The proliferation of digital camera technology has provided many digital images for object detection and counting in public places. This paper presents an experiment on the realtime vehicle counting method to be implemented in a single board computer. The proposed design's objective is to detect and count vehicles entering and exiting at entrances using haar cascade classifier algorithms and other automatic open and close door systems controlled by a single board computer (SBC). The proposed system was tested using raspberry pi 4 model B with a 4GB RAM platform. The empiric results using 3-minute video as input with a total of 113 passing vehicles the proposed method achieve of 91.2 % of average accuracy. © 2021 IEEE.

The importance of optimization in the manufacturing industry to achieve efficiency and effectiveness, especially in production machines. This research focuses on developing a real-time monitoring system based on the internet to monitor power consumption and production machines' speed accurately. The data taken by the real-time monitoring system is integrated into the ERP System, which is stored as time series data of power consumption and engine speed. The importance of making production cost estimates, especially on the power consumption of a production machine for the future, and functioning as a tool for real-time monitoring, the data obtained is processed by regression to get an estimate of the total power consumption for several expected outputs. The data is processed using a linear regression algorithm to predict power consumption at the desired speed on the intended production machine. To get a better tool than the one that existed before, the method in its development uses PIECES analysis. In its implementation, this real-time monitoring system runs according to the objectives, and the data obtained is as expected. This model was developed on production machines in the flexible packaging industry that uses rotogravure machines. It is possible that it can be used on production machines in other industries that use electrical power correlated with the speed measured based on the rotation of a motor. © 2021 IEEE.

Sign language is the most commonly used communication medium for people who are deaf and mute. By using body movements, they can convey meaning through visual cues, not vocal cues. This type of language is learned almost exdusively by people who are deaf or dumb and those who interact with them on a daily basis. Most people do not learn it because sign language is not part of basic education, and the lack of need to use it, especially from a young age. Most of the spoken languages in the world usually have sign language variants according to the language of their respective countries. In this study, a mobile application is developed for children to learn Indonesian sign language where the process model is designed using use case diagrams, and the database design is modeled with class diagrams. As for the implementation, the Android Studio software is used for the application, and the MySQLdatabase is for database storage.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, today's property trade transactions through the website have become common. This phenomenon requires the availability of a trustable property commerce website. This research aims to produce a website trusted for sellers and buyers of property in conducting trade. So, we need to know what information is required by the property validation process so that sellers and buyers feel safe committing the transactions. This website will help increase public trust because it is supported by a verification and validation process by third parties regarding property information. The research method begins with distributing questionnaires to discover the needs of property sellers and buyers, then developing a website using the waterfall methodology of the Laravel application framework. The result of this research is to establish a set of information needed for the property validation process that needs to be verified before conducting transactions. Finally, this web application can increase trust by 59.5%, whereas 37.6% gave the maximum value and 8.7% of respondents gave only moderate weight after being tested on 173 respondents.

Circular dichroism(CD)spectroscopy has been widely demonstrated for detecting chiral ***,the determination of chiral mixtures with various concentrations and enantiomeric ratios can be a challenging *** solve this problem,we report an enhanced vibrational circular dichroism(VCD)sensing platform based on plasmonic chiral metamaterials,which presents a 6-magnitude signal enhancement with a selectivity of chiral *** by coupled-mode theory,we leverage both in-plane and out-of-plane symmetry-breaking structures for chiral metamaterial design enabled by a two-step lithography process,which increases the near-field coupling strengths and varies the ratio between absorption and radiation loss,resulting in improved chiral light-matter interaction and enhanced molecular VCD ***,we demonstrate the thin-film sensing process of BSA andβ-lactoglobulin proteins,which contain secondary structures a-helix andβ-sheet and achieve a limit of detection down to zeptomole ***,we also,for the first time,explore the potential of enhanced VCD spectroscopy by demonstrating a selective sensing process of chiral mixtures,where the mixing ratio can be successfully differentiated with our proposed chiral *** findings improve the sensing signal of molecules and expand the extractable information,paving the way toward label-free,compact,small-volume chiral molecule detection for stereochemical and clinical diagnosisapplications.

In the digital era, the demand for quick access to goods (q-Commerce) has driven retail companies to develop online shopping applications, aiming to attract more consumers. To cater to the demands of q-Commerce, specialized mobile applications that prioritize fast delivery and user-friendly experiences are crucial. However, developing and maintaining these applications present challenges in terms of speed of development and security. This research focuses on a retail company, PT X, with a q-Commerce application serving 3.5 million active users monthly. The research aims to assess PT X's capability maturity level in application development governance using the COBIT 2019 Capability Maturity Model. Additionally, the study investigates the differences in assessment methods between COBIT 2019 and previous versions. The findings contribute to understanding in which level of capability maturity that companies can achieve in developing quick commerce applications with a large user base. Findings of this research provides an overview for PT X to initiate the necessary initial steps to comply with the good application development according to COBIT 2019 standard. This research also highlights to future researchers that COBIT 2019 is primarily a framework for enterprise-level assessment and need to be adjusted to be suitable for measurements below the enterprise level.

