Deep learning has recently become a viable approach for classifying Alzheimer's disease(AD)in medical ***,existing models struggle to efficiently extract features from medical images and may squander additional information resources for illness *** address these issues,a deep three‐dimensional convolutional neural network incorporating multi‐task learning and attention mechanisms is *** upgraded primary C3D network is utilised to create rougher low‐level feature *** introduces a new convolution block that focuses on the structural aspects of the magnetORCID:ic resonance imaging image and another block that extracts attention weights unique to certain pixel positions in the feature map and multiplies them with the feature map ***,several fully connected layers are used to achieve multi‐task learning,generating three outputs,including the primary classification *** other two outputs employ backpropagation during training to improve the primary classification *** findings show that the authors’proposed method outperforms current approaches for classifying AD,achieving enhanced classification accuracy and other in-dicators on the Alzheimer's disease Neuroimaging Initiative *** authors demonstrate promise for future disease classification studies.

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) offers low-latency and high-bandwidth support for Internet-of-Vehicles (IoV) applications. However, due to high vehicle mobility and finite communication coverage of base stations, it is hard to maintain uninterrupted and high-quality services without proper service migration among MEC servers. Existing solutions commonly rely on prior knowledge and rarely consider efficient resource allocation during the service migration process, making it hard to reach optimal performance in dynamic IoV environments. To address these important challenges, we propose SR-CL, a novel mobility-aware seamless Service migration and Resource allocation framework via Convex-optimization-enabled deep reinforcement Learning in multi-edge IoV systems. First, we decouple the Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP) problem of service migration and resource allocation into two sub-problems. Next, we design a new actor-critic-based asynchronous-update deep reinforcement learning method to handle service migration, where the delayed-update actor makes migration decisions and the one-step-update critic evaluates the decisions to guide the policy update. Notably, we theoretically derive the optimal resource allocation with convex optimization for each MEC server, thereby further improving system performance. Using the real-world datasets of vehicle trajectories and testbed, extensive experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed SR-CL. Compared to benchmark methods, the SR-CL achieves superior convergence and delay performance under various scenarios. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper examines the integration and comparative effectiveness of Retriever-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and prompt engineering in the development of advanced chatbots. By employing domain-specific fine-tuning, the study addresses contextual misunderstandings and inaccuracies prevalent in base Large Language Models (LLMs). RAG enhances chatbot functionality by incorporating real-time data retrieval, ensuring relevance in dynamically changing environments. Prompt engineering is utilized to refine input prompts, thereby optimizing the accuracy of responses. Employing the 'openassistant-guanaco' dataset from Hugging Face, this research assesses the performance improvements offered by these methodologies, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The fine-tuned model outperforms other methods with an accuracy of 87.8 % and a BLEU score of 0.81, proving its effectiveness in generating the most relevant responses. In contrast, while the RAG with LLM approach shows promising results with a reasonable accuracy of 84.5 %, the Prompt engineering method, though slightly less effective with an accuracy of 83.2 %, still maintains competitive performance. This study highlights the unique and combined strengths of these technologies, contributing valuable insights into their synergistic potential for enhancing chatbot interactions © 2024 IEEE.

Amid the rise of mobile technologies and Location-Based Social Networks (LBSNs), there’s an escalating demand for personalized Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendations. Especially pivotal in smart cities, these systems aim to enhance user experiences by offering location recommendations tailored to past check-ins and visited POIs. Distinguishing itself from traditional POI recommendations, the next POI approach emphasizes predicting the immediate subsequent location, factoring in both geographical attributes and temporal patterns. This approach, while promising, faces with challenges like capturing evolving user preferences and navigating data biases. The introduction of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) brings forth a transformative solution, particularly in their ability to capture high-order dependencies between POIs, understanding deeper relationships and patterns beyond immediate connections. This survey presents a comprehensive exploration of GNN-based next POI recommendation approaches, delving into their unique characteristics, inherent challenges, and potential avenues for future research. © The Author(s) 2024.

