Unsupervised multiplex graph diffusion networks with multi-level canonical correlation analysis for multiplex graph representation learning

In recent years, unsupervised multiplex graph representation learning(UMGRL) has received increasing research interest, which aims to learn discriminative node features from the multiplex graphs supervised by data without the guidance of labels. Although these designed UMGRL methods have obtained great success in various graph-related tasks, most existing UMGRL models still have the following issues: highly depending on complex self-supervised strategies(i.e., data augmentation,pretext tasks, and negative pairs sampling), restricted receptive fields, and only aggregating low-frequency information between nodes. In this paper, we propose a simple unsupervised multiplex graph diffusion network(UMGDN) with the aid of multi-level canonical correlation analysis to solve the above issues. Specifically, we first decouple the feature transform and propagation processes of the graph convolution layer to further improve the generalization of the learnable parameters. And then, we propose adaptive diffusion propagation to capture long-range dependency relationships between nodes, not the local neighborhood interactions. Finally, a multi-level canonical correlation analysis loss on both the feature transform and propagation processes is proposed to maximize the correlation of the same node features from multiple graphs for guiding model optimization. Compared to the existing UMGRL models, our proposed UMGDN does not need to introduce any data augmentation, negative pairs sampling techniques, complex pretext tasks, and also adaptively aggregates the optimal frequency information between nodes to generate more robust node embeddings. Extensive experiments on four popular datasets and two graph-related tasks demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The power sector is an important factor in ensuring the development of the national *** simulation and prediction of power consumption help achieve the balance between power generation and power *** this paper,a Multi-strategy Hybrid Coati Optimizer(MCOA)is used to optimize the parameters of the three-parameter combinatorial optimization model TDGM(1,1,r,ξ,Csz)to realize the simulation and prediction of China's daily electricity ***,a novel MCOA is proposed in this paper,by making the following improvements to the Coati Optimization Algorithm(COA):(ⅰ)Introduce improved circle chaotic mapping strategy.(ⅱ)Fusing Aquila Optimizer,to enhance MCOA's exploration capabilities.(ⅲ)Adopt an adaptive optimal neighborhood jitter learning *** improve MCOA escape from local optimal solutions.(ⅳ)Incorporating Differential Evolution to enhance the diversity of the ***,the superiority of the MCOA algorithm is verified by comparing it with the newly proposed algorithm,the improved optimiza-tion algorithm,and the hybrid algorithm on the CEC2019 and CEC2020 test ***,in this paper,MCOA is used to optimize the parameters of TDGM(1,1,r,ξ,Csz),and this model is applied to forecast the daily electricity consumption in China and compared with the predictions of 14 models,including seven intelligent algorithm-optimized TDGM(1,1,r,ξ,Csz),and seven forecasting *** experimental results show that the error of the proposed method is minimized,which verifies the validity of the proposed method.

Reinforcement learning and digital twin-driven optimization of production scheduling with the digital model playground

The significance of digital technologies in the context of digitizing production processes, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Twins, is on the rise. A promising avenue of research is the optimization of digital twins through Reinforcement Learning (RL). This necessitates a simulation environment that can be integrated with RL. One is introduced in this paper as the Digital Model Playground (DMPG). The paper outlines the implementation of the DMPG, followed by demonstrating its application in optimizing production scheduling through RL within a sample process. Although there is potential for further development, the DMPG already enables the modeling and optimization of production processes using RL and is comparable to commercial discrete event simulation software regarding the simulation-speed. Furthermore, it is highly flexible and adaptable, as shown by two projects, which distribute the DMPG to a high-performance cluster or generate 2D/3D-Visualization of the simulation model with Unreal. This establishes the DMPG as a valuable tool for advancing the digital transformation of manufacturing systems, affirming its potential impact on the future of production optimization. Currently, planned extensions include the integration of more optimization algorithms and Process Mining techniques, to further enhance the usability of the framework. © The Author(s) 2024.

Distortion risk measures for tail-risk multicriteria decision-making based on a probabilistic linguistic environment

Probabilistic linguistic term sets (PLTSs) provide a flexible tool to express linguistic preferences, and several multi-criteria decision models based on PLTSs have been recently developed. In this framework, distortion risk measures are extensively used in finance and insurance applications, but are rarely applied in fuzzy systems. In this paper, distortion risk measures are applied to fuzzy tail decisions. In particular, three tail risk measurement methods are put forward, referred to as probabilistic linguistic VaR (PLVaR), expected probability linguistic VaR (EPLVaR), and Wang tail risk measure and extensively study their properties. Our novel methods help to clarify the connections between distortion risk measure and fuzzy tail decision-making. In particular, the Wang tail risk measure is characterized by consistency and stability of decision results. The criteria and expert weights are unknown or only partially known during the decision making process, and the maximising PLTSs deviations are showed how to determine them. The theoretical results are showcased on an optimal stock fund selection problem, where the three tail risk measures are compared and analyzed. © 2024 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.

