TERMS: textual emotion recognition in multidimensional space

Microblogs generate a vast amount of data in which users express their emotions regarding almost all aspects of everyday life. Capturing affective content from these context-dependent and subjective texts is a challenging task. We propose an intelligent probabilistic model for textual emotion recognition in multidimensional space (TERMS) that captures the subjective emotional boundaries and contextual information embedded in a text for robust emotion recognition. It is implausible with discrete label assignment;therefore, the model employs a soft assignment by mapping varying emotional perceptions in a multidimensional space and generates them as distributions via the Gaussian mixture model (GMM). To strengthen emotion distributions, TERMS integrates a probabilistic emotion classifier that captures the contextual and linguistic information from texts. The integration of these aspects, the context-aware emotion classifier and the learned GMM parameters provide a complete coverage for accurate emotion recognition. The large-scale experimentation shows that compared to baseline and state-of-the-art models, TERMS achieved better performance in terms of distinguishability, prediction, and classification performance. Multi-robot Map Exploration Based on Multiple Rapidly-Exploring Randomized Trees

A map is necessary for tasks such as path planning or localization, which are common to mobile robot navigation. However, a map may be unavailable if the environment in which a robot navigates is unknown. Creating a map requires an exploration algorithm. Such algorithms guide robots to boundaries that separate known portions of a map from the unknown portions. Such boundaries are known as frontiers. There are image processing-based algorithms that detect frontiers. The authors’ previous work uses two, i.e., local and global, rapidly exploring random trees (RRTs) for two-dimensional exploration using a single robot. The present work applies the above to a multiagent system with three robots. A market-based strategy is used to allocate exploration tasks to the robots. Results show that the developed exploration strategy successfully explores a map in a reasonable amount of time compared to image processing-based approaches, and also reduces the map exploration cost. This strategy is readily usable for three-dimensional exploration with drones. It is also shown that the usage of a local frontier detector along with a global frontier detector helps reduce exploration time compared to simply using a global frontier detector alone. As an outline to future work, the paper also shows an extension of the proposed approach towards three-dimensional mapping using a single robot. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Understanding how social structures with the use of a network have been an active field of study for academics in the past five years alone. The need to properly comprehends how Social Network Analysis (SNA) is being studied grows more and more in recent years. In this article, we propose a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to the SNA to see how the algorithms, techniques, and methods are used also discuss their findings. We select thirty-one research studies on SNA. We found different algorithms and techniques that are being used. It is found that the selected research could be categorized into five different main topics which is academic, health, social media, communication, and technology. From all of the research paper discussed, it is also found that many algorithms and techniques are being used to enhanced the SNA, most of them are being machine learning algorithm such as Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Naïve Bayes, Logistic Regression, K Nearest Neighbor, and Whale Optimization Algorithm. While the common features of the datasets used in the research comes as different arrays of user information from social media platforms, Tweets and posts from multiple platforms, also a photographic input such as self-images, portraits, and context related pictures. This article will serve as a single reference for future researchers to the discovery of the latest SNA findings. © 2021 IEEE.

Hypertension is a noncommunicable disease (NCD) that causes global concern, high costs and a high number of deaths. Internet of Things, Ubiquitous Computing, and Cloud Computing enable the development of systems for remote and real-time monitoring of patients affected with NCDs like hypertension. This paper reports on a system for monitoring hypertension patients that was built by employing these techniques. This system allows the vital signs of a patient (blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature) to be captured via sensors built in a wearable device similar to a wristwatch. These signals are transmitted to the patient's mobile device for processing, and the generated clinical data are sent to the cloud to be properly presented and analysed by the health professionals responsible for the patient. To deal with semantic interoperability issues that arise when multiple different devices and system components must interoperate, a semantic model was conceived for this system in terms of ontologies for diseases and devices. This paper also presents the semantic module that we developed and implemented in the cloud to perform reasoning based on this model, demonstrating the potential benefits of incorporating semantic technologies in our system. The development of technology and artificial intelligence, especially in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 almost covers all fields, one of which is e-learning. In its development, it is very important to determine the factors to produce the quality of e-learning. Machine learning can help to find various solutions in the real world, especially to solve problems for which a specific algorithm has not been found. The implementation of e-learning is often ineffective and not on target which has an impact on learning achievement that is not achieved, this is due to several things namely the learning model is applied in general, the learning materials and weights are applied equally to all users. Seeing these problems, it is necessary to have a model to classify students according to their abilities, talents, and interests before starting learning to achieve their goals to be achieved. This paper aims to create a machine learning approach model to determine the level of ability and needs of students before starting learning which can reduce disparities between students and follow up learning materials. With the machine learning based on learning model, e-learning can provide teaching materials according to the abilities, and interests of students, sustainably and improve the quality of students.