The imperative need to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of solar energy systems inspired the development of a novel method for solar panel defect identification. As solar panels increasingly become a significant contributor to the global energy grid, it becomes crucial to address the challenges associated with their maintenance and performance optimization. Issues such as reduced efficiency due to external factors like weather, shading, and debris, as well as internal faults within the panels themselves, underscored the necessity for a more effective and reliable defect identification system. Additionally, the growing demand for clean and sustainable energy sources further emphasized the importance of maximizing the potential of solar power generation through improved maintenance practices. Therefore, the need to overcome the limitations of conventional detection techniques and enhance the reliability of solar energy production served as the primary inspiration for developing the novel method for solar panel defect identification. This research introduces an innovative approach utilizing the Visual Geometry Group (VGG16) Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model, renowned for its efficacy in computer vision tasks. By critically reviewing existing literature and methodologies, and leveraging machine learning and deep learning techniques, the study demonstrates the potential of deep learning models like VGG16 to significantly improve solar panel fault detection accuracy to 99% during training and 90% during validation indicating its effectiveness in addressing critical challenges in solar panel maintenance and performance optimization. © 2024 IEEE.

Melanoma is a skin disease with high mortality rate while earlydiagnoses of the disease can increase the survival chances of patients. Itis challenging to automatically diagnose melanoma from dermoscopic skinsamples. computer-Aided Diagnostic (CAD) tool saves time and effort indiagnosing melanoma compared to existing medical approaches. In this background,there is a need exists to design an automated classification modelfor melanoma that can utilize deep and rich feature datasets of an imagefor disease classification. The current study develops an Intelligent ArithmeticOptimization with Ensemble Deep Transfer Learning Based MelanomaClassification (IAOEDTT-MC) model. The proposed IAOEDTT-MC modelfocuses on identification and classification of melanoma from dermoscopicimages. To accomplish this, IAOEDTT-MC model applies image preprocessingat the initial stage in which Gabor Filtering (GF) technique is *** addition, U-Net segmentation approach is employed to segment the lesionregions in dermoscopic images. Besides, an ensemble of DL models includingResNet50 and ElasticNet models is applied in this study. Moreover, AOalgorithm with Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) method is utilized for identificationand classification of melanoma. The proposed IAOEDTT-MC methodwas experimentally validated with the help of benchmark datasets and theproposed model attained maximum accuracy of 92.09% on ISIC 2017 dataset.

Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are vast repositories of trending global news. They generate an enormous amount of data, offering a valuable resource for both academic researchers and IT marketing teams. These data can be harnessed for various insights and applications. A prominent and pressing research area within this data is the detection of sarcasm and fake news. The internet is rife with misleading and false information, often causing widespread confusion. Current research primarily categorizes news as either real or fake, using machine learning algorithms. However, this binary approach struggles with news that is partially true yet contains elements that could be deemed fake. To address this issue, our work introduces a real-time framework for sarcasm detection, utilizing an innovative deep learning technique called Tensor-DNN-50 for multiclass classification. The TDNN-50 model not only classifies news articles based on authenticity but also quantifies the level of sarcasm within them. Comparative analysis against leading techniques like SVM, att-RNN, and EANN demonstrates the superiority of our proposed algorithm. It achieves an impressive accuracy of 96.4% for two-class classification, 94.32% for four-class classification, and an astonishing 99.1% for seven-class classification. These results underscore the potential of our Tensor-DNN-50 Model in effectively addressing the intricate challenges of sarcasm detection and news classification with unparalleled accuracy across multiple classes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The first section of the article gives a summary of the main characteristics of 5G technology, highlighting how it has the potential to completely change how Internet of Things devices interact and communicate. Real-time data transfer is made possible by 5G networks far lower latency and higher capacity, which open up possibilities for faster and smooth interactions between IoT *** report also explores how 5G may affect how much electricity Internet of Things devices use. 5G has the ability to solve a long-standing issue in the IoT ecosystem by extending the life of the batteries of IoT devices with the adoption of cost-effective communication protocols and increased network efficiency. Recently,object detection based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs)has developed *** backbone networks for basic feature extraction are an important component of the whole detection ***,we present a new feature extraction strategy in this paper,which name is *** this strategy,we design:1)a sandwich attention feature fusion module(SAFF module).Its purpose is to enhance the semantic information of shallow features and resolution of deep features,which is beneficial to small object detection after feature fusion.2)to add a new stage called D-block to alleviate the disadvantages of decreasing spatial resolution when the pooling layer increases the receptive *** method proposed in the new stage replaces the original method of obtaining the P6 feature map and uses the result as the input of the regional proposal network(RPN).In the experimental phase,we use the new strategy to extract *** experiment takes the public dataset of Microsoft Common Objects in Context(MS COCO)object detection and the dataset of Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)image classification as the experimental object *** results show that the average recognition accuracy of COVID-19 in the classification dataset is improved to 98.163%,and small object detection in object detection tasks is improved by 4.0%.
