Mobile devices within Fifth Generation(5G)networks,typically equipped with Android systems,serve as a bridge to connect digital gadgets such as global positioning system,mobile devices,and wireless routers,which are vital in facilitating end-user communication ***,the security of Android systems has been challenged by the sensitive data involved,leading to vulnerabilities in mobile devices used in 5G *** vulnerabilities expose mobile devices to cyber-attacks,primarily resulting from security ***-permission apps in Android can exploit these channels to access sensitive information,including user identities,login credentials,and geolocation *** such attack leverages"zero-permission"sensors like accelerometers and gyroscopes,enabling attackers to gather information about the smartphone's *** underscores the importance of fortifying mobile devices against potential future *** research focuses on a new recurrent neural network prediction model,which has proved highly effective for detecting side-channel attacks in mobile devices in 5G *** conducted state-of-the-art comparative studies to validate our experimental *** results demonstrate that even a small amount of training data can accurately recognize 37.5％of previously unseen user-typed ***,our tap detection mechanism achieves a 92％accuracy rate,a crucial factor for text *** findings have significant practical implications,as they reinforce mobile device security in 5G networks,enhancing user privacy,and data protection.

Occurrence of crimes has been on the constant rise despite the emerging discoveries and advancements in the technological field in the past *** of the most tedious tasks is to track a suspect once a crime is *** most of the crimes are committed by individuals who have a history of felonies,it is essential for a monitoring system that does not just detect the person’s face who has committed the crime,but also their ***,a smart criminal detection and identification system that makes use of the OpenCV Deep Neural Network(DNN)model which employs a Single Shot Multibox Detector for detection of face and an auto-encoder model in which the encoder part is used for matching the captured facial images with the criminals has been *** detection and extraction of the face in the image by face cropping,the captured face is then compared with the images in the *** comparison is performed by calculating the similarity value between each pair of images that are obtained by using the Cosine Similarity *** plotting the values in a graph to find the threshold value,we conclude that the confidence rate of the encoder model is 0.75 and above.

State and parameter identification of linearized water wave equation via adjoint method

In this paper, we focus on the state and parameter identification problem of a hydrodynamical system. This system is modeled as a linearized water wave equation(LWWE), a hyperbolic state-space model coupled with a Laplace equation. We assume that the wave elevation at two distinct points is the only measurement of water waves. We show that the state and water depth can be reconstructed from this point measurement records. The identification problem is recast as an optimization problem over an infinite-dimensional space. We propose the adjoint method-based identification algorithm to generate an estimated state and water depth. We then performed a numerical simulation to show the effectiveness of our designed algorithm by comparing it with existing studies.

Social computing education is gaining traction across computer science and information science disciplines, yet lacks a standardized pedagogical framework for topics to teach, as well as strategies for engaging students. This workshop aims to convene experts in CSCW to develop a cohesive framework for undergraduate and graduate social computing courses. Emphasizing ethical and cultural considerations, the workshop will explore core topics spanning sociological, psychological, technical, and design aspects of social computing. Through interactive sessions, attendees will collaboratively shape a curricular framework that is responsive to diverse country contexts and ethical imperatives. At the conclusion of the workshop, we anticipate we will publish a framework for topics and pedagogical approaches to social computing, as well as a repository of existing courses.. © 2024 Owner/Author.

Transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative games

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

Broadband single-polarization single-mode low confinement loss hollow core anti-resonant fiber with semi-elliptical nested tube

In this paper, a hollow-core anti-resonant optical fibre containing a semi-elliptical nested tube is proposed, which has the characteristics of single-polarization, large bandwidth, single-mode and low confinement loss. By optimizing the structural design, the polarization extinction ratio (PER) of the fiber reaches 21,0183 at a wavelength of 1.55 μm, and the y-polarized fundamental mode loss is only 0.00086 dB/m. By changing the material and thickness of the semi-ellipsoidal nested tube, a large bandwidth of 280 nm was achieved in the wavelength range of 1.51-1.78 μm, with loss limited to less than 0.001 dB/m within the bandwidth range. The PER and higher-order mode extinction ratio of 4870, 1487, respectively. The loss remains below 0.01 dB/m when the bending radius exceeds 4.5 cm. Therefore, it is expected that this optical fiber can be used in optical devices such as fiber optic sensors, fiber optic lasers and fiber optic gyroscopes. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

