In the era of digital media, the growth of picture forgeries poses a huge threat to content validity and reliability. Previous techniques for picture forgery detection have found constraints in accuracy and scalability, forcing the creation of more robust systems. This article suggests a unique technique that merges convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and blockchain technology to address this critical issue. Leveraging a carefully curated dataset combining authentic and forged photos generated through various manipulation techniques, we trained our algorithm to detect and categorize forged content with high accuracy. Our test outcomes revealed impressive performance, with the highest achievable accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score values standing at 0.95, 0.92, 0.94, and 0.93, respectively. This method represents a considerable leap in image forgery detection and shows promise for fighting digital tampering in varied real-world applications. © 2024 ACM.

With the ever growth of Internet users,video applications,and massive data traffic across the network,there is a higher need for reliable bandwidth-efficient multimedia *** Video Coding(VVC/H.266)is finalized in September 2020 providing significantly greater compression efficiency compared to Highest Efficient Video Coding(HEVC)while providing versatile effective use for Ultra-High Definition(HD)*** article analyzes the quality performance of convolutional codes,turbo codes and self-concatenated convolutional(SCC)codes based on performance metrics for reliable future video *** advent of turbo codes was a significant achievement ever in the era of wireless communication approaching nearly the Shannon *** codes are operated by the deployment of an interleaver between two Recursive Systematic Convolutional(RSC)encoders in a parallel *** RSC encoders may be operating on the same or different architectures and code *** proposed work utilizes the latest source compression standards H.266 and H.265 encoded standards and Sphere Packing modulation aided differential Space Time Spreading(SP-DSTS)for video transmission in order to provide bandwidth-efficient wireless video ***,simulation results show that turbo codes defeat convolutional codes with an averaged E_(b)/N_(0) gain of 1.5 dB while convolutional codes outperformcompared to SCC codes with an E_(b)/N_(0) gain of 3.5 dBatBit ErrorRate(BER)of 10−*** Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR)results of convolutional codes with the latest source coding standard of H.266 is plotted against convolutional codes with H.265 and it was concluded H.266 outperform with about 6 dB PSNR gain at E_(b)/N_(0) value of 4.5 dB.

This study examines decision-making in software re-engineering within businesses, focusing on the challenges and considerations involved. Financial constraints, time, and staff efforts are critical factors in these decisions. The study identifies difficulties faced by top-level management with legacy systems, existing systems, underused systems, and packaged software due to user resistance and customer dissatisfaction. The primary goal of the study is to assess the importance of software quality factors, especially from the users' perspective, in making re-engineering decisions. It uses the ISO 9126 Model to analyze quality elements in the case study software, aiming to provide guidance for deciding whether to proceed with re-engineering. The study explores functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability as factors influencing re-engineering decisions, based on the ISO 9126 model. To understand user interactions and program performance, the study used unstructured participant observation in the case study software, highlighting the challenges faced by top management due to user resistance. These findings were further confirmed through face-to-face interviews with software users and department employees, offering insights into their perspectives on software quality elements. The results reveal that, despite some flaws, the system has valuable features and capabilities. Most employees express a desire to undergo re-engineering to enhance service quality, align with ISO 9126 standards, and leverage the expertise of competent staff for re-engineering activities. © 2023 IEEE.

Web-based applications are now the preferred approach for delivering a variety of services via the Internet. As a result of the globalization of commerce, web applications have been growing quickly and becoming increasingly complicated. Such applications have a significant security vulnerability in the online environment since they were developed with little experience and without testing or validation. Numerous attackers use this security vulnerability to take control of the program, modify the data, and steal the most crucial information. They may also access all internal, unauthorized items. This work presents a hybrid model that classifies website attacks as benign through the integration of four machine learning algorithms: gradient boost (GB), multilayer perceptron (MLP), logistic regression (LR) and K nearest neighbor (KNN). The work deployed Tree-based Pipeline Optimization Tool (TPOT) that utilizes the Genetic algorithm (GA) to extract the optimal parameter and consequently enhance the model performance. The model underwent evaluation utilizing a data set from the Canadian Institute 2023 that contains various types of attacks. Among these algorithms, GB achieved the best accuracy scores of 95%, 94% and 95% for accuracy, recall and F1-score, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

