Brain signal analysis from electroencephalogram(EEG)recordings is the gold standard for diagnosing various neural disorders especially epileptic *** signals are highly chaotic compared to normal brain signals and thus can be identified from EEG *** the current seizure detection and classification landscape,most models primarily focus on binary classification—distinguishing between seizure and non-seizure *** effective for basic detection,these models fail to address the nuanced stages of seizures and the intervals between *** identification of per-seizure or interictal stages and the timing between seizures is crucial for an effective seizure alert *** granularity is essential for improving patient-specific interventions and developing proactive seizure management *** study addresses this gap by proposing a novel AI-based approach for seizure stage classification using a Deep Convolutional Neural Network(DCNN).The developed model goes beyond traditional binary classification by categorizing EEG recordings into three distinct classes,thus providing a more detailed analysis of seizure *** enhance the model’s performance,we have optimized the DCNN using two advanced techniques:the Stochastic Gradient Algorithm(SGA)and the evolutionary Genetic Algorithm(GA).These optimization strategies are designed to fine-tune the model’s accuracy and ***,k-fold cross-validation ensures the model’s reliability and generalizability across different data *** and validated on the Bonn EEG data sets,the proposed optimized DCNN model achieved a test accuracy of 93.2%,demonstrating its ability to accurately classify EEG *** summary,the key advancement of the present research lies in addressing the limitations of existing models by providing a more detailed seizure classification system,thus potentially enhancing the effectiveness of real-time seizure prediction and management systems in clinic

Wheat is the most important cereal crop,and its low production incurs import pressure on the *** fulfills a significant portion of the daily energy requirements of the human *** wheat disease is one of the major factors that result in low production and negatively affects the national ***,timely detection of wheat diseases is necessary for improving *** CNN-based architectures showed tremendous achievement in the image-based classification and prediction of crop ***,these models are computationally expensive and need a large amount of training *** this research,a light weighted modified CNN architecture is proposed that uses eight layers particularly,three convolutional layers,three SoftMax layers,and two flattened layers,to detect wheat diseases *** high-resolution images were collected from the fields in Azad Kashmir(Pakistan)and manually annotated by three human *** convolutional layers use 16,32,and 64 *** filter uses a 3×3 kernel *** strides for all convolutional layers are set to *** this research,three different variants of datasets are *** variants S1-70%:15%:15%,S2-75%:15%:10%,and S3-80%:10%:10%(train:validation:test)are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed *** extensive experiments revealed that the S3 performed better than S1 and S2 datasets with 93%*** experiment also concludes that a more extensive training set with high-resolution images can detect wheat diseases more accurately.

