), and plague are widely known pandemic disease desperations. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic tragedies, various medical diagnosis models and intelligent computing solutions are proposed for medical applications. In this era of computer-based medical environment, conventional clinical solutions are surpassed by many Machine Learning and Deep Learning-based COVID-19 diagnosis models. Anyhow, many existing models are developing lab-based diagnosis environments. Notably, the Gated Recurrent Unit-based Respiratory data Analysis (GRU-RE), Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Covid data Analysis (Thermal Images) (I-UVAC), and Convolutional Neural Network-based computer Tomography Image Analysis (CNN-CT) are enriched with lightweight image data analysis techniques for obtaining mass pandemic data at real-time conditions. However, the existing models directly deal with bulk images (thermal data and respiratory data) to diagnose the symptoms of COVID-19. Against these works, the proposed spectacle thermal image data analysis model creates an easy and effective way of disease diagnosis deployment strategies. Particularly, the mass detection of disease symptoms needs a more lightweight equipment setup. In this proposed model, each patient's thermal data is collected via the spectacles of medical staff, and the data are analyzed with the help of a complex set of capsule network functions. Comparatively, the conventional capsule network functions are enriched in this proposed model using adequate sampling and data reduction solutions. In this way, the proposed model works effectively for mass thermal data diagnosis applications. Chronic diseases like chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes, heart disease (HD) and cancer are the important causes of mortality globally. The diagnosis of Heart-related diseases with a variety of symptoms or characteristics is incredibly complex. Internet of Things (loT) embedded solution has improved with the increase in smart wearable devices. However, people who undergo heart attacks unexpectedly have poor survival rates. As a result, an Internet of Things based Multi-Perceptron Q-Network (MQN)-based monitoring program is suggested for cardiac patients to assist in identifying heart disease and administering medication appropriately. The technology based on MQN is used to securely encrypt this sensor data before sending it to the cloud. The encrypted and decrypted data is eventually done and MQN classifier is used to complete the classification process. The two categories of data that make up the classified outcomes are i) regular and ii) irregular. It indicates the individual's cardiac status, and if the results are peculiar, the doctor is notified via text so that the patient can receive treatment. When compared to current algorithms, the MQN for HD diagnosis exhibits better enhancement in the estimated investigational results. Furthermore, when contrasted against the current MQN, the introduced Multi-layered Perceptron (MLP) system facilitates safe data transmission yields the maximum security level of 96%, and is accomplished in the shortest amount of time for both decryption and encryption. © 2025 IEEE.

Since the advent of smartphones, capturing images has become deeply embedded in human behavior, evolving into a fundamental part of daily life. Research into human perception of image quality is crucial as people frequently acquire and interpret images. Automation in image processing systems is vital for quantifying image quality, addressing issues like blurriness, noise, and compression that can significantly degrade the visual experience. While image processing professionals can quickly identify such distortions, integrating human visual perception into automated system design remains challenging. Consequently, machine-based evaluation of image quality is a critical research area. Image quality assessment algorithms aim to approximate human visual judgments. Although deep learning has shown remarkable success in various real-world tasks, such as object detection and image classification, its application in image quality assessment is still evolving. The primary challenge is assessing image quality without explicitly considering human perception, making it a dynamic area of ongoing research. A significant hurdle is the lack of images with quality scores, particularly differential average feedback scores provided by image quality experts on a 1-100 scale. This limitation hinders the development of robust models for image quality assessment, highlighting the need for innovative solutions in this evolving research domain. © 2024 IEEE.

In the recent past, cancer is designated as the life threatening disease causing significant deaths across the globe. Countries are putting efforts for early stage cancer detection, and mortality prediction. Machine Learning (ML) models are proven to efficiently find the correlation among the features for robust predictions over statistical approaches. In this paper, we used kaggle dataset that includes 569 cancer cells and around 30 features cancer cells' classification. The proposed study employs ML models (e.g., binary classifiers) for effective predictive analytics. The evaluation results indicate that Random Forest achieves better results with Area Under Curve (AUC) of 0.99 followed by Decision tree with AUC be 0.92. However, the Logistic Regression (LR) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) fails to capture the generalized behavior of the cancer data for predictive analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

ViGT: proposal-free video grounding with a learnable token in the transformer

The video grounding(VG) task aims to locate the queried action or event in an untrimmed video based on rich linguistic descriptions. Existing proposal-free methods are trapped in the complex interaction between video and query, overemphasizing cross-modal feature fusion and feature correlation for VG. In this paper, we propose a novel boundary regression paradigm that performs regression token learning in a transformer. Particularly, we present a simple but effective proposal-free framework, namely video grounding transformer(ViGT), which predicts the temporal boundary using a learnable regression token rather than multi-modal or cross-modal features. In ViGT, the benefits of a learnable token are manifested as follows.(1) The token is unrelated to the video or the query and avoids data bias toward the original video and query.(2) The token simultaneously performs global context aggregation from video and query ***, we employed a sharing feature encoder to project both video and query into a joint feature space before performing cross-modal co-attention(i.e., video-to-query attention and query-to-video attention) to highlight discriminative features in each modality. Furthermore, we concatenated a learnable regression token [REG] with the video and query features as the input of a vision-language transformer. Finally, we utilized the token [REG] to predict the target moment and visual features to constrain the foreground and background probabilities at each timestamp. The proposed ViGT performed well on three public datasets:ANet-Captions, TACoS, and YouCookⅡ. Extensive ablation studies and qualitative analysis further validated the interpretability of ViGT.

Colored Petri Nets (CPNs) provide descriptions of the concurrent behaviors for software and hardware. Model checking based on CPNs is an effective method to simulate and verify the concurrent behavior in system design. However, the model checking method traverses the full state space, which suffers from the state space explosion problem. A reduced state space generation method related to the property of concurrent systems is proposed. Specifically, we extend CPNs to define a property-related model (CPN-PR) and give a property-related analysis method whose results can be used to generate the CPN-PR model. A reduced state space generation method is developed based on enabled binding element filtering rules. The stutter trace equivalence between the state spaces of CPN and CPN-PR has been proven by showing that the reduced state space may not change the model checking result. A comparison experiment is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. © 1982-2012 IEEE.