A virtual private cloud (VPC) is often comprised of a set of virtual computing, storage and network resource which is allocated from a public cloud. Public clouds build virtualized resource pools based on physical infrastructure including generic x86 servers, network devices (e.g. switches, routers, firewalls), storage servers and so forth to dynamically provision virtual computing and storage resource to customers, while virtual network is a bridge that connects all the computing resource in a VPC and segregates network traffic between different VPCs. One VPC may contain multiple subnets, which makes private virtual network should provide the capability of communications between virtual computing resources i.e. virtual machines’ communication through Layer-2 switching and Layer-3 routing simultaneously. In this paper we propose a fully distributed routing architecture (FDRA) for private virtual network to fulfill the requirements of public cloud. FDRA splits the VPC traffic into two categories, i.e. the traffic goes inside of a VPC and the traffic goes out of a VPC, and presents two different routing entities to route different traffic issued from virtual machines in a VPC. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Industrial internet of things (IIoT) is the usage of internet of things(IoT) devices and applications for the purpose of sensing, processing andcommunicating real-time events in the industrial system to reduce the unnecessary operational cost and enhance manufacturing and other industrial-relatedprocesses to attain more profits. However, such IoT based smart industriesneed internet connectivity and interoperability which makes them susceptibleto numerous cyber-attacks due to the scarcity of computational resourcesof IoT devices and communication over insecure wireless channels. Therefore, this necessitates the design of an efficient security mechanism for IIoTenvironment. In this paper, we propose a hyperelliptic curve cryptography(HECC) based IIoT Certificateless Signcryption (IIoT-CS) scheme, with theaim of improving security while lowering computational and communicationoverhead in IIoT environment. HECC with 80-bit smaller key and parameterssizes offers similar security as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) with 160-bitlong key and parameters sizes. We assessed the IIoT-CS scheme security byapplying formal and informal security evaluation techniques. We used Realor Random (RoR) model and the widely used automated validation of internet security protocols and applications (AVISPA) simulation tool for formalsecurity analysis and proved that the IIoT-CS scheme provides resistance tovarious attacks. Our proposed IIoT-CS scheme is relatively less expensivecompared to the current state-of-the-art in terms of computational cost andcommunication overhead. Furthermore, the IIoT-CS scheme is 31.25% and 51.31% more efficient in computational cost and communication overhead,respectively, compared to the most recent protocol.

The exponential surge in digital usage is resulting in a significant need for computational resources. This has led to businesses migrating to the cloud for benefits like usage of resources as a service, scalability, etc. Infrastructures supporting these businesses will need to conserve energy in the context of the ever-increasing size of the data centers and provide a highly available environment with mechanisms for business continuity, disaster recovery, etc. These would need to be supported at minimal costs while meeting the expected performance along with conformance to the SLAs. This paper considers a cost-efficient resource reservation based environment and evolves an approach to perform energy-efficient VM scheduling with migrations, while factoring in the network Overheads, having Availability as a constraint, and orchestrating the devices in terms of Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling, for optimal energy usage. Two novel algorithms are proposed: the Power and Availability Aware Best Fit Decreasing (PAABFD) allocation policy and the Power Availability Network DVFS Aware (PANDA) migration policy, when combined achieving up to 82.35% improvement in data center energy while offering an availability of 99.999% when compared with other scheduling policies. © 2021 IEEE.

Air pollution can affect human health, so it is necessary to predict the air quality index (AQI) in advance. In this work, air quality data collected by the Internet of Drone Things (IoDT) is predicted and analyzed to detect highly polluted zones using a distributed privacy-preserving federated learning (FL) approach. Air quality data for a particular zone is collected and then fed into a Long short-Term memory (LSTM) based model to predict the pollution level in local training. Global aggregation is done by an IoDT-mounted central server to aggregate the received models from the local IoDT level. Privacy-preserving FedHZone predicts and analyses the AQI values from the past time series dataset in a multi-drone environment. This work detects the most hazardous zone in a larger region of Jaipur, Rajasthan using real-Time data. The result shows FedHZone with stacked LSTM having ''2%-7% better accuracy than the vanilla LSTM-based model. © 2024 IEEE.

As large model services gain popularity; the high cost of deployment presents a challenge. Thus, focusing on improving model efficiency in high-load scenarios while managing the scheduling of multiple models. This paper introduces TSMLLM, a Task Scheduling Management System designed for optimizing the deployment of large language models (LLMs). The proposed system leverages an adaptive time window to group realtime requests, optimizing the batching process for better resource utilization. A two-step scheduling method, involving filtering and scoring, is employed to tailor task distribution based on the specific characteristics of each large model. The system’s scalable architecture supports seamless expansion to accommodate evolving model requirements. Experimental results demonstrate a significant increase in throughput with only a slight rise in response time, contributing to a reduction in overall service costs.

Facial Recognition is one of the most productive and important techniques in image processing. It uses Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence techniques to identify, collect, store, and evaluate face characteristics so that they can be matched to photos of people in a database. Nowadays, many kinds of research are focusing on human detection mainly in the context of marking students' attendance. Marking attendance is a procedure of recognizing students' faces and marking their attendance for that class. The need for this application was generated because after the pandemic use of touch biometric systems was suspended in many places and the manual process of taking attendance and maintaining paper records was a very tedious job and this could be manipulated very easily by anyone. Some attendance systems with face recognition already got developed but they were very basic and only had the feature of just recognizing the face once and marking the attendance of that student. So, by bringing in some unique features, here, developed 'Smart Captures', an advanced attendance system for universities, schools, and education-based places. Smart Captures was entitled to capturing the students' movement from the classroom (in out) and marking their attendance according to the set constraints using IoT, thereafter, making it visible to the faculties on their mobile application. This provided the data analytics for regular attendance on the dashboard to the admin with the administrative power using the application. © 2023 IEEE.