In this era of digital world information, farmers face challenges about information management of huge data and the complexity of processes in precision farming. The data collection carried out so far can cause several difficulties, especially if the data is needed by the government or academics to support decision-making. Agricultural data collection applications only cover 12% of the market share of Android-based agriculture-based applications. In this study, Tani Milenial application is present as an alternative to support agricultural data collection activities in Indonesia. This application encourages farmers to be active and contribute independently to their role as subjects of agricultural development and is accustomed to digitally recording their agricultural activities. In this developed application system, the community, especially farmers and farmer groups, will find it easier to get information about agricultural potential data around where they carry out agricultural activities and can access this information online. Tani Milenial works as a guide to help farmers and transform agriculture but still have some gaps which should be checked and removed. The data collected can be used by various parties for research and decision-making. The app can be further improved to develop new features related to education, market information, and goods. © 2022 IEEE.

Making decisions requires different information, especially when it is crucial. The traditional Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a great algorithm that will help make these decisions more quickly because it organizes the choices in a hierarchy. However, this algorithm has trouble with big datasets and changing decision settings because they depend on pairwise comparisons and subjective judgments when making decisions. Additionally, fuzzy and stochastic AHP algorithms were developed to improve the traditional ones. However, these algorithms are complex to use on a large scale and require many computers. This study presents a novel algorithm (Top-TC AHP) that integrates Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Top-K algorithms into the traditional AHP to help people make decisions faster and better. It uses SVM to sort data and get the probabilities of the criteria for the alternatives and Top-K to choose the top options. Time complexity, consistency ratio, and throughput were the metrics used to gauge the performance of the novel algorithm. As a result, when comparing Top-TC AHP to other ways, it gets better consistency, makes computing more manageable, and speeds things up. Because of this, it is beneficial for dealing with large amounts of data and situations that change quickly. In addition, the Top-TC AHP algorithm can help people make smart decisions in many areas, such as business and school planning.

Effective recommendation systems are essential for supporting decision-making in various fields in this age of abundant information. This paper presents a novel framework for a Modified Recommender Algorithm that combines Top-K and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Traditional decision-making frameworks such as AHP are susceptible to subjectivity and inconsistencies, necessitating innovative approaches to improve their reliability and effectiveness. The objective is to improve recommendation systems' efficacy and precision by integrating sophisticated machine-learning techniques with resilient decision-making approaches. The proposed framework establishes the hierarchical structure of decision elements and prioritizes alternatives according to user preferences by utilizing AHP, a potent multi-criteria decision-making tool. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is then used as a text classification model to enrich the feature space for recommendations by classifying textual data into pertinent classes. In addition, the framework applies Top-K Algorithms to select the most pertinent alternatives based on SVM classification output, thereby refining the recommendation results. Top-K Algorithms improve overall recommendation accuracy and relevance by iteratively filtering and ranking alternatives. This research advances the field of data science by providing a thorough framework that combines innovative machine learning techniques with conventional decision-making methodologies to address the challenges of recommendation systems in complex and dynamic environments.

This research exhibits an algorithm adapted from the Technique for Order of Preference by Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methodology, integrating the Entropy Weighting Method (EWM) for objective and efficient recommendation processes. Decision-making methodologies have indicated gaps of subjective influence affecting performance values on several implementations with additional limitations on the flexibility of handling complex problems that require multiple factors while maintaining an acceptable running time. The study takes this into account and formulates an adaptable and efficient framework that offers objective and data-driven recommendations for diverse situations. Future endeavors include subjecting the framework to real-life scenarios and testing its effectiveness.

Enhancing Branch Office Network Availability Using Cloud EoIP Gateway

Since internet service is mostly available in many countries, tunneling solution over an internet link often used in the company for network communication between its multi-regional branches. The current state of the art solution consisting of an EoIP tunnel combined with IPsec installed on the Head Quarter of the company. Researchers see this solution as prone to total network disruption when the HQ loses its internet service. With the rising trend of cloud computing development, researchers then propose a multi-region network infrastructure design consist of MikroTik devices and Cloud platforms using EoIP IPsec protocol. Cloud platform used as an EoIP IPsec gateway due to its high availability. From the implementation and testing, the EoIP Cloud gateway proved to have high network availability. Branch network communication proved to be running well with no impact on the HQ loss of internet services. IPsec also proved to be secure enough to secure user data transmitted over the internet. From the QoS findings, there is a 24ms drop in delay performance and 0,66 ms drop in jitter performance. The EoIP IPsec on cloud platform also proved to have a 0,97% improvement in throughput performance and has a 0% packet loss rate.
