In this paper we investigate the suitability of different types of Dynamic Classifier Selection approaches for the task of multimodal music mood classification. The dynamic selection methods evaluated were: KNORA-UNION, KNORAELIMINATE, Dynamic Ensemble Selection Performance, Overall Local Accuracy, Local Class Accuracy, Multiple Classifier Behaviour, A Priori and A Posteriori. The experiments were performed using the Brazilian Music Mood Database, which is a multimodal database, containing the audio signal itself, beyond their visual representation (i.e. spectrogram) and the lyrics. The obtained results have shown that the use of dynamic classifier selection methods can improve the classification results for the task at hand.

It is essential to develop an efficient Client Relationship Model in order to make use of the estimations about customer turnover (CRM). Finding and breaking down the facts surrounding the business information understanding is necessary for client produce prediction, which should be made possible effectively by altering the strategies used for business insight. The tools that are provided by company insight allow for the historical, current, and prospective perspectives of business activity to be anticipated and dissected. It is possible to deal with it in an efficient way by providing the information mining approaches that choose the data from the created informative index that is the most helpful. Fundamental leadership should be possible to achieve in a fruitful way if one has this information. The actions that consumers have taken in the recent past are going to be analyzed, and an accurate forecast is going to be formed about those customers who are likely going to get unhappy in the near future based on the results of that prediction. The problem is that deciding on a certain period to investigate the client's activities and also establishing on a specific day and age for each of the clients won't be appropriate6. This is due to the fact that the problem is caused by the fact that deciding on a certain period to investigate the client's activities will take too long. The challenge lies just in this aspect. How to decide on a certain amount of time to spend researching the activities of the customer. For instance, when planning a model, 100 customers are used, 70 of those customers are considered 'active,' which indicates that they are still conducting business with the organisation, and the remaining 30 customers are considered 'agitate,' which indicates that they have severed their ties with the organisation. Skin lesions are classified in benign or malignant. Among the malignant, melanoma is a very aggressive cancer and the major cause of deaths. So, early diagnosis of skin cancer is very desired. In the last few years, there is a growing interest in computer aided diagnostic (CAD) using most image and clinical data of the lesion. Although we have seen an increasing progress in CAD of skin lesions, these sources of information present limitations due to their inability to provide information of the molecular structure of the lesion. NIR spectroscopy may provide an alternative source of information to automated CAD of skin lesions. The most commonly used techniques and classification algorithms used in spectroscopy are Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Partial Least Squares - Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA), and Support Vector Machines (SVM). Nonetheless, there is a growing interest in applying the modern techniques of machine and deep learning (MDL) to spectroscopy. One of the main limitations to apply MDL to spectroscopy is the lack of public datasets. Since there is no public dataset of NIR spectral data to skin lesions, as far as we know, an effort has been made and a new dataset named NIR-SC-UFES, has been collected, annotated and analyzed generating the gold-standard for classification of NIR spectral data to skin cancer. Next, the machine learning algorithms XGBoost, CatBoost, LightGBM, 1D-convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) and standard algorithms as SVM and PLS-DA were investigated to classify cancer and non-cancer skin lesions. Experimental results indicate the best performance obtained by LightGBM with pre-processing using standard normal variate (SNV), feature extraction and data augmentation with Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) providing values of 0.839 for balanced accuracy, 0.851 for recall, 0.852 for precision, and 0.850 for F-score. Design and implementation of virtual-single-length turbo decoder for multi-user parallel decoding

Dealing with multiple users in cellular basestation with multiple codewords of variable length is a challenging task in parallel decoding. Thus, a novel turbo decoder with variable codeword-based parallel decoding is proposed for the 3GPP LTE (4G) system. To make multi-user decoding more efficient, all users are aggregated into a single block with zero insertions where all users can be decoded in the same cycle. Different users are separated by additional zeros to decode in parallel and improve the hardware utilization. Moreover, a stationary boundary enhancement is utilized to exchange and update the decoded messages between different sub-blocks of codeword for the next decoding interaction. This scheme can balance the performance loss and decoding latency of variable codeword-based parallel decoding. The proposed turbo decoder has a maximum throughput of 280.5 Mbps (VC707) and 212 Mbps (ZC706), where the design has been integrated and tested with OpenAirInterface (OAI) 4G eNB in campus trials. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