AI is a magnificent field that directly and profoundly touches on numerous disciplines ranging from philosophy, computer science, engineering, mathematics, decision and data science and economics, to cognitive science, neuroscience and more. The number of applications and impact of AI is second to none and the potential of AI to broadly impact future science developments is particularly thrilling. While attempts to understand knowledge, reasoning, cognition and learning go back centuries, AI remains a relatively new field. In part due to the fact it has so many wide-ranging overlaps with other disparate fields it appears to have trouble developing a robust identity and culture. Here we suggest that contrasting the fast-moving AI culture to biological and biomedical sciences is both insightful and useful way to inaugurate a healthy tradition needed to envision and manage our ascent to AGI and beyond (independent of the AI Platforms used). After all, the human brain is a biological organ produced by evolution and human intelligence is a remarkable bi-product of nature and nurture and their complex interaction. In this perspective, we focus on traditions and culture, namely the commonly observed practices of evaluating, recognizing applauding, critiquing, debating and managing all progress including useful advances and discovery of challenging limitations. We are not discussing specific scientific exchanges between AI and Biology that include interdisciplinary cross fertilization of scientific methods, technology, ideas and applications that have been amply demonstrated and will continue to be transformative in the future. In a previous perspective, we suggested that biomedical laboratories or centers can usefully embrace logistic traditions in AI labs that will allow them to be highly collaborative, improve the reproducibility of research, reduce risk aversion and produce faster mentorship pathways for PhDs and fellows. E-learning satisfaction is an important factor in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of distance learning. The use of Big Data technology can have a significant impact on e-learning satisfaction. The purpose of this research is to examine the implementation of big data in e-learning and the factors that can increase student e-learning satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative survey method with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The research respondents were randomly selected e-learning students from several educational institutions that use Big Data technology in their e-learning platforms. There are 663 data collected through online questionnaires, then the data is processed through SmartPLS to test the research hypothesis. The results of the study show that the use of Big Data technology in an e-learning environment has a positive impact on student satisfaction. Several factors determine e-learning satisfaction including usability requirements, quality level, learning competence, and material relatedness. Relatedness to e-learning is more important in increasing student motivation in learning, as can be seen from the correlation value which is more dominant in forming student satisfaction. The e-learning platform must have navigation that is easy for users to understand and use. Learning content must be well-designed and follow established learning standards. The use of Big Data technology in e-learning can have a significant impact on student satisfaction and the quality of learning. Future research can develop a more personal and adaptive e-learning platform, using Big Data technology as the basis for its development. © 2023 IEEE.

Real-Time 3D Object Detection, Recognition and Presentation Using a Mobile Device for Assistive Navigation

This paper presents an integrated solution for 3D object detection, recognition, and presentation to increase accessibility for various user groups in indoor areas through a mobile application. The system has three major components: a 3D object detection module, an object tracking and update module, and a voice and AR-enhanced interface. The 3D object detection module consists of pre-trained 2D object detectors and 3D bounding box estimation methods to detect the 3D poses and sizes of the objects in each camera frame. This module can easily adapt to various 2D object detectors (e.g., YOLO, SSD, mask RCNN) based on the requested task and requirements of the run time and details for the 3D detection result. It can run on a cloud server or mobile application. The object tracking and update module minimizes the computational power for long-term environment scanning by converting 2D tracking results into 3D results. The voice and AR-enhanced interface integrates ARKit and SiriKit to provide voice interaction and AR visualization to improve information delivery for different user groups. The system can be integrated with existing applications, especially assistive navigation, to increase travel safety for people who are blind or have low vision and improve social interaction for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. In addition, it can potentially be used for 3D reconstruction of the environment for other applications. Our preliminary test results for the object detection evaluation and real-time system performance are provided to validate the proposed system. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and marketing have transformed consumer behavior and shopping experiences, especially through Recommender Systems (RSs) in e-commerce. RSs use algorithms to provide personalized recommendations, enhancing shopping convenience. However, this raises data privacy and ethical concerns, as RSs rely on user data. This research explores the quality determinants of RSs and their impact on consumer behavior, focusing on privacy awareness and its effect on repurchase intentions. Using a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews, the study targets Indonesian respondents aged 18-40 with e-commerce experience. Findings reveal that recommendation quality, especially self-reference and vividness, significantly influences purchasing decisions. Respondents prefer recommendations that match their preferences and are visually appealing. Positive shopping experiences are linked to efficient and accurate RSs, but there's a need for improvements in transparency, novelty, diversity, and advanced technologies like AR. Respondents are aware of digital data storage but have limited understanding of privacy concerns. They trust e-commerce platforms with basic personal details but are hesitant to share sensitive information. Despite privacy issues, e-commerce remains vital, with respondents emphasizing the need for transparency, robust security, and clear explanations for data use to maintain trust. Addressing these issues not only enhances customer experience but also demonstrates that consumer trust directly impacts the sustainability and success of the business. © 2024 IEEE.