The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a network that is constructed in regions that are inaccessible to human *** widespread deployment of wireless micro sensors will make it possible to conduct accurate environmental monitoring for a use in both civil and military *** make use of these data to monitor and keep track of the physical data of the surrounding environment in order to ensure the sustainability of the *** data have to be picked up by the sensor,and then sent to the sink node where they may be *** nodes of the WSNs are powered by batteries,therefore they eventually run out of *** energy restriction has an effect on the network life span and environmental *** objective of this study is to further improve the Engroove Leach(EL)protocol’s energy efficiency so that the network can operate for a very long time while consuming the least amount of *** lifespan of WSNs is being extended often using clustering and routing *** Meta Inspired Hawks Fragment Optimization(MIHFO)system,which is based on passive clustering,is used in this study to do *** cluster head is chosen based on the nodes’residual energy,distance to neighbors,distance to base station,node degree,and node *** on distance,residual energy,and node degree,an algorithm known as Heuristic Wing Antfly Optimization(HWAFO)selects the optimum path between the cluster head and Base Station(BS).They examine the number of nodes that are active,their energy consumption,and the number of data packets that the BS *** overall experimentation is carried out under the MATLAB *** the analysis,it has been discovered that the suggested approach yields noticeably superior outcomes in terms of throughput,packet delivery and drop ratio,and average energy consumption.

Globalization, industry, and population growth is considered the main reasons for climate change, so when some natural calamity or disaster occurs in any area, it leads to isolating this area from the rest of the region. Wireless ad hoc networks are important in disaster management to reduce losses and costs as they reduce the response, aiding time to save lives. However, they suffer from limited energy, which controls the lifetime of the sensor. Different methods are applied to save energy and increase battery life, such as sleep-awake schedules which assume similar initial energy for all nodes. Domestic partition in a unit disk graph is the production of the maximum possible number of such disjoint dominants. However, it assumes different initial energy levels for all nodes, which is another problem. In this paper, a new broadcast approach based on minimum set data broadcasting is proposed to mini-mize the number of broadcasting messages to increase the battery life during disasters and enhance rescue operations. The proposed minimum rebroadcast algorithm (MSRA) method balances coverage and utilization efficiency by dynamically adjusting node selection based on network conditions. The results show that MSRA significantly reduces power consumption and transmission latency, opening the way to find a new solution for disaster management using wireless ad hoc networks. © 2024 by the authors of this article.

Peer and self-assessment open opportunities to scale assessments in online classrooms. This article reports our experiences of using AsPeer-peer assessment system, with two iterations of a university online class. We observed that peer grades highly correlated with staff assigned grades. It was recorded that, the peer grade of all student submissions within range of instructor grade averaged to 21.0% and that within the next 2 ranges was 49.0%. We performed three experiments to improve accuracy of peer grading. First, we observed grading bias and introduced a data driven feedback mechanism to inform peers of it. Students aided by feedback were mindful and performed grading with better accuracy. Second, we observed that the rubric lacked efficiency in translating intent to students. Simplified guiding questions improved accuracy in assessment by 89% students. Third, we encouraged peers to provide personalized qualitative feedback along with rating. We provided them with feedback snippets that addressed common issues. 64% students responded that the snippets helped them to critically look at submissions before rating © 2023, International Journal of Emerging Technologies in *** Rights Reserved.

Clustering techniques have been instrumental in discerning patterns and relationships within datasets in data analytics and unsupervised machine learning. Traditional clustering algorithms struggle to handle real-world data analysis problems where the number of clusters is not readily identifiable. Moreover, they face challenges in determining the optimal number of clusters for high-dimensional datasets. Consequently, there is a demand for enhanced, adaptable and efficient techniques. Convex clustering, rooted in a rich mathematical framework, has steadily emerged as a pivotal alternative to traditional techniques. It amalgamates the strengths of conventional approaches while ensuring robustness and guaranteeing globally optimal solutions. This review offers an in-depth exploration of convex clustering, detailing its formulation, challenges and practical applications. It examines synthetic datasets, which serve as foundational platforms for academic exploration, emphasizing their interactions with the semi-smooth Newton augmented Lagrangian (SSNAL) algorithm. Convex clustering provides a robust theoretical foundation, but challenges, including computational limitations with expansive datasets and noise management in high-dimensional contexts, persist. Hence, the paper discusses current challenges and prospective future directions in the domain. This research aims to illuminate the potency and potential of convex clustering in modern data analytics, highlighting its robustness, flexibility and adaptability across diverse datasets and applications. © 2024 College of Education, Al-Iraqia University. Cracks are a typical disease form of airport pavement and highway pavement, mainly caused by heavy traffic load, complex external environment, and performance decay of road infrastructure. Pavement crack recognition technology is transitioning from traditional manual detection to more efficient automatic detection. In this process, semantic segmentation technology is an essential technical means and breakthrough direction to improve recognition accuracy. This paper designs an improved fully convolutional network, which is based on the traditional fully convolutional network model, but the model adopts a feature fusion strategy in downsampling to reduce the loss of details;a multi-scale fusion strategy is used in upsampling to obtain rich information under different receptive fields;Part of the ordinary convolution is replaced by dilated convolution to increase the receptive field to prevent the loss of edge details. We conducted experiments on the CrackLS315 and CrackTree260 datasets. Under the indicators of Precision, it is 8.8% and 9.2% higher than the original fully convolutional network algorithm on the CrackLS315 and CrackTree260 datasets, and it is also better than other classic algorithms. © 2023 ACM.
