The launch of StuntingDB is believed to enliven the role of database management systems (DBMS) in Indonesia's stunting research. However, a novelty in stunting data management that enables parallel project activation in multiple observation areas is necessary. Several improved functionalities in StuntingDB must be designed to prevent the high demand for accessibility in the middle of stunting research. Connolly and Begg's principle of database design is adopted along with Software Development Life Cycle's Waterfall model for creating a continuous development of the system. This research produces a new database design in the form of Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and Use Case Diagram to help system developers realizing a new version of StuntingDB for stunting research in several observation areas. © 2022 IEEE.

In this digital era, we are exposed to a large amount of data. This includes biological data, which stores information about living organisms, including Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), genes, and proteins. With the development of information technology and information system, most of available biological data are stored in an online public database. Many of the databases are free-access and easily used, which helps the users, especially researchers, to make use of the data. Among the known public biological databases are the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) Genome Browser Database and the Rat Genome Database (RGD). These two databases provide access to the biological data from different organisms. This paper aims to describe the technology of public biological databases. Also elucidated in this paper are the differences features between UCSC Genome Browser Database and the RGD. Our results showed that the UCSC contains much more biological data and features than the RGD. However, the genome browser of UCSC has a complex display, while the RGD has a simple display. Overall, both databases give the users the option to choose the most suitable database for them. © 2022 IEEE.

This study analyzed interactions between Twitter users in conversations regarding Indonesia's state-owned vaccine manufacturer 'Biofarma' in 2021. The primary objective of this study is to identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) due to the need of authentic and trustworthy persona in social media. A technique called network centrality was employed in this research alongside four centrality measurements, namely degree of centrality, eigenvector centrality, betweenness centrality, and closeness centrality. Focused on using a reply network interaction dataset, the research discovered several important usernames with different roles that enlivened the conversation and have a potential for social media marketing optimization. © 2022 IEEE.

Technological advancements are accelerating in the modern day;one such advancement is augmented reality (AR) technology. Naturally, these advancements have an effect on various sectors of life, one of which is education. The education industry will be the most impacted if campuses implement and deploy augmented reality technology. One of these is through the use of augmented reality technology as an application-based learning medium for students in order to motivate them to learn and make it easier for them to improve their academic performance on campus. The issue at hand is the absence of utilization of augmentation reality technology as a learning medium on campus, which, of course, does not capitalize on technical advancements to improve student interest in learning. This study employs a research and development model. The method is divided into four phases: (1) planning;(2) data collecting;(3) analysis, discussion, and development;and (4) documentation. The findings of this study reveal that students enthusiastically support the usage of augmented reality technology as a learning medium in order to boost accomplishment and introduce new experiences through its use. However, it is required to have a system capable of serving as a technological medium, so that the construction of a system capable of serving as a medium for augmented reality may be easily accessed by students, who hope that this system would enable them to better their academic performance. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

An Exploratory Computational Approach for Elucidating a Nonstructural Protein Interaction in Dengue Virus 2

As the dengue infection still impacts hundreds of millions of people globally, unprecedented efforts in dengue drug development have been more progressive in recent decades. Computational methods provide a fast, sustainable, and efficient screening of active compounds and newly created drug molecules, including those specifically targeting nonstructural proteins (NS) of dengue viruses. In this work, protein modeling for the NS proteins of DENV-2/16681 strain was performed using a template-based homology modeling for the NS3 protein and an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based prediction via AlphaFold for the NS4B protein. Moreover, the protein-protein interaction between the two structures was predicted using the HADDOCK server, which employs information about active and passive residues of the interaction interface to guide the docking process. After the modeling and its respective refinement process, the predicted structures of NS3 and NS4B improved their steric clashing scoring from MolProbity assessment. The refined models were then docked, and the resulting docking pose was analyzed to extract the interacting residues based on the polar contacts within the interface of the two proteins. Our result presents a preliminary study to create a dataset related to in silico molecular interactions of the NS3-NS4B interaction of different DENV types. It is helpful for building a computational pipeline for elucidating protein-ligand problems in dengue drug screenings.

