This study investigates the optimization of healthcare accessibility and effectiveness by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) solutions within Internet of Things (IoT) systems for remote patient monitoring. Embracing a holistic approach, we deploy medical sensors, including temperature, pressure, heart rate, and oxygen sensors, to collect patients' continuous health metrics (vital signs). These sensed data are then transmitted to an Arduino controller, responsible for managing data communication with the cloud infrastructure using a Wi-Fi module that facilitates data storage and analysis. Stored data are accessed by authorized healthcare professionals, who exploit machine learning models, including Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Logistic Regression (LR) and Decision Tree (DT), to forecast patients' health outcome in advance using the sensed data. A rigorous evaluation demonstrated the IoT system's effectiveness, based on testing with sensed data from ten patients over a month, where 70% of the data were used for training the models, and the rest for testing. The proposed IoT system demonstrates the success;ANN exhibited the highest accuracy at 97.88%, followed by LR at 93.43%, and DT at 91.20%. Precision, recall, and F1 scores further validated the models' ability to predict health outcome accurately. Evaluation of the accuracy and loss curves showed the convergence of the models towards optimal performance. This study contributes to remote healthcare monitoring and provides a promising IoT paradigm for realizing ubiquitous remote monitoring, optimized healthcare effectiveness, and patient outcome through AI-enabled IoT systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Learner diversity is a matter for universities enrolling international students. Hence, learner engagement then becomes a major concern for instructors. This study uses gamification techniques to determine its impact on engagement and learning when it comes to diverse cohort of learners. A survey questionnaire method was used to identify the effect of gamification on engagement, motivation, performance, and learning. This empirical study revealed that quizzes supported by gamification enhanced engagement, performance, and learning but did not motivate learners to study outside the lecture theatre. Recent developments in the area of research on sign language recognition have led to making use of deep learning techniques with the goal to assist the self-learning transition of sign language from one language to another. In order to detect and classify characters from photographs in multiple sign languages, a number of deep-learning models, have been deployed. SLR is a prominent area of study and technology that aims to mitigate speaking barriers for individuals who unable to talk and listen. This involves the development of tools capable of understanding and deciphering sign language movements, hence facilitating a wider range of interactions for those who are difficult of listening and speaking. This paper demonstrates a novel model called CNN Inception Net, which is a neural network based on convolution. The use of an Indian sign dataset enables the achievement of a notable performance rate of 98.9%, enabling precise recognition of actions in the language of signs. © 2024 IEEE.

The objective of Multimodal Knowledge Graph Completion (MKGC) is to forecast absent entities within a knowledge graph by leveraging additional textual and visual modalities. Existing studies commonly utilize a singular relationship embedding to depict all modalities within an entity pair, thus connecting several relationships derived from diverse modalities. However, this coupling may introduce interference from conflicting information between modalities, as the relationships between modalities for a given entity pair can be contradictory. Moreover, existing Ensemble Inference methods fail to dynamically adjust modal weights based on their differences and importance, despite the varying contributions of different modalities. In this paper, we propose the Multimodal Decouple and Relation-based Ensemble inference (MDRE) model. For each modality, we construct corresponding relationship embeddings and build separate triple representations to avoid interferences among modalities. During the training phase, we employ confidence-constrained training with temperature scaling to alleviate conflicting information in textual and visual modalities. For inference, we utilize the Relation-based Ensemble Inference method to adjust modal weights at the relationship level, thus achieving improved prediction results. Experimental results on two datasets demonstrate that MDRE outperforms existing single-modal and multimodal knowledge graph completion methods in terms of performance. © 2023 IEEE.

In the big data technology nowadays, activities associated with Multi-Label Classification (MLC) pose big and complex challenges, receiving terrific interest in diverse fields. Existing MLC algorithms suffer from low overall performance. This paper considers four well-known Problem Transformation Methods (PTMs). Two of these PTMs are based on the frequency of the labels (MFL and LFL) while the last two PTMs are based on the positive correlations among labels. These PTMs have been implemented and compared against four multi label datasets of various sizes to identify the best one that fits the nature of MLC datasets. Moreover, six popular ensemble learning models have been carried out and compared on the four datasets with respect to several evaluation metrics such as Accuracy, Hamming loss, and Exact Match and using SMO, DecisionStump, Random Forest, and Random Commission classifiers. The results revealed that MFL accomplished the quality performance amongst the four PTMs, and Stacking SVM is the best ensemble learning technique. © 2024 IEEE.

Improvements in patient care and early disease detection possibilities are two of the ways artificial intelligence is transforming the healthcare industry. Alzheimer's disease, a neurodegenerative disease that worsens with time, is among the most difficult diseases to exactly identify in early stages. Patients thus delay in treatment and experience a decline in their quality of life. Research is still under progress, thus knowledge about how AI-driven prediction models could be combined with readily available healthcare services remains lacking. This work presents a special artificial intelligence-powered system consisting of DenseNet-based deep learning for Alzheimer's disease prediction with an online consultation platform. The proposed approach analyzes brain MRI data and classifies Alzheimer's stages with higher accuracy using a DenseNet architecture, well-known for its exceptional performance in the field of feature extraction. Comprising three thousand magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images, the dataset has been preprocessed for noise reduction and tuned for models performance. At 98.5%, the DenseNet model exceeded other methods including VGGNet and ResNet in accuracy. © 2025 IEEE.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are wireless networks containing a collection of wireless nodes interrelated with multi-hop communication paths. Mobile nodes can freely create and dynamically self-organize random and temporary wireless networks without pre-existing infrastructure. Hence, the transmission connection between two nodes breaks repeatedly due to node mobility. This causes an additional delay in the network's performance. All mobile nodes work together entirely regarding the distribution of their memory space. In actuality, though, several nodes may inconsiderately choose to cooperate partially;otherwise, not at all with other nodes. These selfish nodes minimize the whole data's accessibility. To solve these issues, quality-of-service-based self-node detection (QSND) in MANET is proposed. In this approach, the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters verifies the operation of a node. This approach uses the QoS parameters like packet loss ratio, packet delay ratio, and remaining energy ratio as the most significant components to evaluate the selfish nodes in the MANET. This approach minimized the delay and improved the network throughput. © 2023 IEEE.

Program synthesis refers to the task of solving a specific problem by automatically generating a computer program. It has received considerable attention from artificial intelligence and programming language communities. Over time, software codes and group wisdom have been accumulated on the internet. Simultaneously, artificial intelligence, such as deep learning, has obtained promising achievements in numerous fields, which has motivated researchers to address the problem of automatic program generation by considering both software engineering and intelligent technology. The key challenges in the field of program synthesis mainly consist of the huge search space of the programs and the ambiguity of user intent. In this study, we analyze program synthesis techniques according to their user intent description, focus on the impact of new technologies on program synthesis, such as data-driven and artificial intelligence, and summarize the pruning methods of program space and search technologies. Further, we discuss the existing challenges in program synthesis technology and present suggestions for further studies in this field. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.
