Decision Theory and Risk Simulation Analysis for Optimizing Profit in PayLater Services

The projected increase in PayLater utilization reaches up to five million people by 2025. To optimize the yearly profit from their PayLater service, fintech companies must examine all possible risks before a unanimous decision is taken. Therefore, we proposed a unified decision framework derived from decision theory and the Monte Carlo simulation technique. Two schemes were coined: (1) a decision-making scheme, and (2) a risk simulation scheme. Throughout experiments, the framework was able to estimate several alternative decisions and their impacts, analyze the causes of failure and delays in the development of the PayLater service, and execute Monte Carlo simulations in up to 10,000 trials. Outputs of this study will benefit decision-makers in the fintech initiative before launching their PayLater products.

Sentiment Analysis for TikTok Review Using VADER Sentiment and SVM Model

TikTok, a social networking site for uploading short videos, has become one of the most popular. Despite this, not all users are happy with the app; there are criticisms and suggestions, one of which is reviewed via the TikTok app on the Google Play Store. The reviews were extracted and then used for training a sentiment analysis model. The VADER sentiment method was utilized to offer the review's initial labeling (positive, neutral, and negative). The result revealed that most reviews were classified as positive, meaning that the data were imbalanced and challenging to handle in further analysis. Therefore, Random Under-sampling (RUS) and Random Over-sampling (ROS) methods were deployed to deal with that condition. The labeled reviews were subsequently pre-processed using tools such as case folding, noise removal, normalization, and stopwords before being used for training a Support Vector Machine (SVM) model for sentiment classification. The SVM trained without resampling produced the most favorable results, with an F1-score of 0.80.

The number of motorbike theft case in Indonesia has increasing rapidly. This phenomenon led to the increasing of the criminal number especially motorbike theft case. Nowadays, the use of CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) camera has been widely applied. Nevertheless, CCTV does not has the ability to prevent criminal acts such motorbike theft case. Therefore, there is a need of a technology based to prevent motorbike theft acts. This research proposed an initial research of motorbike theft detection system that focused on the process of motorbike detection using Deep Learning approach. In this research, the YOLO architecture was utilized to detect the motorbike object inside an image frame. There are two testing scenarios for motorbike detection process, using trained model, and using pre-trained model. The trained model obtain better result rather than using pre-trained model by achieving 0.93 of its accuracy that proven the YOLO v8 model are working well especially when it is applied with transfer learning process for its based model. © 2023 IEEE.

Emotion recognition can help human-computer interactions by enabling systems to respond empathetically and adapt to users' emotional conditions. This capability improves user experience, supporting the development of a more intuitive and emotionally responsive communication system. This study analyzes a bimodal approach based on gender (male and female) to recognize emotions without contextual information in dialogue analysis. Utilizing the Multimodal EmoryNLP dataset extracted from the TV series Friends with acted speech, we focused on four primary emotions: Angry, Neutral, Joy, and Scared. The model used in this study for text classification is RoBERTa, and wav2vec 2.0 is used for audio feature extraction with the Bi-LSTM model for classification. The experiment results using weighted F1-score reveal that data augmentation enhanced the performance of analyzing the original dataset from 0.46% to 0.52% and the male dataset from 0.43% to 0.51 %. In comparison, the female dataset remained consistent at 0.46%. The weighted F1-score and Unweighted Averaged Recall (UAR) from the male dataset are higher, 51 % and 48%, respectively, than those from the female dataset, 46% and 47%, respectively. Gender-based analysis indicated that male and female datasets exhibited distinct performance patterns, highlighting variations in emotional expression and recognition between genders. These findings underscore the effectiveness of multimodal strategies in emotion recognition and suggest that gender-specific factors play a significant role in enhancing classification performance. While these results highlight performance trends, further validation through repeated trials and statistical analyses could provide stronger generalizations and insights into gender-based differences.

The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze what has been done by previous studies in knowing the problems faced by SMEs today and how the influence of Industry 4.0 technology in dealing with problems in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), so that they become developed and can maintain their business continuity. Most studies show that SMEs have considerable barriers when trying to use the potential of Industry 4.0 to improve the competitiveness and long-term sustain ability of their business. This systematic literature review uses the Kitchenham technique to identify SME problems and the role of Industry 4.0 technologies in SMEs in various industrialized and developing countries. Through several databases including: IEEE, science Direct, Web of science, Taylor & Francis, Emerald and Springer between 2019 - 2023 were used to find relevant research articles in this study. The research findings offer valuable perspectives on the strategies, obstacles and prospects that SMEs in different countries face in adjusting to Industry 4.0. The contribution of academics in this research is to provide solutions by designing more robust approaches to promote the business sustainability of SMEs and their role in driving economic progress in their countries.