Open-world Semi-Supervised Learning (OSSL) is a realistic and challenging task, aiming to classify unlabeled samples from both seen and novel classes using partially labeled samples from the seen classes. Previous works typically explore the relationship of samples as priors on the pre-defined single-granularity labels to help novel class recognition. In fact, classes follow a taxonomy and samples can be classified at multiple levels of granularity, which contains more underlying relationships for supervision. We thus argue that learning with single-granularity labels results in sub-optimal representation learning and inaccurate pseudo labels, especially with unknown classes. In this paper, we take the initiative to explore and propose a uniformed framework, called Taxonomic context prIors Discovering and Aligning (TIDA), which exploits the relationship of samples under various granularity. It allows us to discover multi-granularity semantic concepts as taxonomic context priors (i.e., sub-class, target-class, and super-class), and then collaboratively leverage them to enhance representation learning and improve the quality of pseudo labels. Specifically, TIDA comprises two components: i) A taxonomic context discovery module that constructs a set of hierarchical prototypes in the latent space to discover the underlying taxonomic context priors; ii) A taxonomic context-based prediction alignment module that enforces consistency across hierarchical predictions to build the reliable relationship between classes among various granularity and provide additions supervision. We demonstrate that these two components are mutually beneficial for an effective OSSL framework, which is theoretically explained from the perspective of the EM algorithm. Extensive experiments on seven commonly used datasets show that TIDA can significantly improve the performance and achieve a new state of the art. Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) has been one of the most popular methods in time-series forecasting. Within the LSTM architecture, there are hyperparameters present that need to be optimized in order to achieve the optimum results. In order to optimize these hyperparameters, a metaheuristic optimization method was used. A metaheuristic algorithm was used as a way to reduce both time and computational complexity. We used the Search Economics algorithm because we found the algorithm quite interesting while being unpopular. The evaluation was carried out by using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) as the primary metric used for the optimization. The dataset being used in this experiment is the stock price of one of the most well-known financial institutes in Indonesia. The SE-Optimized LSTM was able to create a prediction that did not overfit with RMSE of 538.92, which was great compared to the unoptimized LSTM model with RMSE of 661.041 and ARIMA model with RMSE of 2809.015. © 2020. Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) Services have significant potential in digital content creation. The distinctive abilities of AIGC, such as content generation based on minimal input, hold huge potential, especially when integrating with semantic communication (SemCom). In this paper, a novel comprehensive conceptual model for the integration of AIGC and SemCom is developed. Particularly, a content generation level is introduced on top of the semantic level that provides a clear outline of how AIGC and SemCom interact with each other to produce meaningful and effective content. Moreover, a novel framework that employs AIGC technology is proposed as an encoder and decoder for semantic information, considering the joint optimization of semantic extraction and evaluation metrics tailored to AIGC services. The framework can adapt to different types of content generated, the required quality and the semantic information utilized. By employing a Deep Q Network (DQN), a case study is presented that provides useful insights into the feasibility of the optimization problem and its convergence characteristics. © 2023, CC BY.

The attendance management system is a system that needed for learning activity in a University. In some University, the attendance management system has been used tapping system which using NFC technology. Actually, that attendance management system is effective for managing each of attendance information. However, until now we can still see many cheats for this attendance system. For example, leave their cards to their classmates and tell them to tap for them. For that, one of the many effective solutions to resolve that problem is to add face recognition technology in the current attendance system. In our experiment, we know that to add face recognition to the current attendance management system surely need a camera and also face dataset for the system. At the beginning, we need at least 9 images with different emotions and face positions to let the system recognizes one's face. To make this system more accurate at recognizing one's face, we would update the face dataset in every face recognizing process. © 2020 IEEE.

Fuzzy water flow algorithm (FWFA) based ecological decision support model (ecoDSM) for flood control operating system

Flood disaster happens periodically in Jakarta. One opportunity that can be maximized to mitigate it is control management of the Manggarai water gate (MWG). The MWG itself is placed in the Ciliwung river in one district of the capital Jakarta. It has a vital role to minimize the impact of flood disasters in Jakarta. The study is a further version of previous research indeveloping a water-flow-like algorithm (WFA) based decision support model (DSM) to mitigate the impact of flood disasters. Theconstructed DSM is practically functioned to control the operation of opening/closing the MWG. The DSM was constructed by combining the previous WFA model with the concept of fuzzy logic (FL). The constructed model is called Fuzzy-WFA (FWFA) ecological DSM (ecoDSM); as it considers several aspects of ecology, e.g. river condition, weather situation, and flood itself. By building the FWFA-ecoDSM, the value of uncertainty can be converted to become crisp logic that is easier to understand. At the end of this research, the FWFA-ecoDSM was implemented in more detail compared with the previous one by producing the decimal numbers with 3 until 6 numbers behind the point; exclusively, in predicting the water level status, where the status used todecide the opening/closing level decision for opening or closing the MWG.