To ensure the sustainability of their operations, higher education institutions have to establish a robust strategic plan. Higher education institutions have an obligation to continuously assess the quality of their educational offerings in every program to comply with the standards established by the government and other educational entities. The implementation of intelligent decision support systems is a feasible approach among other techniques for addressing the aforementioned challenges. An intelligent decision support system has the potential to enable the business to uphold its adherence to regulations, enhance operational effectiveness, and optimize overall performance. This study aimed to determine the current state of intelligent decision support systems through the implementation of a comprehensive literature review. The second goal is to evaluate the best practices, methods, and implementation of intelligent decision support systems within higher education institutions. The findings indicate that intelligent decision support systems have the capacity to serve as a viable option for higher education, particularly in terms of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of decision-making processes. Intelligent decision support systems exhibit a strong correlation with the fields of data mining and computational intelligence techniques. Nevertheless, the amount of research conducted on this subject is limited.

A subscription movie streaming service from the United States, Netflix, has been present in Indonesia since 2016 and provides a wide variety of films without showing any single advertisements that can be viewed from anywhere, as long as there is access to the internet. Despite these advantages, many users have complained through the Google Play Store's comments column. Some of the common complaints include frequent buffering and connectivity issues, dissatisfaction with the limited selection of Indonesian movies, lack of subtitles for specific languages, or pricing concerns have also been raised. In this study developed two combined scenario methods using the InSet and SentiStrength_id dictionary to obtain better performance and compare them against independent InSet and SentiStrength_id. This study collected users' comments for the Netflix app in the Google Play Store as a dataset using web scraping techniques through the Google Collaboration tool. The dataset contains 3250 rows spanning the period from January 22, 2024, through June 6, 2024. To ensure proper processing of the text, data cleaning, lowercasing, normalization, tokenization, stemming, and stopwords removal are conducted. The results show that most user opinions are negative. The InSet dictionary has an accuracy of 92%, SentiStrength_id 78%, Combined scenario 1 is 87%, and scenario 2 reaches the highest among others which is 92.52%.

Mangroves play an important role in providing essential ecosystem services and resources for fisheries, offering protection against climate change and coastal erosion. Understanding the changes in mangrove forests is essential for the sustainability of the coastal ecosystem. The study aims to analyze the spatiotemporal changes of mangrove forests in Tarakan Island using Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 images from 2018 and 2023. The analysis shows changes in land cover, with an increase in aquaculture land and a decrease in other land types. The results of the accuracy assessment show good results, with an accuracy value of 0.82 and a Kappa value of 0.78 in the mangrove areas in 2023. These values indicate that the classification of land cover in the study area was reliable and accurate. The conversion of mangrove forests into aquaculture land poses a challenge for their conservation. Therefore, preserving and conserving mangrove forests in the study area is essential for maintaining the ecological balance and supporting the livelihoods of local communities. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Data selection can be used in conjunction with adaptive filtering algorithms to avoid unnecessary weight updating and thereby reduce computational overhead. This paper presents a novel correntropy-based data selection method as an alternative to conventional data selection mechanisms based on squared error values. We developed a variable correntropy sensing algorithm to maximize the instantaneous correntropy function for the Gaussian kernel function to mitigate the impact of impulse noise and other forms of noise that can be disregarded in data selection. The proposed data selection mechanism can be implemented with any adaptive filtering algorithm. In simulations, the proposed method (implemented with the least mean squared algorithm) outperformed comparable error-based data selection schemes in terms of hit rate and miss rate, and the resulting weight updating ratio was close to the expected weight updating ratio. © 2023 IEEE. Generalized-linear dynamical models (GLDMs) remain a widely-used framework within neuroscience for modeling time-series data, such as neural spiking activity or categorical decision outcomes. Whereas the standard usage of GLDMs is to model a single data source, certain applications require jointly modeling two generalized-linear time-series sources while also dissociating their shared and private dynamics. Most existing GLDM variants and their associated learning algorithms do not support this capability. Here we address this challenge by developing a multi-step analytical subspace identification algorithm for learning a GLDM that explicitly models shared vs. private dynamics within two generalized-linear time-series. In simulations, we demonstrate our algorithm's ability to dissociate and model the dynamics within two time-series sources while being agnostic to their respective observation distributions. In neural data, we consider two specific applications of our algorithm for modeling discrete population spiking activity with respect to a secondary time-series. In both synthetic and real data, GLDMs learned with our algorithm more accurately decoded one time-series from the other using lower-dimensional latent states, as compared to models identified using existing GLDM learning algorithms. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation.
