A Hybrid Inference Engine to Predict Uncertain Sugar Content for Sugar Industry

The sugar industry is facing challenges in increasing productivity to meet consumer demand. One opportunity for productivity improvement lies in ensuring sugar content. This study proposes a hybrid model to predict sugar content by considering uncertainty factors. A hybrid model combining fuzzy subtractive clustering, and a fuzzy inference system is proposed to predict sugar content. The clustering results using silhouette and fuzzy subtractive clustering successfully identified 6 cluster centres from 2225 datasets collected in a sugar industry in East Java Province. The hybrid inference engine model is designed with fuzzy rules derived from the clustered data. Two inference models are developed: triangular and Gaussian fuzzy numbers. The testing results indicate that the hybrid model with triangular fuzzy numbers shows the smallest error with an R2 value of 0.95. This model is possible to applied in the sugar industry for decision makers in improving productivity with taking attention into uncertain factors influencing sugar content.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) classification is a widely utilized instrument for personality assessment. However, it frequently encounters challenges due to imbalanced data distributions across personality dimensions. It is paramount to address this issue to enhance the accuracy and reliability of personality predictions. Most current research in this field is focused on data balancing techniques, such as oversampling and undersampling, which have been demonstrated to enhance model performance. Nevertheless, there is a dearth of research exploring text augmentation methods, particularly synonym replacement, for this purpose. This study examines the efficacy of synonym replacement as a data augmentation technique for MBTI classification. Experiments are conducted with varying levels of synonym replacement (10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%) to assess its impact on model accuracy and F1 scores across the four MBTI dimensions. Our findings indicate that low levels of synonym replacement, particularly at 10% to 50%, can enhance the performance of the model in predicting MBTI dimensions. On the other hand, a higher number of replaced words in the synonym replacement augmentation can harm the model's performance. These observations suggest that synonym replacement can effectively address data imbalance in MBTI classification, although its application must be tailored to specific personality dimensions.

Since the emergence of Pokémon Go in 2016, the world has been introduced to Augmented Reality (AR) games. Many IT companies have begun developing augmented reality (AR) games due to the great commercial potential in this industry. Certain products may have managed to remain viable in the market, while others were forced to close due to one or two factors. Since the emergence of Pokémon Go, no other game has managed to surpass its unprecedented success. The company responsible for developing Pokémon Go has decided to shut down one of their games due to a lack of consumer interest. The technology of augmented reality (AR) is consistently associated with the concept of immersion. Immersion is a key aspect of the game that allows users to deeply engage and feel fully involved in the experience. This study will employ a quantitative methodology, utilising a questionnaire that will be distributed to and completed by those who have engaged in augmented reality (AR) games. The data will be analysed using Smart PLS to examine the impact of user experience on immersion, which in turn influences intention. After gathering over 200 participants by spreading google form questionnaires and doing data analysis, the findings indicate that only a few aspects of user experience, namely Brand Experience and User Need Experience, have an impact on reasons. Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, was unable to replicate their success with a similar augmented reality game called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The initial release occurred on June 21, 2019, and the shutdown took place on December 21, 2021. In the beginning, they shown a profound enthusiasm for the game but were unable to sustain it, much as Pokémon Go. According to Niantic CEO John Hanke, the primary reason for the game's shutdown was its immersion. The long COVID-19 pandemic has limited the activities of Ruang Publik Terpadu Ramah Anak (RPTRA) such as environment cleaning, repair of RPTRA infrastructure, learning and others, as well as the lack of public awareness about the existence and importance of RPTRA to the public and foreign tourists encouraging the RPTRA to make changes in the dissemination of information about the activities carried out in the RPTRA through the use of technology to survive and grow even during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The methodology used in this research is Group Discussion Forum with the administrators of the RPTRA Maya ASRI 13 to learn about the needs and expectations of the RPTRA administrators regarding the web portal to be built. Then, the implementation of the conceptual model, development, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the RPTRA information web portal was carried out. The contribution in this research is to implement a conceptual model on the information portal built on the platform of the Website with the PHP framework, which is then evaluated on the results of the pre-test and post-test about RPTRA the Wilcoxon-Signed Rank Test to test the effectiveness of the information web portal for general users. The results obtained from these tests indicate that the RPTRA Information Web Portal can help the public learn more about the existence of RPTRA Maya Asri 13.

In this study,we utilize a potentially versatile Bayesian parameter approach to compute the value of the pion charge radius and quantify its uncertainty from several experimental e^(+)e^(-) datasets for the pion vector form *** employ dispersion relations to model the pion vector form factor to extract the *** model selection is used to determine the order of polynomial appearing in the form factor formulation that can be supported by the data,adapting the computation of Bayes evidence and Bayesian effective complexity based on Occam's *** findings indicate that five out of six used datasets favor the nine-parameter model for radius extraction,and accordingly,we average the radii from the *** some inconsistencies with the most updated radius values,our approach may serve as a more intuitive method of addressing parameter estimations in dispersion theory.