Heterologous Image Matching Based on Salience Region

To address the matching problem caused by the significant differences in spatial features, spectrum and contrast between heterologous images, a heterologous image matching method based on salience region is proposed in this paper. Firstly, texture features and corner features are detected. Secondly, the epanechnikov kernel function is used to calculate the point with the maximum kernel function value among all feature points, which is then defined as E-point. Thirdly, the salience region is defined and extracted according to the position of the E-point. Finally, six groups of heterologous images are used as data sources, and compared with HAPCG, HOWP, SIFT, and PSO_SIFT algorithms respectively. The results show that the comprehensive matching performance of the proposed method is better than the original algorithm without salience region processing. The root mean square error and the matching time are less than the original method while ensuring a similar number of matching points, which greatly improves the accuracy and speed of heterologous image matching. © (2025.0), (International Association of Engineers). Nowadays, high energy amount is being wasted by computing servers and personal electronic devices, which produce a high amount of carbon dioxide. Thus, it is required to decrease energy usage and pollution. Many applications are utilised by green computing to save energy. Scheduling of tasks acts as an important process to reach the mentioned goals. It is worth stating that the vital characteristic of task scheduling in green clouds is the load balancing of tasks on virtual machines. Efficient load balancing moves tasks from overloaded to underloaded virtual machines to maintain the Quality of Service (QoS). This issue is an NP-complete problem, so this research suggests a new technique based on the behavioural structure of artificial bee behaviour. This method aims to improve QoS while lowering energy usage in green computing. In addition, the honey bees are considered the removed tasks from overloaded virtual machines and a candidate for migrating selected tasks with the lowest priority. The CloudSim testing findings demonstrate that the technique is successful in QoS, makespan, and energy usage compared to other ways. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The fluid sampler inliSAMP is being developed for remote controlled downhole sampling in deep geothermal boreholes. inliSAMP is designed based on the system platform for downhole tools hotToolKIT. It is a follow-up development to the inliCAM. Thus, both probes are built up from modular components of the construction kit. A new sampling and storage concept is developed and realized in a functional demonstrator (sampling volume 480 cm3). The sampling process was tested and proven to work under laboratory conditions up to 90 bars. The demonstrator sampling system is remotely controlled via wireline using real time data. Temperature, pressure in different locations of the sample chamber, and electronic components are permanently monitored and recorded. In the design, most electronic components such as a highly efficient power supply, motor drivers and control units are placed inside a supply probe Dewar flask. The in-situ storage of the monophasic sample is being realized by an adaptive hydraulic and heating control system. The hydraulic components are developed for high dynamic loads and small installation spaces. Furthermore, the functional demonstrator fulfils the requirements of the design standard downhole logging tools (T = 200 °C, p = 60 MPa, harsh and corrosive fluids). Currently, the mechanic units such as the sample chamber, sensors, and hydraulic power pack are mounted on a socket in a demonstrator housing and are tested under realistic conditions on a test rig at the Karlsruhe Institute of technology (KIT) in preparation for a borehole deployment. The functional tests of the sample procedure include descent of the probe, the sample intake, maintenance of sample temperature, and dispensing at changing ambient temperatures on a test rig. The focus of the research is on temperature monitoring, control, and operation management of in situ downhole sampler. Investigating the effects of embodiment on presence and perception in remote physician video consultations: a between-participants study comparing a tablet and a telepresence robot

Increasing life expectancy and low birth rates have led to a larger aging population requiring more care, especially in rural areas. Information and communications technology may enhance older adults' quality of life and digital health services. Assistive robotic systems, especially telepresence robots, are increasingly used in healthcare. These robots represent a significantly higher embodiment level than tablets, as they can provide the remote person with an additional body. This work explores the effects of different embodiment levels in video consultation, focusing on Presence and Perception from a Human-computer Interaction (HCI) perspective. For this purpose, between-participants experiments were conducted in which 18 participants assumed the role of the patient and engaged in a video consultation with a remote, medically experienced person acting as the physician. A shortened medical check-up simulated the real assessment. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected during and after the experiment focusing on presence and interaction. Results show no significant influence of embodiment level in a video consultation from a HCI perspective. However, a trend towards more natural communication with stronger embodiment was observed, suggesting it may positively influence interaction. © 2025 the author(s), published by De Gruyter, Berlin/Boston.

Kidney disease (KD) is a gradually increasing global health concern. It is a chronic illness linked to higher rates of morbidity and mortality, a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and numerous other illnesses, and expensive medical expenses. The machine learning (ML) models are applied for KD prediction with higher accuracy and precision. The KD dataset has uncertainty and vague information, so, we used the neutrosophic set (NS) to deal with vague and uncertainty information in the KD dataset. The KD dataset is converted into the N-KD dataset with three membership functions: truth, indeterminacy, and falsity. Three ML models are used in this study such as logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). These ML models are applied to the N-KD dataset. The results show the LR has higher accuracy and precision on the N-KD dataset than the original KD dataset. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

The software development process mostly depends on accurately identifying both essential and optional ***,user needs are typically expressed in free-form language,requiring significant time and human resources to translate these into clear functional and non-functional *** address this challenge,various machine learning(ML)methods have been explored to automate the understanding of these requirements,aiming to reduce time and human ***,existing techniques often struggle with complex instructions and large-scale *** our study,we introduce an innovative approach known as the Functional and Non-functional Requirements Classifier(FNRC).By combining the traditional random forest algorithm with the Accuracy Sliding Window(ASW)technique,we develop optimal sub-ensembles that surpass the initial classifier’s accuracy while using fewer *** results demonstrate that our FNRC methodology performs robustly across different datasets,achieving a balanced Precision of 75%on the PROMISE dataset and an impressive Recall of 85%on the CCHIT *** datasets consistently maintain an F-measure around 64%,highlighting FNRC’s ability to effectively balance precision and recall in diverse *** findings contribute to more accurate and efficient software development processes,increasing the probability of achieving successful project outcomes.
