The human brain's intricate functions are under-pinned by a vast network of synapses that enable chemical impulses between neurons. Neuroscientists employ two key approaches, functional and effective connectivity, to understand the brain's complexity, focusing on its operations, cognition, and behavior. While both methods utilize graph theory for network analysis, functional connectivity, which investigates associated brain activity, has seen more substantial research efforts than effective connectivity, which examines information processing's inter-regional impacts. In this research paper, we aim to present an extensive examination of the emerging discipline that combines graph theory with the analysis of brain characteristics, shedding light on how these characteristics arise from the interactions among different groups of neurons. Our primary focus lies in exploring the diverse cognitive and neurological applications that leverage functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) as a tool. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive overview of the methods employed to construct brain networks based on functional and efficient connections. Throughout the discussion, we emphasize the advantages and limitations associated with these approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

Independently tunable Fano resoances based on E-shaped cavity and its high performance sensing application

A novel nanostructure based on a simple metal-dielectric-metal(MDM)bus waveguide with sliver baffle as well as anE-shaped cavity is proposed to generate double Fano resonances arising from interference between broad continuousstate and narrow discrete *** commercial software COMSOL based on finite element methods is used to explorethe Fano resonances properties and the senor properties of the *** to the simulation results,it isdemonstrated that E-shaped cavity can generate two discrete states,and the continuous sate is constructed by loadingsliver baffle in bus ***,it can be found that the Fano peak wavelengths and profiles can easily betuned via structural ***,the independent control of the left Fano resonance(LFR)can be accomplished by changing horizontal cavity length of E-shaped ***,our proposed nanostructure has a highersensitivity of 1440 nm/RIU as well as a higher figure of merit(FOM)value approximately *** conclusion,the proposed independently tunable Fano nanostructure may have a great promising in the fields of nanosensors,filtersand other optical devices.

This paper provides the criteria and sources of information that an insurance company should consider when evaluating time series databases (TSDB) for its needs. The company wanted to select a new TSDB in order to replace InfluxDB. They started already to look at either QuestDB and Graphite, which we presented last year. The present paper now looks at two more TSDBs, namely TimescaleDB and Victoria-Metrics. Selecting a new database is an important process. Like any other successful database management system, the database selected today begins to define the legacy of the company's future. There are many different parameters that can be used by the company to evaluate the time series database alternatives, and there is no single most correct process for conducting this evaluation. Not only are there many possible pertinent evaluation criteria, but there also is typically a degree of uncertainty about the requirements and characteristics of the target application environment. This paper focuses on evaluation criteria, with emphasis on horizontal scalability and performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Entropy generation optimisation for unsteady stagnation Casson nanofluid flow over a stretching sheet with binary chemical reaction and Arrhenius activation energy using the bivariate spectral quasi-linearisation method

The heat and mass transport with Arrhenius activation energy has countless uses such as in nuclear reactors, the synthesis of chemical compounds, geothermal artificial lakes, and retrieval of thermal lubricants. The focus of this work is the analysis of Arrhenius activation energy and binary chemical reaction in a stagnation point Casson nanofluid flow over a stretching sheet. The system is subjected to a nonlinear radiation and a magnetic field. The transport equations are simplified using the Williams and Rhyne non-similar transformation. The solution to the transformed coupled system of nonlinear partial differential equations is obtained using the bivariate spectral quasi-linearisation method. Entropy generation that measures the degenerate useful energy and deprivation of the performance of engineering systems is analysed. Numerical results describing changes in the fluid velocity, temperature, concentration, entropy generation and Bejan number are presented and discussed for different fluid parameters. Activation energy parameter boosts up the solute concentration at the surface while an opposite is observed far away from the surface. The entropy generation decreases with an increase in the unsteady parameter and Casson number, while the opposite response was observed for a higher Reynolds number. Brinkman number gears up the entropy generation while it shows an opposite phenomenon for Bejan number. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The detection of cyberattacks has been increasingly emphasized in recent years, focusing on both infrastructure and people. Conventional security measures such as intrusion detection, firewalls, and encryption are insufficient in protecting cyber systems against growing and changing threats. In order to address this problem, scholars have explored reinforcement learning (i.e., RL) as a potential solution for intricate cybersecurity decision-making difficulties. Nevertheless, the use of RL faces several obstacles, including dynamic attack scenarios, insufficient training data, and the challenge of replicating real-world complexities. This study presents a novel framework that uses deep reinforcement learning (i.e., DRL) to simulate harmful cyberattacks and improve cybersecurity. This study presents an agent-based framework that is capable of ongoing learning and adaptation in a dynamic network security environment. The agent determines the optimal course of action by considering the current state of the network and the rewards it receives for its decisions. The CIC-IDS-2018 database, constructed using Python 3.7 programming, was used. The conducted studies yielded outstanding results, with a detection accuracy of 98.82% achieved for the CIC-IDS-2018 database in cyber-attack classification. © 2025 by the authors of this article. Fault-Tolerant Design for Data Efficient Retransmission in WiNoC