The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) has been widely adopted for a lot of purposes. Business process automation is one type of implementation that has been carried out. In addition, the data successfully captured by the IoT ecosystem can be utilized for various computer modeling needs, including the decision model construction in assessing room quality. The decision model itself is a computer model supporting the decision maker in decision making process. This research, via four simple research stages, aims to develop an IoT-based decision model to evaluate room quality based on two parameters: temperature and humidity. The design of the IoT environment and the implementation of temperature and humidity data readings in a room are used as input data for a decision model to assess the comfort level of the room. In this study, the primary method used to design the model is object-oriented, while fuzzy logic is employed to build the model. The developed decision model can simulate data captured from the designed IoT ecosystem, successfully assessing the comfort level of a room. From the simulation results using 18 data points (from 9 days of data capturing) captured by temperature and humidity sensors, the average comfort level of the room was found to be 19.7873.

Tourism is one of Indonesia's main economic drivers because it can absorb many workers and bring in foreign exchange through tourism activities. Research related to Smart Tourism Destinations (STDs) and the technology that supports them has gained popularity and has received special attention in the last ten years. STDs show that various technologies are applied to a tourist destination, one of which aims to increase added value for the surrounding community and tourists. This study employs the systematic literature review (SLR) method to investigate smart tourism destinations and governance topics. This research aims to identify and analyze the main components of Smart Tourism Destinations Governance. Two research questions were developed and incorporated into the search term. This research resulted in 24 research papers on smart tourism destinations and governance. The result of this study is a proposed IT Governance Model, which can be a guideline for tourism's DMOs (Destination Management Organizations), tourism enterprises, IT companies that support smart tourism concepts, and policymakers (government) to improve their service to society/community. The model can be used as a guide to governing the IT implementation in smart tourism destinations projects. Limitations of this study regarding the scalability of database and keyword usage and their methodologies. Theoretical implication for scholars in the next research is that research can be conducted on how to implement this model and whether this model can be easily adopted. This future work also regarding the IT Governance Maturity Model or the measurement of IT Gov readiness in smart tourism destinations. © 2022 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) was evaluated as part of this study. The IoT system in this study is the air quality monitoring system. The system consists of three layers, three end devices with air quality monitoring sensors as the perception layer, the LoRaWAN network as the network layer, and the monitoring website as the presentation layer. Before being made available to the public, IoT hardware and software must undergo testing. For IoT systems, there are no established standards or quality criteria. This study's goal is to evaluate the methodology for an air quality monitoring system. Website speed is measured using Pingdom tools. The website received a performance grade of B. Pingdom offers advice for enhancing website performance. Sucuri is utilized as a security test tool to evaluate the website's security, and consequently, no malware was discovered. The latency and data dependability are monitored to assess the system's performance fully. The outcome demonstrates that all system components consistently and accurately receive data with a latency of less than 1 s.

Semi-automated meningioma segmentation with bounding boxes

Segmentation is manually performed by physicians, which takes considerable time and may be subject to observers. Automating this task can increase efficiency and consistency. Existing studies on meningioma segmentation used data from limited study centers, indicating the need for research on multi-center data to assess generalizability. In this work, two semi-automated methods with bounding box priors, LiteMedSAM and BBU-Net, are evaluated on the brain tumor segmentation (BraTS) 2023 meningioma dataset collected from five study-centers. Preprocessing included exclusion of small tumors, z-score normalization, and extraction of slices that contain tumors, generating 25,602 2D axial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. A fine-tuning strategy is adopted for LiteMedSAM while BBU-Net is trained from scratch. The models are evaluated using a five-fold cross-validation, with data split at the case level. Results show that while U-Net models can achieve performance close to LiteMedSAM, the foundation model has overall better performance, with more than 90% in all evaluation scores.

Low resolution image-face recognition system is one of the challenging aspects of face recognition models' development. From machine learning, deep learning, and into ensemble learning are implemented to develop face recognition models. Including mpdCNN that published by Mishra in a journal article. This mpdCNN already achieved 88.6% accuracy score on SCFace dataset while published. Based on literature review, ensemble learning model can be improved by modifying parallel layers. The purpose of this research is to improve mpdCNN's performance by implementing some modifications include adding parallel layers, alternating the fusion layers, expanding the layers, and adding residual connections. Some modifications were successfully improved mpdCNN's accuracy score. By adding parallel layers and residual connections into mpdCNN's architecture, the modified mpdCNN that proposed in this research achieved 92.33% accuracy score, measured by Rank-k evaluation metric. © 2025 IEEE.
