The popularity of Metaverse as an entertainment, social, and work platform has led to a great need for seamless avatar integration in the virtual world. In Metaverse, avatars must be updated and rendered to reflect users' behaviour. Achieving real-time synchronization between the virtual bilocation and the user is complex, placing high demands on the Metaverse Service Provider (MSP)'s rendering resource allocation scheme. To tackle this issue, we propose a semantic communication framework that leverages contest theory to model the interactions between users and MSPs and determine optimal resource allocation for each user. To reduce the consumption of network resources in wireless transmission, we use the semantic communication technique to reduce the amount of data to be transmitted. Under our simulation settings, the encoded semantic data only contains 51 bytes of skeleton coordinates instead of the image size of 8.243 megabytes. Moreover, we implement Deep Q-Network to optimize reward settings for maximum performance and efficient resource allocation. With the optimal reward setting, users are incentivized to select their respective suitable uploading frequency, reducing down-sampling loss due to rendering resource constraints by 66.076% compared with the traditional average distribution method. The framework provides a novel solution to resource allocation for avatar association in VR environments, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience for all users.

Many countries are still dependent on fossil fuels as their primary energy supply. However, there is a growing concern about the sustainability and the environmental issue of fossil fuels. Therefore, it is important to utilize renewable resources as the energy supply, such as solar energy. As a country with a tropical climate, Indonesia has a great potential to use solar energy, due to the abundance of sunlight exposure. The present study aims to analyze several meteorological parameters for the installation of photovoltaic (PV) technology in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meteorological data provided by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia from 2008-2021 were used at three different locations in Jakarta. Data visualizations were used to show the difference between each variable in different locations. In addition, the statistical difference between the variables in the three locations was also examined using the Mann-Whitney U test. The test shows that all parameters are evenly distributed in the three locations except for a moderate difference in air temperature in the two locations. Furthermore, the monthly analysis of the parameters also indicates that the dry season, especially from August to September, would be the optimal time to utilize PV technology. Hence, this study would be useful to give preliminary insight regarding a site-specified assessment of PV plants in Jakarta based on local meteorological data.

In mobile robotics, an essential requirement for the fusion of different sensors is that measurements are expressed with respect to the same reference. In this sense, the transformation between sensors and robot is necessary to ensure better sensor fusion. Therefore, this article proposes an extrinsic sensor calibration based on markers and associated to three orthogonal planes. This technique is applied to two calibration approaches, LiDAR-Robot and LiDAR-Camera. The first one calculates the transformation between a 3D LiDAR sensor and a robot, and the second system calculates the transformation between a 3D LiDAR and an embedded RGB camera. To demonstrate the efficiency of our method, we performed simulations on the CoppeliaSim simulator and experiments in the laboratory. Then, the results show that it is possible to calibrate the sensors with the methodologies.