In high-risk industrial environments like nuclear power plants, precise defect identification and localization are essential for maintaining production stability and safety. However, the complexity of such a harsh environment leads to significant variations in the shape and size of the defects. To address this challenge, we propose the multivariate time series segmentation network(MSSN), which adopts a multiscale convolutional network with multi-stage and depth-separable convolutions for efficient feature extraction through variable-length templates. To tackle the classification difficulty caused by structural signal variance, MSSN employs logarithmic normalization to adjust instance distributions. Furthermore, it integrates classification with smoothing loss functions to accurately identify defect segments amid similar structural and defect signal subsequences. Our algorithm evaluated on both the Mackey-Glass dataset and industrial dataset achieves over 95% localization and demonstrates the capture capability on the synthetic dataset. In a nuclear plant's heat transfer tube dataset, it captures 90% of defect instances with75% middle localization F1 score.

Accurate recognition of flight deck operations for carrier-based aircraft, based on operation trajectories, is critical for optimizing carrier-based aircraft performance. This recognition involves understanding short-term and long-term spatial collaborative relationships among support agents and positions from long spatial–temporal trajectories. While the existing methods excel at recognizing collaborative behaviors from short trajectories, they often struggle with long spatial–temporal trajectories. To address this challenge, this paper introduces a dynamic graph method to enhance flight deck operation recognition. First, spatial–temporal collaborative relationships are modeled as a dynamic graph. Second, a discretized and compressed method is proposed to assign values to the states of this dynamic graph. To extract features that represent diverse collaborative relationships among agents and account for the duration of these relationships, a biased random walk is then conducted. Subsequently, the Swin Transformer is employed to comprehend spatial–temporal collaborative relationships, and a fully connected layer is applied to deck operation recognition. Finally, to address the scarcity of real datasets, a simulation pipeline is introduced to generate deck operations in virtual flight deck scenarios. Experimental results on the simulation dataset demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method.

Currently,applications accessing remote computing resources through cloud data centers is the main mode of operation,but this mode of operation greatly increases communication latency and reduces overall quality of service(QoS)and quality of experience(QoE).Edge computing technology extends cloud service functionality to the edge of the mobile network,closer to the task execution end,and can effectivelymitigate the communication latency ***,the massive and heterogeneous nature of servers in edge computing systems brings new challenges to task scheduling and resource management,and the booming development of artificial neural networks provides us withmore powerfulmethods to alleviate this ***,in this paper,we proposed a time series forecasting model incorporating Conv1D,LSTM and GRU for edge computing device resource scheduling,trained and tested the forecasting model using a small self-built dataset,and achieved competitive experimental results.

ViGT: proposal-free video grounding with a learnable token in the transformer

The video grounding(VG) task aims to locate the queried action or event in an untrimmed video based on rich linguistic descriptions. Existing proposal-free methods are trapped in the complex interaction between video and query, overemphasizing cross-modal feature fusion and feature correlation for VG. In this paper, we propose a novel boundary regression paradigm that performs regression token learning in a transformer. Particularly, we present a simple but effective proposal-free framework, namely video grounding transformer(ViGT), which predicts the temporal boundary using a learnable regression token rather than multi-modal or cross-modal features. In ViGT, the benefits of a learnable token are manifested as follows.(1) The token is unrelated to the video or the query and avoids data bias toward the original video and query.(2) The token simultaneously performs global context aggregation from video and query ***, we employed a sharing feature encoder to project both video and query into a joint feature space before performing cross-modal co-attention(i.e., video-to-query attention and query-to-video attention) to highlight discriminative features in each modality. Furthermore, we concatenated a learnable regression token [REG] with the video and query features as the input of a vision-language transformer. Finally, we utilized the token [REG] to predict the target moment and visual features to constrain the foreground and background probabilities at each timestamp. The proposed ViGT performed well on three public datasets:ANet-Captions, TACoS, and YouCookⅡ. Extensive ablation studies and qualitative analysis further validated the interpretability of ViGT.