The Utilization of Fuzzy Logic and Bollinger Bands to Enhance Trading Decision-Making During the Bitcoin Halving Phase

The volatile behavior of Bitcoin's price, especially during its halving periods, poses considerable obstacles for forecasting and decision-making in cryptocurrency trading. This paper presents a novel method that combines application fuzzy logic with Bollinger Bands to improve trading decision-making in times of high market volatility. This study conducted an experiment utilizing three fuzzy logic controllers and Bollinger Bands (BB) to determine the strength of buy, hold, and sell signals. This dataset includes the initial and final prices that are used to calculate the BB. The raw and computed values serve as the precise input parameters for the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS). The membership functions were categorized into four levels: very low, low, high, and very high, based on the input default settings utilized by traders. Rulesets were created using fuzzy logic to produce signals that indicate the level of strength of a trading advice. This study evaluate the effectiveness of this hybrid method in comparison to the traditional utilization of the Bollinger Band only indicator and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator, which is widely favored by traders to identify possible market fluctuations. This methodology involves creating a trading simulation that is based on past Bitcoin halving events. The objective is to assess the efficacy of these strategies in managing heightened volatility. The application of fuzzy logic with the Bollinger Bands model yielded a success rate of 92.47% while analyzing 93 daily data points from the previous Bitcoin halving event on May 11, 2020.

Because financial time series forecasting is sensitive to political, economic, and social factors, it is not a simple task. As a result, those who make investments in currency exchange and financial markets typically search for reliable models that can guarantee they will maximize their profile and minimize their losses. Fortunately, many studies have used a method from Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) called Backpropagation, could improve the predictive accuracy of the behavior of the financial data over time. This paper aims to forecast stock share prediction from closing value of PT. Bank Central Asia Tbk, and PT. Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk. The results show that the using Backpropagation gives the closest result. And for the rating of judgement for cast accuracy, it exceeded 10% accuracy, which means high accurate from the prediction. For further checking, comparing the results of research from Victor’s results, it almost hits the same accuracy percentage. Which means, these prediction are accurate enough to do time series forecasting.

As the cost of genetic testing becomes more affordable each year, direct-to-customer (DTC) genetic testing services witness rapid market growth. This has encouraged the development of an easy-to-use website application to optimize potential customers to obtain informed choice regarding the offered DTC genetic testing as well as purchasing information. We present a wireframing process as a part of the agile software development process to build a web portal prototype for an Indonesia-based genetic testing service called DNAku. The approach in building the prototype used in this case is a part of the Agile Software Development Method. In brief, the wireframing stage resulted in this work consists of three main important outcomes. The first one is the use case diagram as a blueprint of this web-based system. A site map is then proposed as an extended version of the use case diagram which visualizes the whole pages with the links. Finally, based on this site map a series of page mock-ups are designed using Hyper Text Marking Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The result of the prototype can be used as the basis for the next development stage, which is the coding stage based on the collected feedback from users. Considering the continuous application development via the wireframing method by taking into account the cycle of feedbacks from involved parties, this approach can strengthen the infrastructure to sustain DTC genetic business model, which has a niche market in Indonesia. © 2022 IEEE.

YOLOS-MCI: Automating Microservices Coupling Index Calculation using Vision Transformers

Microservice Architectures (MSA) provide flexibility and scalability in software development. However, accurately measuring the level of interdependence among Microservices continues to be a difficult task. Precisely evaluating this connection is essential for efficient MSA design, maintenance, and future development. Conventional techniques for assessing Microservice coupling are frequently done by hand, require a significant amount of time, and are susceptible to mistakes. This impedes the capacity to make well-informed judgments regarding the integration and adjustment of services. This study introduces a new method for automating the computation of the Microservice Coupling Index (MCI) by utilizing the You Only Look at One Sequence (YOLOS) object identification technique in combination with Vision Transformer (ViTs) technology. YOLOS is utilized for identifying constituents within Unified Modeling Language (UML) Component Diagrams, facilitating precise classification and effective assessment of coupling. The model exhibits varying performance over multiple Intersection over Union (IoU) thresholds and object sizes, with an average precision (AP) of 0.406 over IoU values ranging from 0.50 to 0.95. The maximum precision is achieved at an IoU of 0.50, with an AP of 0.709. The model demonstrates good performance in identifying smaller components, especially when evaluated at a 0.75 IoU threshold. However, it faces challenges in detecting small items, suggesting potential areas for improvement in future iterations. Initial results indicate that this automation greatly decreases the need for manual, labor-intensive tasks and enhances the precision of measuring coupling in MSA, hence facilitating effective decision-making in service integration and modification. Automating the computation of the coupling index has the potential to significantly influence the design and management of durable and readily controllable microservice architectures.

Succession planning is important in organization management. It is a strategic level management that involves not only finding the best successor but also including the development program for the successor so that they will be ready for the new prospective position. The integration and collaboration between all related stakeholders are important. Specifically, in succession planning at higher education, key positions play an important role so that institutional operations can run well. In this research, a succession planning model in higher education was built using the Systematic Literature Review(SLR), and the Software Development Lifecycle(SDLC) method was used for the application development, also, to be able to evaluate the implementation of one of the steps of the model, the simulation technique used machine learning (ML) to find the best algorithm for predicting the readiness of potential successors at higher education. Six algorithms were used: Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, K-Nearest Neighbor, Linear Discriminant Analysis, Gaussian Naïve Bayes, and Support Vector Machine. The data prepared for the simulation is based on the factors for the best successor candidate. The results obtained in this research are the succession planning model and the application design, as well as the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm as the best algorithm for predicting the readiness status of successor candidates based on SVM’s accuracy score that is compared to the other algorithm in some variance amounts of data. The Succession Planning Model that is actualized in the application design provides a reference for the higher education institution to implement the Succession Model in their institution.