There is a sharp decline in the network performance when the wireless link fails as a data path in the Wireless Network-on-Chip(WiNoC).To counteract this problem,we propose a fault-tolerance mechanism for the efficient retransmission of data in the *** an error is detected in the data transmission process,this mechanism works to feed back the fault information to the source node in real time via fault signal *** the source node,the highest transmission priority is assigned to the backup retransmitted data,and the corresponding direct link is positioned to enable the data packet for its efficient retransmission to the destination node,thereby ensuring efficiency in fault ***,we have improved the receiving port of the wireless router,added the corresponding redundant buffers and mux,and dynamically selected the retransmitted non-faulty data packets to be written to the local router in order to avoid the disorderly retransmission of the data *** evaluation results of this paper demonstrate that compared with the methods which are under different fault conditions,this fault-tolerant method drastically improves the data throughput rate,reduces the delay,effectively guarantees the reliability of the network,and improves the system performance.

The Internet of Things’ (IoT) predicted enormous breadth and extensive organization make it challenging to acknowledge safe and secret communications. Investigations on the application of BC technology for decentralized assurance as well as protection are still ongoing. However, these arrangements are quite difficult to implement in terms of computation requirements and time constraints, preventing them from being used in most IoT applications. This study describes a blockchain-based asset-productive explanationwith regard to safe as well aspersonal Internet-of-Thing. The arrangement has beenfacilitated by the unique use of double-dealing of computing sources within a typical Internet-of-Things surrounding (such as intelligent houses), as well as the use of a Deep Outrageous Learning Machine event (DOLME). The Brilliant Home Engineering located in Blockchain gets protected in this suggested method by carefully evaluating its unshakable quality about the essential security elements of protection, trustworthiness, and availability. The overheads incurred with this approach (in regards to propagation, handling stage, along withpower use) have been peripherally linkedwith their assurance as well as protection advantages, which is why we also give reproduction findings. © 2024 The Author(s).

Several people suffer from irregular sleep patterns, a problem that negatively affects their daily lives. It presents a multitude of challenges, including daytime distress, disturbances in sleep-wake patterns, feelings of unease, and a variety of other complications. Diabetes, obesity, and psychological disorders are among the diseases that may be responsible for this sleep disorder. Therefore, the primary aim of this research is to employ the robust capabilities of machine learning in forecasting sleep disorders. This research classifies three diseases: diabetes, obesity, and psychological disorders, using thirty-two different classifiers belonging to five learning strategies. The research compares and evaluates their predictive performance on four datasets. The comparative analysis includes four evaluation metrics: Accuracy, Precision, ROC Area, and MCC. The research results indicate that the best classifier is SGD, followed by LMT, while NBM is the weakest classifier. In addition, the research results revealed that the best strategy is Functions, followed by Rules, with Bayes being the least effective strategy. While conducting the experiment and analyzing the data, it is observed that the best feature selection method that yielded the most favorable outcome is the CorrelationAttributeEval. Furthermore, it has been found that the classification algorithm known as SGD achieved the highest Accuracy and Precision in categorizing the data. This indicates that the combination of CorrelationAttributeEval as the feature selection approach and SGD as the classification algorithm proved to be the most successful and efficient strategy for this research © 2024 IEEE.

According to the supply chain disruptions induced by the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation between NATO and Russia that led to the rising of fuel costs. Rising fuel costs are a massive problem for business and consumers. People must pay more money for their living because higher fuel costs affect costs of products, services, and transportation. This paper aims to develop the vehicle management system to track the fuel usage, mileage, cost, and maintenance of cars in an organization. The system is developed in a form of a web application for reporting a fuel usage and requesting permission to reserve a car. We used HTML, PHP, and Laravel Jetstream to develop this web application for employees and administrators. Employee can choose a car and submit a reservation form through a website. While administrator can manage cars information through the dashboard. User can use the mobile application to check in to get a car when a car is ready to use and check out a car when he/she wants to return a car to a company. © 2023 IEEE.
